This comfortable vacation home is located in a stunning setting on Lake Geiseltal, next to the Mücheln Marina, with cafés and restaurants perfect for dining and strolling.
With approximately 86 m² of space, including two bedrooms, there’s plenty of room for four people—ideal for a family with children.
Nestled idyllically here—just a stone’s throw from the “Haus am See” vacation home—is Lake Geiseltal, with its crystal-clear waters, set within the former open-pit lignite mine. At the end of the lignite era, the flooding of the area began in 2005. By 2011, nature had completely reclaimed this highly fertile area. Thus, the flora and fauna—still quite diverse—in the Saale-Unstrut-Triasland Nature Park in Central Germany created yet another new oasis. The Geiseltalsee is up to 78 meters deep and offers an idyllic atmosphere with approximately 41 kilometers of predominantly natural, tree-lined shoreline and small islands. Covering nearly 18.4 km², it is Germany’s largest artificial lake.
As part of the reclamation efforts, the “Goldener Steiger” vineyard was also established through great dedication. There, at the on-site organic restaurant, you can enjoy light meals and a selection of the region’s outstanding, world-renowned Saale-Unstrut wines while taking in the fantastic view of Lake Geiseltal. You can also admire an almost extinct breed of cattle here: the Red Harz Highland Cattle. You can reach this and other attractions—such as the Geiseltal Café in the Pfännerhall (see below), a 14-meter-high observation tower with a unique view of Lake Geiseltal and rare bird species, the Geiseltalsee Diving Center in Frankleben, and the Mücheln Marina—via the Weinbergbahn railway and the bike path, which takes you around the lake (25 km loop).
Thus, the beautiful natural surroundings, the wide range of water sports (boat rentals, stand-up paddleboarding, pedal boats, and motorboats), and excursion destinations—including some true hidden gems—all combine to offer interesting and relaxing vacation days. Pure relaxation, just the way you want it.
