Elena’s is a boutique beachfront retreat offering private homes and garden villas on Los Ayala Beach, along Mexico’s stunning Pacific coast—just 60 km north of Puerto Vallarta
International Airport.

Elena’s on the Beach is named for my mother, Elena, who with my father, sailed into the Los Ayala cove in the 1960's and fell in love with Los Ayala—back when it was little more than a quiet fishing village. My parents quickly retired and spent the rest of their lives dividing their time between Los Ayala and the US.

My parents built a library with thousands of books, for the local children, built bridges and basketball courts in Los Ayala. Elena is well known throughout the village for her contribution to the children and to local families. The library is located on the property. Now 98, Elena remains active in teaching the grandchildren of her first students in her library (Elena's Biblioteca) which supports local children in improving their reading, learning English and most of all, having fun!

I have been coming to Los Ayala most of my life. 20 years ago I decided to spend more time in Los Ayala and purchased my home. Each year we stayed longer and longer because we love the area so much. My husband and I now live in Los Ayala full time.

Elena's is family-run, cared for by local residents who have lived in the area for over a decade and we are all proud to show the beauties of Los Ayala and Nayarit and to carry forward a legacy of hospitality, connection, and care.

We are located at the end of a quiet sandy beach road. The beach is spectacular, with a gentle slope and it is considered a safe, family beach. Our location is ideal for families or small groups seeking space, calm, and authentic coastal Mexico.
Elena's on the Beach blends traditional charm with modern comfort with many options for exploring nearby beaches, having fun in the sun, great restaurants and foods, a vibrant music scene and easy access to other beach towns up and down the coast. .
If you like to hike, the jungle trailhead is steps from Elena's. Whale Watching and Fishing are fun activities.
Grocery stores are in walking distance and restaurants dot the beach. Best of all, fall asleep to the sound of waves, and wake to ocean breezes.

Some accommodations sit directly on the beach, while others are nestled across the beach road in lush tropical gardens, all with private access to the ocean. Los Ayala’s gentle waves and gorgeous sandy beach. Each option creates a create the perfect setting for relaxing, family-friendly beach days. All guests have access through our property to the Los Ayala beach. Take a morning stroll along the 1-km stretch of sandy beach to the morning fish market., or enjoy a meal at a charming palapa-style restaurant which serve fresh seafood and local specialties.

Everyday essentials are close by, with small grocery stores within walking distance. For more variety, colectivos are within walking distance and taxis will pick you up right at Elena’s and take you to nearby towns such as Rincón de Guayabitos and La Peñita de Jaltemba.
From there, larger bus lines connect you to vibrant destinations like San Pancho, Sayulita, Puerto Vallarta, Tepic, Guadalajara, and beyond. Travel by bus in Mexico is not only economical
but also a scenic, cultural experience in itself.

1. Beachfront Casas (3–5 bedrooms) - Spacious homes designed for families and groups who want to be steps from the sand.
Each casa is beautifully maintained and styled for comfort and ease, combining traditional charm with modern convenience.

2. Garden Casas and Villas (1–2 bedrooms)
- Garden Homes: Spacious 2BR homes with custom furniture and artwork, shaded patios, and balconies overlooking treetops and jungle views. Perfect for those who want an easy going “home away from home" feel..
- Garden Villas: Chic, recently built 1BR Villas ideal for singles or couples. Amenities include washer/dryer stack, A/C, and kitchen. Beautiful balconies and patios overlook gardens and create a relaxing home.
