Callantsoog has been a very popular seaside resort for many years. The beautiful wide sandy beach, clean seawater and fine beach pavilions, some of which are open all year round, certainly contribute to this. Callantsoog has a cosy centre where you have a wide choice of restaurants whether you go for a more luxurious meal or just want some chips, there are plenty of options. There are also some nice boutiques and a supermarket open 7 days a week. Nature lovers should definitely visit the Zwanenwater. While walking through this unique nature area consisting of woods, fens and heathland, you will find peace and quiet. The area is home to many special birds, including a spoonbill colony.
