Our recent stay presented a few challenges that we feel future guests and the host should be aware of.Our arrival was late in the evening, and we parked on the street as per the host's instructions.Unfortunately, we were unaware of a parking restriction and received a fine the following day, which was an unexpected expense.During our stay, we experienced some difficulties with the toilet, which made flushing a challenge. We reported this to the host , but unfortunately, it ultimately required a plumber's visit. We covered the full cost of the repair ($450) to resolve the matter, though we had hoped to discuss a shared responsibility given the circumstances.
In addition, we encountered a few other inconveniences. The basement phone reption was very poor, which caused delays in our communication with the host. The temperature in the unit was also uncomfortably cold, and despite our requests to adjust it, we weren't able to control the thermostat ourselves. We also noticed that a few basic amenities, such as a kettle, microwave, dishwashand a garbage bin, were not available.
We understand that the host may not have experienced these issues previously, but we felt our concerns could have been met with more understanding. While we appreciated having a place to stay, the combination of the repair costs and the host's response to our concerns left us feeling a bit disappointed. We trust the host will take this feedback constructively to improve the guest experience for future guests
