Wonderful Stay

My family of four had a wonderful week's stay at the Kickback Shack. The location was great, access to a golf cart super helpful, and the home had everything we needed. Would highly recommend booking your vacation here!

great laid back stay!

our second time returning to the Kick Back Shack and we had a fantastic time. Julie is so responsive and we love coming to this laid back, family friendly rental on Harbor Island!

The kick back shack

This was such a wonderful, relaxing stay!! We loved everything about the area and the wonderful house!! It was so clean and Julie was great to work with!! Will definitely be staying again!

Great time at the beach

We had a great stay here. We loved the property and the use of the golf cart. Location was ideal for beach and hunting Island Park. We really liked that the property was a gated community. Julie was great to work with.

Beautiful House at Harbor Island

This is a lovely house. Beautifully decorated with a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The bedrooms and beds are very comfortable. Every possible item you need or want in a beach vacation house, including plush beach towels, beach chairs, and lots of fun board game. The golf cart is a definite plus. We spent a great deal of time relaxing and having meals on screened deck. Highly recommend and hope to book again in the future.

So Relaxing

The house and the stay was absolutely amazing! Very clean and had all of the accommodations. We did not want to leave. The golf cart is such a great amenity. Julie was very communicative and ensured we were able to get in and enjoy ourselves. We will definitely be back!

Perfect coastal getaway

We have been coming to Harbor Island for years now, and this was easily our best and favorite rental we've stayed in. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well appointed, and the owner was very responsive with any questions/needs we had. Loved having a golf cart to zip up to the beach in, and especially loved that it had a roof rack for carrying chairs/beach goods. Already looking forward to next year!

Beautiful get-a-way

This beach house was perfect for our family of 6. It had all the supplies we needed and was clean. The gated community is quiet and beautiful. This is a place to go when you are ready to slow down and relax. The island does not have any restaurants so you have to go outside of it for food etc. The owners are very helpful and attentive.

Beautiful Property / Excellent Host

We had a fantastic experience with this property and with the owner and will definitely be back. The house and property are in excellent shape. Everything we needed for the week was provided. The owner was very responsive, helpful and friendly. We loved the back porch overlooking the lagoon! Sitting under a fan and watching a gator swim by was a highlight for sure! We loved everything about this property and cannot wait to return!

Harbor Island Gem

We loved our week at Harbor Island. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch visiting and watching the marsh change with the tides. Our rental home was clean, spacious, lovely and comfortable. Julie was attentive and easy to work with. Some of our favorite activities were bird and alligator watching, walking with the sea turtle patrol, visiting Hunting State Park and visiting Parris Island. We hope to return!

Perfect summer escape

We had an amazing time staying in this sweet house on the marsh for our family vacation. The house was exceptionally clean, spacious, and thoughtfully stocked. The owner had even labeled lights, cabinets, and tvs for ease of use. Communicating with Julie was quick and easy. We used the nearby pool and complimentary pass to Hunting Island every day, as well as the golf cart. Watched egrets, ibis, and even a gator while lounging on the screen porch. Would love to come back!

Wonderful stay

All in all a wonderful stay. Close to everything, just used to being on the odd number houses on the other side of the street with the open marsh view. This home has a very nice view of the marsh and a lovely sunset view. I love that Nautical Watch has a separate pool just for the sub division, we had it all to our own both times we went . Owner has done a wonderful job remodeling. Wish there were a few extra things in the home, a couple of mixing bowls, some hooks near the front door and an in wall TP holder in the second bath. Just suggestions, all are not really a problem. We had a wonderful stay!

Perfect!

We can't say enough about the great stay we had! Our 5 minute walk to the beach each day was amazing. We saw so much wildlife - alligators, turtles galore and so many different birds. We played pickleball and had a blast. Julie's place was perfect - such a cute beach house and had everything that we needed. The beds were super comfy too. We had a pass to the state park, which was only a few minutes away by car - amazing! We also loved going into Beaufort - what a quaint little town. Thank you so much Julie, for sharing your little bit of heaven with us. You really were the perfect host - always available and super helpful. We will be back - I promise!

Beautiful home in scenic location for an intergenerational family vacation

Julie’s lovely house on scenic Harbor Island was the perfect destination for a vacation with my parents, husband and two kids. The home was well maintained and comfortable, providing all we could need for our trip. We appreciated the convenient access to many beach items like towels, chairs, umbrella, wagon and sand toys — which otherwise we would have had to pack — and lots of little extras inside such as books and board games for kids and adults. The space was a perfect fit for us with a bedroom for each adult couple and a separate one with two twin beds for our kids. The location is natural with plenty to explore for those seeking some adventure on their vacation, but also very quiet and laid back for those looking simply to relax. The golf cart made it a breeze to see all Harbor Island has to offer — including two pools, sports courts, a playground, a gift shop/convenience store, and numerous beach access points — though the island is small enough that you could easily walk most places. The beach was ideal for little kids since it was relatively shallow and very calm with sandbars and wildlife. For those seeking bigger waves or deeper water, we loved the included pass to Hunting Island State Park, just a few minutes’ drive away. There are no restaurants on Harbor Island, but several good options within a short drive outside the gates. Julie was responsive and kindly checked in with us throughout the week. All in all, this was an ideal place for a family week at the beach.
