The host were delightful. However, when we got to the unit, we saw that the wall-to-wall carpeting was absolutely filthy. Disgusting. Black instead of tan. We insisted that they have it clean. It was so filthy. They had to do it twice and the water was black when they dumped it out. Unexcused. We were told the place was clean and it had been inspected by the Vrbo people. Absolutely shameful. I don’t envy the people that follow us. It is so bad! We could not wait to get out. We’ve never had such a poor experience in our lives that it was not overseen by the people in charge like we were told. Like I said, they were very lovely people, but they did not do their jobs like they said. It was not in a healthy condition when we got there.

We want to clarify that we had just taken over management of this property at the same time as your arrival, and we immediately addressed your concerns once they were brought to our attention. The carpet was professionally cleaned right away, including multiple treatments to ensure it was properly handled. As a gesture of goodwill, we also provided a $100 dining gift card to a waterfront restaurant on Fort Myers Beach. After this, we understood your stay continued and we’re glad you were still able to enjoy the community and your time in the area. This is an older, well-maintained unit in a beautiful community, and since taking over management we’ve implemented our own standards to ensure consistent cleanliness and guest experience moving forward.
