If you’re looking for peace and quiet on vacation, you’ve come to the right place. Our house is located on a beautiful south-facing slope on the outskirts of town, with no through traffic—a place where you can truly relax and quickly forget about everyday life.
Our apartment has two bedrooms, a living room, and a lovely kitchen-dining area where, if you feel like cooking, you’ll find everything you need. And best of all, you’ll enjoy a magnificent view from our balcony. Here, you can start your day with breakfast on the sunny balcony.
In our garden, we have a large lawn where children can still play carefree (2,000 square meters). We also have a swing, a foosball table, and some toy vehicles for the “little ones”; lounge chairs are available for parents. You’re welcome to use our lovely barbecue area anytime—whether in the afternoon for coffee or in the evening for a barbecue. We’re happy to provide charcoal and barbecue accessories. Here, you can chat with other guests about the day’s adventures and wind down with a glass of wine or beer. And if you’d like, I’d be happy to give you a few hiking tips for the next day.
The Bavarian Forest is well-known as a hiking destination, and there are many beautiful hikes to enjoy here. We have 95 km of well-marked hiking trails. There are plenty of options for every guest. Guided hikes are also available. Beautiful hikes include the Kleiner Osser and Großer Osser (1,260 m), and the Arber—which is also famous for the World Cup—is our highest mountain at 1,465 m, as well as the Hoher Bogen, which features a chairlift and a toboggan run—and where you can also ski in the winter. A very beautiful destination is the Kleiner Arbersee with its floating islands and the Großer Arbersee. There’s also a wildlife park nearby. But for the “active” visitors, there are also designated cycling and mountain biking trails; you can get maps for these at our tourist information office. And since we’re located right on the Czech border, we also offer trips to Prague, Pilsen, and Mariánské Lázně.
Starting in 2012, our municipality offers our guests a free train and bus shuttle service within the Cham district. You can use this service as often as you like. And with gas prices so high, this is a great alternative.
In our neighboring towns, there are also many glassworks and lovely shops in Arnbruck and Bodenmais, where you can watch how glass is made and even try your hand at it yourself. But there are still many more attractions in our immediate vicinity. We have a beautiful nature and art park and a moorland area, where very interesting guided tours are also offered. And for the kids, our tourism association offers a wide range of recreational activities, from glass bead hunts to carriage rides and much more. Nordic walking courses are also available, as well as a guided tour with our “herb fairy” Monika, who will explain herbs that many people are no longer familiar with—and you’ll even get to sample a few afterward. And there are many other options as well.We have something for every age group—from the “little ones” to our “older guests”—including easy hikes and much more. A vacation with us is definitely anything but boring. You can also set out on several hikes from our house starten.Es, there’s a beautiful outdoor and indoor pool in Lam with a sauna, but we also have a lovely natural swimming lake in the town of Arrach—our “Seepark”—with water fountains and a raft-pulling activity, plus a nice playground.
