Beautiful and peaceful place. It was a perfect retreat for us (5 sisters) and so convenient for our shopping in Hamilton. The hosts were wonderful!

Wonderful Experience!

One of our party kept saying, "This is so fun!" The home was just lovely, vintage and cozy, but with all the upgrades that made it pleasant and even luxurious, down to the hand embroidered and crocheted linens. The property manager was clear about expectations, and was very helpful. For instance, we were unclear about the location of the lockbox, and she was working outback, so she came up to help us get in. We asked about a blender, which did not come with the house, and 10 minutes later, she showed up with one. We were mostly very comfortable (people are always divided on the firmness of mattresses). We had a warm atmosphere that made visiting friends glad to spend an evening or two with us. Overall, we were delighted with our experience here!

Perfect for our Quilt Trip

This was a girls trip with my daughters, mom and 3 aunts. The house was quiet and located in the country (do your grocery shopping before you get to the house). The kitchen is well stocked and large. We added the leaf to the table for our larger party. The house was clean and well stocked with towels and spices for cooking. The washer and dryer worked great. We will definitely stay here again on our next quilt trip to Hamilton. Thank you Dyana for the delicious home baked bread at check in. Great property!

Historical Hone with slight issues

Before we even stepped out of our vehicle, we were greeted and shown into the home. There were chocolates on the kitchen table to welcome us too. We were encouraged to use the upper level because the bottom floor was really cold, and the internet needed to be reset our second day there, as well as a leak from one of the upstairs bathrooms on the 3rd. These things do happen in much older homes though, and we were still able to use the downstair one until it could be properly looked into. The hot water goes out very quickly. Overall, the house was as shown, and it is in a very peaceful setting that provides rest and relaxation.

Far West country home

This farm house was perfect for our group of 12 ladies attending the Missouri Star Quilt Company’s Birthday Bash just 15 minutes away in Hamilton. The house was comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The manager of the property was just a few steps away and was able to attend to our every need. We all loved staying here.

Country Getaway

We had a comfortable and pleasant getaway with our extended family. We enjoyed the pond, cooking and eating outdoors, and just hanging out.

Quiet, Restful and Convenient

We planned a trip with our extended family (ages from 50s to 90s) for shopping in Hamilton and Jamesport. This place was the perfect location and it is a really lovely old farm house that has been smartly updated. We did a lot of cooking in the kitchen and roasted hotdogs and make smores out at the firepit. It was a very relaxing time and we would visit again. The only downside, and this wasn't the owners' fault, was alot of beetles in and around the house. But we were able to figure out a way to control them for the visit.

Excellently clean and maintained. Unfortunately, we didn't use it much other than sleeping. A/C was great and very necessary. Had everything we needed.

Fun family getaway

The property was wonderful!! Diane and Eugene were very friendly and accommodated every little thing we asked about. Kids loved making stores around the fireplace - feeding and putting the horses - feeding the chickens and hiking around the area. Truly a special weekend!!

Highly recommend!!!!

We had the most amazing, relaxing family Thanksgiving vacation at this property. We live out of state and holidays/visits back home to see family are usually hectic, driving from place to place after driving through 4 states to get there! This time was much different. The pictures don't do this place justice. It was clean, comfortable and had plenty of room for everyone to come to us and stay if they wanted. They had everything we needed, just had to unpack the suitcase and go to the grocery store! We enjoyed hiking, playing football with the grands, petting the horses, the firepit, etc but most of all spending some long overdue-much needed family time with everyone. The caretakers were fantastic and very helpful as well. If you're looking for a quiet getaway that is close to town, yet private and peaceful this is definitely worth it! We can't say enough good things about this home and will most definitely be reserving it for all of our trips back home from here on out! The Mitchells

Daughters Weekend

My daughters and grand daughters spent a long weekend here and had a great time. There were 9 of us and accommodations were roomy with plenty of bathrooms. A plus for 9 girls! We enjoyed all the outdoor activities and the hosts were very accommodating. Great property!

Great for Families

We found this place very relaxing and well equipped for our short stay in the area. It’s kitchen was well equipped for making breakfast for our group of 11. We enjoyed the ponds and creek and walking paths, as well as feeding the chickens.

Wonderful for kids/families!

My family and I recently stayed at the Far West House, and had a wonderful time! The house is very family friendly. The kids were able to enjoy the farm, the swings, and find plenty of space to spread out. We are typically staying in hotels, but the house gave us the flexibility to put kids to bed and continue catching up with relatives. The home was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped for multiple or large families! We are so thankful that we were able to stay here! The house was the perfect mix of charming farm house and updated amenities! The downstairs is large and open, making it a great place for meeting/gathering!

Great Reunion

Family Reunion Fun House

We had a family reunion with 10 kids and three adults and had a great time. We roasted marshmallows on the fire pit and the kids swung on the two tree swings. The horses were in training, so we did not get to pet or play with them on this trip, but we hope to next time. We had a hard time getting the little girls out of the giant Jacuzzi tub. The big kids struggled a little bit with the lack of internet connectivity, but that is what the grown ups liked best. The cousins had to go out and play with each other. We even let them set up a tent to sleep in the first night. But the indoor beds were too inviting. There were bunks, and trundles, and king sized beds. My daughter joked about trading her little flat pillow for one of the big fluffy ones there. Unfortunately, there was too much fun to actually spend much time sleeping. If we were to come back for one of our full size family reunions, there would be plenty of space on property to pitch tents and accommodate the whole group. And still have enough bathrooms for everybody to stay clean, fresh and regular. We would also have enough space to make home cooked meals for everyone. Seating everyone might be a problem, but overall, I would say it is a fantastic place to have a family reunion.

Beaitiful Spirit in a Disappearing Era, Quaint! Charming! Hospitality#1! Antique Charm

Classic old country charm brought to the modern age making a beautiful scene wonderful place for families friends a place to actually have a real vacation put your feet up soak it in no stress just peace this is the place you want for a real family vacation! A place to shut it down, hide away from the world, find happiness and feel God's love. If you get a chance stop in to this town. Shop at the Far West Country Store and feel the world around you slow down. Fishing Ponds, pioneer working campfire pit, central air conditioned, places to walk. Large area of land for playing games outside, tree swings, decks overlooking the ponds, beautiful views, beautifully designed and decorated. A real Getaway! Looking forward to more trips in the future I've never been able to unwind on a vacation as well as we did here. A MUST STAY location. Bucket List this one!

So Amazing!!! You need to try this place out!

We had the most wonderful stay at this farmhouse. It is newly re-modeled, clean and is so spacious and family friendly. They have lots of parking. Beautiful pond and plenty of ground to play family games! Wonderful peaceful atmosphere. Good mattresses for great sleep! Everything you need for a great Vacation/Reunion!! I definitely want to go back for more!
