Rustic elegance in the most central location for a perfect Grand Lake vacation. The Owen House has been owned by just three families in 120 years and remains a true time capsule. Perched on the glacial moraine left by Grand Lake’s formation millions of years ago, the property sits above the activity in a beautiful grove of aspen trees with sweeping lake views.
The front porch is a world unto itself, featuring hammocks, a swing, and classic wicker furniture for enjoying outdoor living at its finest. There are four bedrooms on the upper level, along with a main bathroom that includes both a shower and tub. A half bath is located on the main level. The spacious living room, complete with a wood-burning fireplace, is ideal for entertaining, conversation, and games. The kitchen comfortably accommodates groups and offers generous storage and counter space.
Off-street parking is available for two vehicles, with additional town parking nearby. The home is steps from two marinas (rent pontoon boats, Boston Whalers, paddleboards, and kayaks), the public beach, Grand Lake Yacht Club, and everything the town has to offer. Several coffee shops are just two minutes away, and numerous restaurants provide a variety of dining options. The main entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is a short drive, with multiple trailheads even closer.
Following a recent transition in long-term ownership, the property is now available for 30+ day stays during the summer and fall while restoration work continues in the off-season. Cared for over more than a century, it feels like stepping back in time. Major appliances and conveniences are well maintained, and the overall experience is best described as comfortably rustic. The setting offers a peaceful retreat amid the energy of town and surrounding mountains, with generous gathering areas and private bedrooms suited for families.
