Welcome to Bluestone Cottage | Historic Goshen Retreat with Pool & Litchfield County Charm

Bluestone Cottage isn't a modern cookie cutter vacation home. It's an authentic New England farmhouse where creaky floors, antique doors, and nearly three centuries of history are all part of the experience. If you're looking for character, comfort, and the charm of country living, you've found it.

Step into a piece of Connecticut history at this beautifully preserved 3-bedroom, 2-bath home in Goshen, originally built in 1735 and thoughtfully expanded in 1865.

Thank you so much! We especially love hearing that you appreciated the history of this very special home. So much of what makes Bluestone Cottage unique is the character and history preserved through the years, and we love sharing that with our guests. We absolutely loved everything about our stay at Bluestone Cottage. While the house certainly retains many of its 300-year-old historical details, it also has all the modern conveniences we could have wanted, and endless amounts of charm. The kitchen is laid out to make it easy for multiple people to work at once, and the appliances are new and easy to use. There is a butcher block on the counter with very nice set of sharp knives, and crock and drawer full of all kinds of cooking utensils. A well-stocked spice cabinet is at your disposal. The tables in the kitchen and dining room both can accommodate six people with room to spare, and having a bedroom on the main floor made the house easy to navigate for grandparents. The AC units kept the bedrooms cool, but we really only needed them on one of our four night stay in August. For the other nights, open windows or fans were all we needed to achieve a perfect temperature for sleeping. The property setting is gorgeous too. We watched deer wander the grounds and our dog delighted in tracking field mice to the woods, while we splashed in the pool for hours. We did not feel the need to venture out much, but when we did, we enjoyed AJ's and Goshen Pizza in Goshen, @the Corner in Litchfield center, and the Sunset Meadow Vineyard. We hope to be able to visit again -- it was the perfect location for our family to gather! Thank you, Tony and Jenna!

Thank you for such an incredibly thoughtful review! We have honestly been blown away by the response to Bluestone Cottage in just the first few months of welcoming guests. We knew this 300-year-old home was special, but it has been so much fun watching guest after guest recognize its charm and fall in love with it too. You captured so much of what makes Bluestone wonderful: the history and character, the beautifully equipped kitchen, room for a family to gather, and, of course, that gorgeous property and pool. We especially love hearing about grandparents, kids, and even the dog all enjoying the house and grounds in their own way. That is exactly what we hoped this home would be - a place where everyone can settle in, slow down and spend time together. It sounds like you experienced Bluestone exactly as it should be enjoyed, right down to the deer wandering through the property and a few trips out to explore Goshen and Litchfield. Thank you for choosing Bluestone Cottage for your family gathering and for taking the time to share so many details about your stay. We would absolutely love to welcome all of you back!
