The Neighborhood:
Welcome to Black Hawk! Located 35 miles west of Denver and nestled in Clear Creek Canyon, Black Hawk is a former mining and milling town now home to Colorado's largest number of Casinos. Whether your plans include gaming, historic tours, or outdoor activities, we are here to ensure your time in Black Hawk is unforgettable!
Black Hawk hosts a unique mix of authentic gold-mining history and modern-day attractions, all set against the unmatched scenic backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. Take a walking tour to discover the city's storied past, visit the casinos, and enjoy the outdoors with fishing, hiking, and sightseeing nearby.
During the warm months, there is no better way to explore the beauty of Colorado’s landscape than hiking or biking a nearby mountain trail. Black Hawk is minutes from Golden Gate Canyon State Park and dozens of trailheads along the front range.
Black Hawk is also near other destinations and towns worth checking out, including Central City, Idaho Springs, Rollinsville, Nederland, and Golden, and an hour from Rocky Mountain Mountain National Park.
Local eateries that are a short car ride away:
Bistro Mariposa (4.1 miles away) - Southwestern Baja cuisine, high-end tequilas, and Colorado craft brews.
Black Hawk Bean and Cream (4.3 miles away) - Made-to-order Sandwiches, all-natural ice cream, and organic coffee.
Toss: Wood Fired Eatery (10.5 miles away) - Wood-fired pizza, seasonal small plates, and craft drinks.

St Mary’s Glacier: 53 minutes
Check out the welcome book for our favorite local suggestions, including hikes, dining, and attractions you don’t want to miss!
Depending on your destination, skiing is 1-3 hours away. Locals head to Echo Mountain, Eldora (near Boulder), or Loveland (near Georgetown) for a more low-key experience. We’re also within a few hours of Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Aspen, and other snowy delights. There is a Nordic center near Breck if you want to try out cross-country skiing, and the summer months are a great time to rent a kayak to explore Dillon Reservoir.
Getting Around:
There is no public transport, such as a bus, Uber, etc. nearby. You need a 4WD vehicle to get around during all months of the year except July and August. During July and August, an AWD vehicle is acceptable.
The easiest way to get out and explore is by hopping on CO-119 to explore North or South, CO-119 to I-70 to explore deeper into the mountains to the West, or CO-46 to explore East of Black Hawk.
Other Things to Note:
• *FIRE SAFETY* - The foothills are a fragile area with high wildfire risk. For safety reasons and in adherence to strict fire restrictions, outdoor fires are prohibited to prevent the risk of wildfires and protect our natural landscapes.
• Though this is a residential area, bears, mountain lions, and other wildlife live in the area. Please close the trash bins, the doors, and keep your vehicle locked at all times!
• Guests must be comfortable with stairs.
• Hot tub - Please keep in mind that if a complete drain and fill service is needed, it may take up to 48-72 hours for the hot tub to come up to full temperature.
• *Plumbing/Septic - This home runs on a septic system, and the plumbing is very sensitive. Please do not flush wipes (of any kind, even if the packaging says they are flushable), hygiene products, paper towels, facial tissues, or anything else not meant for the toilet. Please reach out to us with any questions, and thank you in advance for your cooperation!*
• *NO A/C - There is no air conditioning as the summer in the mountains is very temperate.*
• Outdoor umbrella - Please close the umbrella when not in use to prevent damage to the property and the umbrella.
• The propane gas grill on site is NOT AN ADVERTISED AMENITY - adequate gas level in propane tanks is NOT guaranteed. Should you desire to use the grill, you may, but only under the condition that you acknowledge you are responsible for covering costs should you need a new propane tank.
• Quiet hours 10pm-8am
• *No smoking, pets, events, parties, or large gatherings - $1000 fine*
• If you cause any damage to the home, inside or out, you will be charged for the repair and/or replacement costs.
• Check-out time is 10 AM. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate late check-out times. Fines will be incurred for violation.
• Camera - A camera is located outside facing the driveway.
*There is no mailbox access at this property. We are not responsible for any lost or returned packages.
*Please be aware that we are not liable for any personal items left behind after your stay.* Should you believe you left any personal belongings at the property, we will do our best to recover them.
