Kids-friendly ground-floor apartment on the sunny side of Grindelwald

Luxurious Apartment in the Chalet Gwaechta - Close to sledding, skiing, hiking and more, this family-friendly apartment brings it all within reach. The 5-star certified 3 bedroom ground floor apartment (100 m2) is located on the sunny slope in Grindelwald. It is quiet, sunny, central and child friendly. Enjoy a wonderful view of the mountains and the north face of the Eiger. The bus stop to the cable cars, ski lifts (free ski bus) and to the village is directly in front of the house. So, you can leave your car at the property, which offers covered onsite parking, or jump in your vehicle to make short work of the 5-minute drive to Grindelwald “Terminal” Gondolas. After you return, unwind in the garden, or sip a drink on the south-facing deck directly facing the Eiger north-face. When you come inside, connect to the free WiFi or get cozy in front of the cable/satellite TV (video library available). There's also a DVD player and a stereo for your enjoyment. The apartment is bright, comfortable and modernly furnished. It features 2 double bedrooms (beds 200cm x 180cm each), 1 triple bedroom (bunk bed), 1 bathroom with shower/WC, 1 bathroom with bathtub/shower/WC. Relax on the spacious sofa in the living/dining room before or after having dinner either inside or outside. The modern kitchen is top equipped (including oven, microwave, dishwasher, raclette, fondue - cheese & meat, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, milk frother). The entire apartment offers wooden floor as well as floor heating. Bathroom amenities include a hair dryer, towels, and toilet paper. And you won't have to pack extra clothes, because you'll have a washer and dryer, too. Furthermore, there are free of charge: bed sheets, crib, highchairs, sledges, toys, BBQ grill, ironing board, etc. A garage parking lot is available. Smoking in the house is not allowed. Dogs are not allowed, other pets on request.

Very comfortable stay. Host very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We did find the key collection quite stressful and Grindlewald was extremely busy at 4pm in August and there was no where to park. A keysafe like most properties have would have been much easier but this was the only drawback.

Our stay in Grindelwald was magical aided by our wonderful accommodations in this beautiful, quiet, and peaceful home. The rooms were very comfortable, well appointed, and exceeded our expectations. Our host, Frank, was very helpful and responsive to all inquiries and ensured our stay in the house was positive in in all aspects. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio every afternoon following our adventures hiking throughout the magnificent mountains surrounding Grindelwald. Highly recommend staying here and hope to return in the future.

The apartment is in a modern Swiss chalet just minutes from Grindelwald. Your view faces the majestic Eiger. The neighborhood is serene yet just minutes from the busy center of town. Our family of six enjoyed our stay very much.

Great Apartment for our family of 5

We had the pleasure of staying in Grindelwald and at this lovely home. Frank was great in responding to any questions I had before going and had several recommendations. The apartment was spotless and the views from the patio were spectacular. It has everything you need and was very comfortable. It was our home away from home for a week and a great town to use as our base to explore the area. I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect spot in Grindelwald

Great accommodation for families (we were 3 adults and 3 teenagers) -- location is a short walk / bus ride to Grindelwald, home is modern, clean and well-equipped, and views from the patio are amazing! Highly recommend!

Perfect mountain gateway

We truly enjoyed the location and the chalet with all its amenities. Starting with the accessibility for people with limited mobility, to the kitchen well stocked, cleanliness, great terrace with unbelievable views! The communication with Frank was quick and he was always very polite and helpful. Great host! We highly recommend his place.

Beautiful apartment

We loved our stay in this beautiful apartment with plenty of space, on site parking, spectacular views and everything we needed! All the appliances were high quality, the beds comfy and bathrooms were excellent! Would highly recommend - even nicer than the listing descriptions.

Perfect Summer in Swiss Alps

Our family truly enjoyed Frank’s hospitality and wonderful apartment! It has such a lovely view from the patio. Everything is modern, clean, and perfect. It was the perfect spot to come home and relax after a full day of hiking and enjoying the beauty of the Swiss Alps. We definitely hope to come back someday!

Awesome Time!

This ground floor apartment in a chalet is awesome. The owner is very communicative and make sure that you feel at ease. The interior is very modern and clean. The best part is that you look out onto the Alps all day, every day.

Very special family apartment

This property was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, it just felt like home. It's clear there was an incredible amount of thoughtfulness put into the apartment, from the decorations to the amenities. The children had an wonderful time in the bedroom, with a countless amount of toys (both indoor and outdoor) and books to keep them occupied. The main living space is spacious and comfortable and we looked forward to having our meals there, while overlooking the incredible view. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could need to prepare your own meals. All the directions for anything you might need were incredibly clear and well written and Frank was always available for any questions. Switzerland was such a special trip for us and this property was one of the most memorable places we've stayed during our travels. We look forward to returning again the future.

Totally magnificent view and place to stay!

Our family of 6 enjoyed this wonderful home. Loved there was an elevator from garage for us over 70 folks. Everything you would need is here from pots and pans and dishes and glasses. Even aluminum foil and cling wrap. Plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and not be on top of each other. And the VIEW! beautiful even in the rain. Bathrooms with heated floors. Bunk beds for kids. And the VIEW! Even an outdoor grill. House is a little bit hard to find the first time around. It is right next to the bus stop. Also the road up is a little wonky. Beware of busses coming up as you are going down....the road is slim! Would return in a minute. The host was wonderful and replied immediately when we couldn't figure out how to use washer and dryer. Great communication. If Grindlewald is your place. Stay here.

Family Trip

The property is as advertised. Very beautiful, well equipped (better than my own house), clean and well maintained. We stayed with 3 adults and two kids for 5 days and it was perfect. Communication with owner was timely and consistent very helpful! The house, the terrace and the view were amazing. Jennifer July 2023

Beautiful Chalet

I loved everything about this place. The views are magnificent. We enjoyed sitting on the patio drinking wine ( a gift from the host) and relaxing after a day of exploring Grindelwald. I would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful time at Grindelwald!!

Our family had a wonderful time at the property. We love everything about it. Every room have fantastic views of mountain and chalet. We enjoyed our dinner outside at the balcony. We are driving by car and free garage parking is a big bonus for our stay at Grindelwald. We will come back and highly recommend this property. You will love it.

Grindelwald Paradise

Our family was so pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this beautiful and modern chalet. We stared in awe at the Eiger and Jungfrau from our front patio! Easy access to great hikes, restaurants and lots of family fun! We will definitely return some day.

One of the best properties we have ever stayed at

Communication was very good with host, provided lots of travel info and discounts. The house was so nice, large spaces, very clean and modern. Cappuccinos were awesome every morning! Views were just incredible with easy access to bus. Highly recommend this place!!!

Peaceful private and perfect apartment for a family

We all felt very comfortable in the apartment. The host was very communicative and gave us a detailed and clear instructions upon arrival. this place is just lovely and peaceful and fantastically located in the countryside of grindelwald, yet close enough to the shops for a great daily walks (if you enjoy walking) we certainly did and the grandparents too, they did their daily walks to the coffee shop at sunrise, it was perfect. There is plenty to do or just chill and unwind in the house. We loved it was cery child friendly, it was hard to get my kids out, since they have tons of fun games for outdoor and indoor (rainy days) fun. Thank you Frank, we will keep you as one of favorites places to come back!!!!

Eine sehr schöne Woche in Grindelwald

Angenehme Kommunikation und eine sehr schöne Wohnung mit genügend Platz für die Familie und Ausblick auf die Alpen. Auch wenn der Bus direkt vor der Haustür abfährt, sind wir doch immer mit dem Auto ins Terminal für täglich 7 CHF. Die Wohnung ist sehr zu empfehlen.
