Comfortable Irish Holiday Home in Fabulous Kinsale

The house (Neves) is on a hill over looking the Harbour and is quiet and private. It is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Scilly walk right into the heart of historic Kinsale. This holiday home is equipped with a modern kitchen, new appliances and laundry facilities. There are two bright bedrooms and two full bathrooms both with walk in showers. The first bedroom has two queen beds and the bathroom is located just across the hall. The second bedroom has a king size bed with an ensuite bathroom. Relax in the open living and dining area with harbour views and a lovely Sunroom, perfect to enjoy your afternoon tea with a book!

Kinsale is famous for its Harbour and mild climate. The Harbour is ideal for yachting, sea angling, kayaking and dolphin and whale watching trips. There is an amazing Golf course nearby at the Old Head.

Kinsale today is a busy town with both locals and tourists. There are many shops along the quaint narrow streets with unique gifts, crafts, paintings, art galleries, book shops and many lovely Cafes perfect for your morning coffee and cake. Our favorite lunch spot is The Lemon Leaf Café.

Kinsale is the gourmet capital of Ireland. Our favorite restaurants are the Bullman, Man Friday, Fishy Fishy, and many others. We also love the Pink Elephant which is a beautiful 30 minute drive along the coast. It is our favorite for Sunday lunch.

We love to drive along the coast to the Old Head and beautiful quaint towns of Clonakility, Skibbereen and Bantry. Day trips around the Ring of Kerry and the Lakes of Killarney are a must.

Kinsale house with a view

Beautifully appointed and situated in a great location. Clean and orderly. It is obvious the home is well-cared for. It was totally comfortable and we enjoyed coming home after daily excursions. I would recommend Neves in a heartbeat. The neighborhood was quiet and the daily greeting by the three doggies next door was the icing on the cake. Thank you for the attention you have paid to this special place in Kinsale.

Perfect Stay

This is a lovely home, comfortable, spacious, with beautiful views to the ocean. Easily accessible to Kinsale with it’s fine restaurants, golf and attractions. We enjoyed a week just relaxing in the house, coming and going as we wished. Many thanks!

A beautiful base

We really loved our stay in this house. It is decorated beautifully and feels so homely and comfortable - it truly is a home away from home. We explored Kinsale from here but also took advantage of all the great tips and recommendations given to us by the owner and property managers (their friends) including the day trip to Glandore which was stunning, and the other restaurants too. Highly recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a peaceful, comfortable home to stay in.

Such a lovely home in a great location!

Neve's Cottage was the perfect rental for us. It was a private location, but within walking distance to pubs and spectacular views. The caretaker, Sam, was very responsive when we had questions, but gave us our space and privacy. The home was so lovely and bright and relaxing that we spent a lot of our time just hanging out there. We love Kinsale and will definitely come back to Neve's!

Perfect

Neves was perfect for 4 adults. Plenty of space, we’ll equipped and very comfortable beds! The view was lovely and it was an easy walk to the Bulman pub one way 5 mins) and Kinsale Centre the other way (10 to 15 mins) as long as you don’t mind a couple of steeper sections. The property owner responded to any questions very quickly. Would recommend

Excellent rental

The rental met all of our expectations. Everything that was promised was provided. The woman who helped maintain the property was very helpful not only with the workings of the house but also with shopping, directions, etc as we had never been in that area before. We highly recommend this rental.

Superb property with great views on edge of Kinsale

This is by far the best property we have stayed in Ireland (and we have been coming for 19 years!). It was extremely well presented and finished with all the creature comforts that could be desired. it was great to have very good TV and Wi-fi which is often poor. Amanda was very helpful and knowledgable and made arrivla and departure very easy. Highly recommended.

The great south

Neves was like a home from home. It had everything you could wish for and more. It felt like you were living in a family home you've known for a long time. Communication with the owner and caretaker was excellent friendly and informative. We would have no hesitation in recommending Neves to family and friends as a place to chill out and enjoy a relaxing break with its great location and well equipped property.

The Perfect Home!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely home. Every room is comfortable and equipped with everything one would need. It is in a very quiet neighborhood and yet close enough to the village to walk to. We have already reserved it again for next year and highly recommend it as a first class home. (My wife tells me I shouldn't review it so highly as it might make it more difficult for us to rent in the future!) But it is true the place is lovely!!

Lovely views in a well appointed home,the caretaker's Sam and Mandy were a wealth of knowledge and very helpful, this property is a gem and lacks nothing a must stay when in Kinsale,the bed in the master suite was probably the best I ever slept on,this home was truly functional and beautifully decorated, the outdoor patio with views to die for, great way to relax at the end of the day or start your day with breakfast overlooking the bay,I absolutely would recommend this property, Penny thank you for sharing your family home and a seamless transaction

"Neves", Kinsale Ireland

This 2 bedroom, 2 bath, single level home is perfect in every way. Proximity to Kinsale city center is excellent, the views from the home are outstanding, and the beds/furnishings are very comfortable. Amanda and Sam, the property managers, are very kind and attentive...They are easily reachable if there is anything at all that you need. I would highly recommend this home as a perfect place to stay when exploring the charming town of Kinsale and the many villages in southwest Ireland!

little bit of Irish paradise

We could not have asked for anything more to make our stay in Summercove absolutely perfect. Even the Irish weather cooperated. The house is very very comfortable and was fully equipped (and more) for the stay. The pictures are great but the house is even better. The view is fabulous and the people so very friendly. Amanda was very helpful and responsive. The town is indeed a gourmet capital with Bulman's in Summercove being our very favourite!! The walk into town down Scilly walk and along the water superb.

Spacious property

This is a clean, comfortable house, situated about 1.5 miles from the centre of Kinsale. It's well appointed with everything you would need in a vacation rental. As the owner states, your own transport is essential. We found some difficulty with getting a taxi from Kinsale once it goes beyond 8 - 9 o'clock in the evening. The Bulman gastropub is well worth a visit, only 5 minutes by car. You need to be in good shape to manage the hills around the property if you're walking!

Excellent place for a family. A short drive to Kinsale and easy access to Charles Fort. Close access to the Scilly Walk. It has a lovely outside area with a grill that we were unable to use due to the weather. I would have rated higher but we experienced problems with the heat system and hot water. During our week at the property, I know that it worked 1 night but the internal temp ranged 15-17 deg most of the stay. I had a few cold showers before we discovered the emergency heat for the hot water. The property manager offered to send a Plummer to look at the boiler on our last day there but we didn’t want to lose our last day in the area waiting for the repair. The last evening was chilly but they had extra blankets to help us stay warm. The other negative is that there was no outside light. The light on the garage was not working and it was very dark each day we got back due to early sunset, no moon and storms. There are a couple of grocery stores close to get food and supplies such as toilet paper and paper towels as there was limited supply for our trip.

Beautiful Home, Wonderful Views and Great Location

The house, Neves, was everything we were hoping for an dmore. An excellent loction to walk to both Kinsale and Summercove, and spectacular views of the Harbor and the Old Head in the distance (weather permitting). Amanda and Sam Kingston, the local property managers, were delightful and very helpful. Our inital contact, Penny (the owner) was very informative and timely in her responses to our questions. They (Penny, Amanda and Sam) also provided a lot of local information which was very helpful. We had stayed in Kinsale a few times befor, but it was nice to receive updates on both old and new restaurants, etc. from them.We will definitely be returning.

Gary was born and raised on St. Kitts in the Caribbean. He grew up fishing, camping and spending time in the kitchen at his family's hotel. Cooking remained his passion throughout the years and, after attending St. Mary's University in Nova Scotia, he moved back to the island to pursue a culinary career. He has owned and operated several beachfront restaurants on the island and he is currently the proud owner of Reggae Beach Bar and Grill.

Mary was born and raised in Greenwood, SC. Growing up on a farm, she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian from a young age. After graduating from Clemson University, she enrolled at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) in St. Kitts. She graduated from RUSVM and moved back to the island of St. Kitts where she has been employed at RUSVM for over 10 years.

Mary and Gary Pereira met while she was attending veterinary school and they have been married since 2006. They welcomed a daughter, Ava Kate, in 2012.

They love 'living de island life' and 'rushing slowly'!

This home belonged to Gary's grandfather, Hank, where he spend many happy years. It was then passed on to his mother, Lesley, and family from the Caribbean, Canada and the US have traveled to enjoy beautiful Kinsale. Gary has now taken on this home and enjoys extended stays here with his family ever year.
