To cover added efforts, we assess an automatic additional $600 fee (no exceptions) to all reservations initiated without prior approved confirmation. ~ VRBO will generate the cost of your stay when you enter dates and number of occupants, this quote is accurate and has already been adjusted when booking through VRBO to include added, separate, taxable VRBO and Agency administrative fees above the owner's rental rate, to cover their requirements, and administrative, commission, service and payment processing fees. This will reflect rates higher than listed elsewhere and these amounts will not be reflected or a part of the Lease Agreement between you and the homeowner. The rental rate noted in the body of the property description is the actual amount that will be reflected in the lease agreement; this amount is without added fees. The unique property boasts a spacious Main House, a fabulous and fully separate Guest House, and beautifully landscaped grounds designed for effortless relaxation and elegant entertaining.

A private lakeside dock and swim float provide direct access to Long Pond’s pristine waters, framed by the alluring mountains of Acadia National Park, the perfect backdrop for the estate’s luxurious accommodations. Guests enjoy exclusive use of both the Main House and the sizeable Guest House, each thoughtfully positioned within a serene, expertly designed landscape of stone terraces and lush gardens. The estate is ideally situated among towering pines along the glacial shores of Long Pond, regarded as MDI’s most sought after freshwater lake.

Here, breathtaking views, refined luxury, and an ideal Somesville location converge —just minutes from Acadia National Park trails, within walking or biking distance of the Island’s beloved Beech Hill organic farmstand, and conveniently close to all of MDI’s villages.

The custom-built shingle style Main House offers a spacious and luxurious interior highlighted by beautiful lake views, exceptional craftsmanship, hard wood flooring, surround sound and quality furnishings throughout. Designed for comfort and style, the home features a flowing layout that balances bright, open living spaces with areas of privacy and retreat. Luxury amenities include whole-house audio, radiant heat, and central air conditioning.

The main living areas are complemented by an expansive, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen and an impressive suite of high-end amenities, including a Sub-Zero wine refrigerator, a spacious pantry and wet bar, professional-class fitness room, and all the features needed for seamless entertaining and lakeside living —from swimming and sunning to hiking and exploring Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park year round.

The luxurious 4-bedroom main residence is further enhanced by a detached, carriage-style 2- bedroom Guest House, ideal for larger gatherings or those seeking additional privacy. The Guest House provides generous additional living space and a full bath, making it perfect for hosting extended family, friends, or special occasions.

First Floor Layout: Covered entryway into a well-sized mudroom; inviting open living room with lake views, granite fireplace, den with large flat-screen TV, separate side entry, and French doors opening to a furnished lakeside deck; fully-equipped gourmet kitchen featuring Sub-Zero refrigeration, a Wolf range and double ovens, wine cooler, wet bar, chef’s island, extensive coffee and espresso bar, and butler’s pantry; gracious formal dining room with seating for twelve; spacious powder room bath.

Second Floor Layout: Oversized primary bedroom with king bed, skylights, soaring ceilings, flat-screen TV, custom cherry built-ins with ample clothing storage, and beautiful lake views; en suite bath with tiled custom double shower and dual sink vanity. Second bedroom with king bed overlooking peaceful naturalized gardens; third bedroom with two twin beds and lake views. A full bath with shower and a convenient laundry room complete this level.

Lower Level Layout: Walk-out lower level featuring a bright and comfortable living room with large flat-screen TV and easy access to lakeside amenities; fully equipped fitness room with Peloton bike*, treadmill, weights, and an infrared sauna; full bath; spacious fourth bedroom with queen bed, offering additional privacy for guests.

Guest House Second Story Carriage Apartment: The freestanding Guest House features a second-story apartment above an oversized two-car garage, offering comfortable and private accommodations. The Guest House includes spacious living and dining areas as well as two bedrooms, one with a full bed and the second with bunk beds (one twin and one double bed). A well-appointed full bath with shower and washer/dryer completes this inviting guest retreat.
