The Space:

Affectionately nicknamed The Groggy Anchor, this stunning restoration dates to the early 1800s and is situated on the most charming grass lane in the heart of Provincetown's idyllic West End. You’ll love the vintage charm, convenient office, and light-filled all-suite layout. Prepare delicious dishes in the gorgeous full kitchen featuring a converted Glenwood stove, or step out to the yard for an afternoon cookout on the private gas grill. Steps from the beach, this locale is also walking distance to Provincetown’s top eateries and attractions. Stately furnishings and impeccably curated antiques adorn the living area, detailed with a large smart TV. Elsewhere, a small office provides a quiet workspace. The fenced yards feature attractive landscaping and Adirondack chairs for morning coffee among beautiful gardens. Tucked away off Commercial Street near Captain Jack’s Wharf, this historic locale is only steps from the beach and downtown fun. Find pubs, coffee shops, and fresh seafood eateries within walking distance. Local boutiques, bike rentals, and fishing charters are also a short stroll away. Sleep soundly beneath cathedral ceilings in the Garden Suite, appointed with a private entrance, and access to the backyard. The en suite bathroom holds a claw-foot tub/shower combination. Located in the front of the house, the Parlor Suite boasts an adjoining sitting room/office and an en suite bathroom with a marble walk-in shower. Occupying the entire second floor, the Captain’s Quarters is an idyllic third suite with an en suite bathroom with a marble walk-in shower. The beauty and storybook quaintness of this house is unmatched. We have been coming to PTown for fifteen years and this is the most gorgeous property I’ve stayed in. The interior decoration is so thoughtful. The grounds are also so lovingly maintained. Such a special place. A truly memorable stay!

Beautiful home in excellent location

This cottage is lovely. It’s so beautifully decorated it was almost like stating in a little museum. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and complete privacy from the others. It was really perfect for us.

Quaint weekend retreat

Great property for 3 adult couples. Home had all we needed, clean and perfect walking distance to walk to restaurants, shops, etc. Next time will be sure to stay a bit longer.

beautiful historic property a block from the beach

Beautifully restored historic property near shops and beach. Lots of tasteful clutter unfortunately means there is little surface space to use, especially in one of the bed and bathroom suites. Plants are dead. Setup is great for 3 couples with 3 en suites.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What a stunning place! A couple friends and I escaped to Provincetown. When we arrived, we were welcomed with historic charm and contemporary conveniences. The sun warmed our hearts and the waves cleared our minds. Each of us needed space to continue to "work from home." The house easily accommodated three workstations, while the historic setting and ocean waves tempted us away from our computer screens.Provincetown offers an abundance of activities and the home is well-positioned to explore the historic streets and walk to the shops downtown. In the spring offseason, many restaurants are open to fill you with libations and oceanside meals. We packed up a picnic and hiked the dunes, yet also walked right into famed establishments for grub on the beach. The parking spot that comes with the home is a grand perk and made exploring spots further afield super easy. In the summer season, you are close enough to the action, but situated in a wee oasis to be able to escape and recharge. Queue the sea shanties and book a stay. Nothing beats the Groggy Anchor.

Reviewer Comments: Our weekend stay at the Groggy Anchor was simply perfect.Built by a sea captain in the 1700's, the home has been painstakingly restored and modernized to provide all the amenities expected of 5 star accommodations, while maintaining the charm and character of a historic home.Starting with the most beautiful kitchen we've ever seen - you'll find modern appliances, navy blue cabinets, and butcherblock counters that have been paired with a stunning antique Glenwood stove that nods to the home's history. You'll find all the tools you need to make a grand meal (or just plate your takeout from Sal's).With three large bedrooms each with a modern en suite bathroom, plus an office, the home is spacious and accommodating for a larger family or group.The large living room and dining space provide ample room to relax and take in the stunning decor. Every nook and cranny has been perfectly curated with nautical art and objects that accentuate the history and charm of this home.Located in the West (best) end of Provincetown - the home is mere steps to the beach and Captain Jack's wharf and an easy 5-10 minute walk to downtown or some of the best beach hikes in Ptown.We truly loved our stay at the Groggy Anchor and cannot wait to come back.
