The vacation rental is centrally located, so you can reach the Darsser Arche, the bakery, bike rental, or cafes and restaurants in less than 10 minutes.
Wieck has several small restaurants, and the bakery is just a 7-minute walk away. You can explore our beautiful island by bike—for example, to the West Beach, which is located in the national park—and you can also reach the Baltic Sea in no time, since we’re situated along the European Cycle Route. You can store your bikes in a lockable shed.
Wieck a. Darß is located on the southern side of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula, nestled between water, forest, and vast meadows. It is a former—and still quite idyllic—farming, fishing, and seafaring village. The roofs of many old and new houses, like ours, are thatched with reeds, and their decorative features include wooden siding, gable crests, and carved and painted front doors. The Darß Peninsula, as unspoiled as it is romantic, is one of the crown jewels of Germany’s natural heritage and part of the “Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft” National Park. It is a landscape where you can leave everyday life behind in every season—whether swimming, hiking, biking, horseback riding, or taking a carriage ride; flying kites or skating on the ice; or however and whenever you choose to spend time outdoors— here you can breathe in the crisp sea air, the oxygen-rich forest air, or enjoy the mild, invigorating climate of the Bodden area, tempered by the forest that lies just offshore. The Darß Forest stretches for kilometers right up to the sea, and on long hikes along the unspoiled West Beach, you’re sure to find your own personal vacation souvenirs, such as “Hühnergötter,” roots washed by the Satzwaaer, or even amber.
How to get there:
