One might be able to chalk this up to a new host just ironing out the kinks, but I will write the review and readers can determine for themselves.I booked the reservation last minute, the day before our arrival. I drove down and didn't think much about not getting check-in in instructions. I arrived an hour before check-in and messaged the host about the check-in instructions. I didn't receive a response so I called the phone number and it went to voicemail. I called the number a couple more times and still didn't receive a response. I was starting to get very nervous and called VRBO and asked them to intervene. Over the next 30 minutes or so, VRBO attempted to reach the host and could not. Right about check-in time the host still had not been reached so VRBO offered to cancel the reservation and find us another place to stay. Because I had driven 2 days with my child, my dog, and my cat and was very tired, I didn't want to continue to waste time trying to reach this host so I allowed VRBO to find me another place and cancel this reservation. So I never stayed at this place (I was forced by the app to rate cleanliness and value...ignore those ratings.)The host did eventually call me, maybe an hour or so after check-in, and apologized profusely and offered discounts. At that point, I didn't want to mess with anything besides going to the beach and so I declined all his offers. I was already checked in and settled into the new property anyway.
