The vacation rental is located on the first floor and in the attic of the house; the two floors are connected by a wooden ladder. Each level is equipped with a large double bed, a flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom. An open-concept kitchen is located on the first level, where a large sofa in the spacious living-dining area invites you to relax.
The large garden, which overlooks the valley, features a barrel sauna with a garden shower and a construction trailer. The sauna is available for use at cost. Barbecue facilities are also available. Especially on warm summer days, we recommend enjoying breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine while taking in the view of the valley.
The house is located right on the edge of the forest with access to the Rothaarsteig trail, but there are also other beautiful loop trails ideal for hiking, jogging, or mountain biking—for example, the 5-km loop around the nearby reservoir, which features a restaurant serving delicious food and a large beer garden.
The historic town center, with a wide range of shopping options (supermarkets, drugstore, bakery, butcher) and restaurants—including one with a lovely beer garden—is 1.5 km away. You can also reach it on foot via beautiful walking paths, passing chickens and ponies along the way. Especially as a way to wind down after an active day, this is the perfect spot on warm days to enjoy one (or more) cool drinks on the terrace of a restaurant by the market; but even on cold winter days, these establishments in old half-timbered houses retain their typical Siegerland charm.
Finally, the vacation rental is also ideal for a break from the daily work routine—perhaps while working from home with high-speed internet and the recreational opportunities mentioned above.
