The apt: This place was a gem! So clean, welcoming and homey. It was really easy to settle in and relax. We used the washer and hung the clothes out on the line attached to their patio. They provided ALL the essentials, as well as a lovely welcome basket. Layout: This is a very compact European apartment. The bedroom with a double bed in it was very small—vey little space there around the bed, which felt like an American double bed, not a queen. My husband is 6’3” and I’m 5’4”, and we made it work. But if we were larger people, this might feel like a squeeze. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twins in it—more room there. We gave it to the teens; since they’ve had to share a sofa bed at the last place, we wanted to give them some space at this place. Yes, we could’ve swapped, but chose not to. What I’m trying to say is: if you’re a person who NEEDS more spacious quarters, this isn’t for you. But if you enjoy an apartment in an authentic neighborhood building and enjoy a lovely home filled with everything you will need for your stay, then this IS the place for you!! Lovely playground & basketball court nearby, as well as several small grocery stores, food & ice cream shops, a couple small clothing “butiks” and an ATM within 1-2 blocks!!Location: Walking distance from the FlixBus stop and Auschwitz; there were more restaurants 10-20 mins walk away, but they closed at 7, and evening arrival & late afternoon Auschwitz tour didn’t allow us to get there in time. Full recommendations!!
