Canvas Glamping Tent On 18 Acres Near State Parks, Trails, and Waterfalls

THE GETAWAY ON RANGER CREEK

Your Adventure Basecamp On the South Cumberland Plateau

Centrally located for Tennessee`s top outdoor destinations:

- The Caverns underground concert venue (19 mi)
- Coalmont OHV Park (11 mi) (trailer parking)
- Fast Farms MotorX (11 mi)
- Greeter Falls (7 mi)
- Foster Falls (12 mi)
- Savage Gulf State Park (13 mi)
- South Cumberland State Park (15 mi)
- Plus hundreds of miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, and dark sky stargazing

THE SPACE

Our 130-square-foot canvas Glamping Tent sits on a raised wooden platform in the woods with string lights overhead and a queen bed inside. It`s simple, comfortable, and about as close to sleeping outdoors as you can get with a real memory foam mattress under you. A dorm-sized refrigerator and microwave are inside the tent.

Your 130-square-foot deck (half covered, half open) is right outside the front flap. An L-shaped couch with a side table for lounging, and a dining table for two for meals outside. A comfortable spot for morning coffee, relaxing afternoons, and quiet evenings with only the trees as your backdrop. The covered half means a rainy day doesn`t keep you inside. A lit walkway connects the parking area to the tent, so coming back after dark is easy.

Your private bathroom is in the bathhouse, a 41-second walk from the tent. The bathhouse also has a Keurig coffee bar with ground coffee and K-cups. Dishes, pots, pans, and utensils are handled through the bathhouse cabinet system (grab clean ones from the cabinet, return dirty ones when you`re done, and we take care of the rest).

You also have your own fire pit and propane grill just steps from the tent.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Climate Control: The Glamping Tent is NOT climate-controlled. It is a canvas tent in the woods. We provide a 1500W space heater and a fan, but temperatures inside will follow outdoor conditions closely. Summer nights can be warm; winter nights can be cold. If you need reliable heating or air conditioning, this is not the right unit for you.

Woodland Setting: Our Glamping Tent sits in the woods, which means occasional insect visitors are part of the experience. You may encounter ladybugs, beetles, the occasional spider, and various flying insects inside. Ants can also find their way in if food or crumbs are left out, so keeping surfaces clean goes a long way. We use natural pest treatments and maintain regular cleaning, but complete bug-free living isn`t possible in a forest setting. If you need a fully sealed indoor environment, our Glamping Tent may not be the right fit.

THE PROPERTY

Explore our 18 acres of naturally maintained woods with hiking trails, a peaceful pond (say hello to our friendly Muscovy ducks!), two creeks, and quiet spots perfect for reading, photography, painting, meditation, writing your next hit song, or simply relaxing. A creekside meadow surrounded by tall grasses, thousands of ferns, and delicate Lady Slippers makes a great spot for a picnic or some quiet time. You`ll likely see whitetail deer and wild turkeys wandering through, especially at sunrise and sunset.

Our quirky flock of ducks and chickens roam the property freely, keeping mosquitoes and ticks naturally low. Seriously, it`s amazing how few mosquitoes you`ll encounter, considering we`re in the Tennessee woods!

The trade-off for greatly reduced mosquitoes and ticks is some periodic noise from our hens and roosters. We keep the chickens contained in the Coop until 8:00 AM. After 8:00 AM, you will hear periodic crowing, and the hens may perform their `egg song` after laying an egg, because they are very proud when they do!

They`re friendly, harmless, and always appreciate leftover snacks. The chickens and ducks may hang out around your unit. Consider them your personal mosquito and bug extermination crew.

Our Friendly Border Collies: Four Border Collies live on the property with us. They stay in our residence or their secure kennel except for supervised bathroom breaks and exercise. They never enter guest units. You may occasionally see them outside under our supervision. They are 100% non-aggressive but may enthusiastically run up to you expecting pets and attention.

ADVENTURE AWAITS

The Caverns (19 mi): This isn`t your average concert venue. Descend into a massive natural cave where the temperature stays a perfect 59 degrees year-round, and the acoustics are so pure that PBS films performances here. Named ACM`s Theater of the Year.

Greeter Falls (7 mi): A 1.5-mile loop through gorges and rock formations to twin waterfalls, including a swimming hole at the base. One of the most popular hikes on the plateau.

Foster Falls (12 mi): A 60-foot waterfall with a short but steep trail to the base. One of the most photographed waterfalls in Tennessee.

Savage Gulf State Park (13 mi): Over 55 miles of trails through gorges and old-growth forest. The Stone Door overlook is worth the trip alone.

Coalmont OHV Park (11 mi): Off-highway vehicle trails with trailer parking. A great option for ATV and side-by-side riders.

Fall Creek Falls (43 mi): Tennessee`s tallest waterfall at 256 feet, set inside one of the state`s largest parks.

Plus more waterfalls within reach: Boardtree Falls (7 mi), Bridal Veil Falls (11 mi), Laurel Falls (12 mi), Blue Hole Falls (20 mi), Machine Falls (28 mi), Rutledge Falls (38 mi). South Cumberland State Park (15 mi) connects to over 90 miles of trails. Fast Farms MotorX (11 mi) for motocross tracks and riding areas.

GOOD TO KNOW

You`ll rarely see us unless you need something, but if you spot us outside, feel free to stop and chat. You can also reach us anytime by text or phone for help or local recommendations.

The Glamping Tent at The Getaway on Ranger Creek sits in a beautiful, secluded, and quiet remote area on Tennessee`s South Cumberland Plateau, central to state parks, hiking, waterfalls, The Caverns, and Fast Farms MotorX. However, the closest grocery store is an 8-minute drive, the closest restaurant is a 10-minute drive, and the closest gas station/convenience store is a 7-minute drive. We recommend stocking up on groceries before heading up the mountain.

Guests will need their own vehicle to reach and enjoy the property. Ride-sharing services are extremely limited in this area and should not be relied on. If you`re attending a show at The Caverns or Bonnaroo, private shuttle services are available. Details are in your Digital Guidebook, or you can search online for current options.

This isn`t a luxury resort; it`s a genuine nature experience. If you want perfectly manicured grounds, room service, and zero wildlife encounters, this isn`t your place. But if you want crickets at night, birdsong in the morning, and nothing on your schedule but the outdoors, you`re going to like it here.

Thank you so much, Shad! So glad the Glamping Tent with Deck was a fun one, and that the coffee bar got put to good use. A good morning cup really does make a stay. Would love to host you again at The Getaway on Ranger Creek sometime! :)

We're Jeremy and Tiffany, and we live on the property with our four Border Collies, a flock of Muscovy ducks, and free-roaming chickens. We're hands-on but respect your privacy. Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The Getaway on Ranger Creek sits on Tennessee's South Cumberland Plateau, surrounded by state parks, gorges, and some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Southeast. The Caverns, one of the most unique live music venues in the country, is just 19 miles away. The area is dark sky friendly, so expect incredible stargazing on clear nights. It's quiet, rural, and exactly the kind of place where you remember why you wanted to get outside in the first place.
