Summary:
Welcome to Prickly Bear, a two-bedroom Gatlinburg townhome on Ski Mountain Road. Walk to Ober Mountain, then come home to a bright living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a full kitchen, and a patio with seating. Downtown Gatlinburg and Great Smoky Mountains National Park are a drive down the mountain. Guests also have access to Chalet Village’s shared, seasonal pools and off-site clubhouses.
The Space:
Tall windows and vaulted ceilings fill the living area with natural light and views of the surrounding trees. Settle in by the stone wood-burning fireplace for a movie, or step out to the patio for a little fresh mountain air.
The full kitchen has appliances and cookware for meals at home, along with a breakfast bar and a separate dining nook. A washer and dryer make longer stays easier.
Upstairs, each of the two bedrooms has a queen bed. The living room has a sleeper sofa for additional sleeping space. You’ll also have one full bathroom, one half bathroom, Wi-Fi, and three Smart TVs throughout the home.
Guest Access:
As our guest, you'll have full access to the entire property, except for a few areas reserved for house supplies.
The Neighborhood:
Prickly Bear sits in Chalet Village, a wooded Gatlinburg neighborhood along Ski Mountain Road. Spend a day exploring downtown Gatlinburg’s shops, restaurants, and attractions, or head into Great Smoky Mountains National Park for trails and scenic overlooks.
There’s plenty to discover beyond Gatlinburg, too. Pigeon Forge offers shows and family attractions, while Wears Valley and Townsend are lovely choices for a slower scenic day. Follow Little River Road alongside the water toward Townsend, or take Newfound Gap Road through the mountains to Cherokee, North Carolina, with overlooks along the way.
Getting Around:
Ober Mountain is within walking distance of the townhome. For downtown Gatlinburg, Anakeesta, the national park, and the off-site Chalet Village clubhouses, you’ll want a car. Ski Mountain Road leads into Gatlinburg, while the Pigeon Forge Bypass offers another route toward Pigeon Forge.
Mountain roads are winding, and traffic can be slow during busy travel periods. Allow extra time for outings and check road conditions if snow or ice is expected. If you plan to use Ober’s shuttle, check its current hours before heading over.
