House and Farmstead: Rustic, cozy, and authentic. Many generations have lived here and left their mark. Some of the rooms are still in their original condition, featuring low doorways, box locks, and—on the upper floor—rustic wooden plank floors. The furniture takes you on a journey through time, spanning various stylistic eras, and reflects the possibilities and way of life of five generations: still “made in Germany,” partly handmade with the solid quality you’d expect, and still very well maintained—a testament to sustainability and appreciation. The house remains the heart of our extended family. Since it is no longer permanently occupied, we warmly invite vacation guests to join us on this journey through time.
The house features a fully equipped kitchen with an adjoining pantry/storage room, as well as a living-dining room. The kitchen is equipped for extensive cooking and baking. Spices are provided. Herbs may be harvested from the herb garden.
The naturally lit bathroom with a tub, shower, toilet, and washing machine is also located on the first floor.
The spacious bedrooms are located on the upper floor and in the attic. Some of them have a sink and/or an adjoining hallway.
The original furnishings from various eras are well-maintained.
An extensive game collection and a small library, including children’s books, are available.
Although situated in the densely built-up historic village center, the surrounding buildings—including barns, granaries, and stables—provide seclusion and privacy. During your stay, the house and the large courtyard, which is equipped with a lockable gate, are available for your exclusive use.

If you’d like to use the double rooms as single rooms, you’ll need to increase the number of guests accordingly when booking, as this cannot otherwise be reflected in the reservation. For example, if you’d like to stay with 4 people and book accordingly, you’ll receive 2 double rooms. In the event that the 4 people wish to use the double rooms as single rooms, you must specify 6 people when booking.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please specify this when booking (additional fee applies).



Village and Surroundings

The village (approx. 500 residents) is surrounded by green hills and is quietly situated with no through traffic. A stream runs through the historic village center, which features a Baroque church. There is a large, beautiful playground that also offers shade from a pavilion and surrounding trees. Since there are no major cities nearby, stargazers will find the night sky here perfect for observing the stars.

About one kilometer away is a shopping center with a bakery, butcher shop (serving lunch and snacks), pharmacy, supermarket, liquor store, and a newsstand/tobacco shop. The train station is located in neighboring Alsenz.

Short, interesting tours or walks—also suitable for children—start right from the vacation home, such as the “Seelberg Wine Trail” or the “Obermoschel Geoculture Trail” in the Niedermoschel/Obermoschel area. Walks to the ruins of Löwenstein Castle (Niedermoschel’s landmark) or Moschellandsburg (formerly a very large castle complex hosting a large and beautiful annual medieval/knights’ festival in early June). Grape harvests and wine festivals in September/October.
Archery for adults and children with instruction and equipment provided by the Niedermoschel Archery Club in exchange for a voluntary donation to the club’s fund.

The location is ideal for (cycling) hikes in the Palatinate region, the Nahe Valley, and the Glan Valley. The sun-drenched landscape is covered with meadows, vineyards, fields, and forests. Wine testings and delicious meals are also available in the surrounding villages of the Nahe wine region. Historic old towns in beautiful Meisenheim (“the Pearl of the Glan”), Bad Kreuznach, and Rockenhausen. There are numerous castles and castle ruins that invite you to enjoy a picnic or visit a restaurant, such as the Altenbaumburg and the Ebernburg. Canoeing on the Glan River. The Hildegard von Bingen Monastery at Disibodenberg in Odernheim; a barefoot trail and an open-air museum with a wine-growing museum in Sobernheim. The Schmittenstollen visitor mine on the Lemberg. Hiking and climbing at the Rotenfels—the highest sheer cliff north of the Alps and a challenging via ferrata. Magnificent views and deer sightings while hiking through the beautiful natural surroundings.
