This Treehouse Retreat IS A DESTINATION IN ITSELF. An elevator lifts you to the Treehouse Level for views of 7 Fourteeners and the Great Sand Dunes. There's a fully stocked kitchen, a Bosch refrigerator, oven, dishwasher and induction cook-top, while you enjoy Alexa controlled lighting and music, a two-sided fireplace, an exercise bike and yoga equipment, a pellet grill and a 3rd story deck with a 360 degree of view of the entire San Luis Valley of Colorado. Starlink internet provides streaming services on the 65" Samsung Frame TV, but you may want to just enjoy the spectacular views and listen to the QUIET from our wrap around deck, hike in our 3 acre pinion forest, or gaze at the millions of stars visible in our dark sky.
You never need to leave The Lovers Way Treehouse Retreat. It is an island of privacy; not just a place to stay in the San Luis Valley. This is where you to RETREAT and spend that quality time you often dream of with your lover, your friends or family that you love.

My wife and I discovered that we both shared an affection for the San Luis Valley in Colorado while dating. I worked on a film here and she attended Adams State College in Alamosa. On a visit to the valley I showed her the Rito Alto Church where we filmed part of the PBS film, LAND OF LITTLE RAIN, and a year later we were married there. Over the years, we returned to celebrate our anniversary and began to buy land to build our dream house. In 2022, we broke ground and moved into our unfinished home in February of 2024. Sadly, by this time my wife had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, but she got to spend her last days in our Lovers Retreat. The house wasn't quite complete when she left us; so people often ask me why I finished the house. It's because this is a Retreat for Lovers. I finished this place for you. Please come have a quiet and private retreat in our Treehouse with your lover or with friends or family that you love.

The Lovers Way Treehouse Retreat living spaces are among the tree tops in our 4.5 acre pinion forest, backing up to a 20 acre greeenbelt. Our elevator takes you up to views of the four Crestone 14,000 foot peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the Great Sand Dunes National Park, the three 14,000 ft peaks that make up Mount Blanca and the San Juan Mountains on the other side of the 50 mile wide San Luis Valley (https://www.facebook.com/reel/2135834417169588).
The QUIET here is LOUD. Deer often walk past our house and the stars are amazing.

This is our home when you're not here; so, we have a fully stocked kitchen with all Bosch appliances, Alexa controlled lights and music, all the popular streaming services on our Samsung 65" Frame TV (with gallery app of over 3000 works of art), a double-sided fireplace, and covered parking. You are not a customer to us. As OUR GUEST, we treat you as we would if we shared our home with our best friends or with members of our family. That's why you don't need to buy flour to make your favorite cake or pie. Take a look at our spice drawer and cooking utensils in the photos section. We have a pellet grill to smoke your favorite meats.

Our third story deck provides a 360 degree view of the entire area with reclining chairs and a chase lounge to watch the stars under weighted blankets. This is not just a place to rent while visiting the area. This can be your DESTINATION, to spend quiet time with people you love on Lovers Way.
