For me it's the perfect balance: you can escape the hustle of town and relax among lush greenery and quiet local life, then dive into everything Ubud is famous for whenever you like.

Away from the crowded tourist zones, you find the warm hospitality Bali is known for, with little warungs, cafés, and scenic back-roads to discover. And it's wonderfully placed — central Ubud, the Sacred Monkey Forest, and Ubud Palace are around 15 minutes by car (quicker by scooter), with the Tegalalang rice terraces, temples, and waterfalls all close by. Whether you want to explore Ubud's art markets and restaurants or simply unwind by the pool surrounded by nature, it's the kind of serene base that lets you truly slow down — exactly what Ubud is meant to be.
