The approximately 100-year-old Kellerstöckl has been lovingly renovated to meet 21st-century standards. Surrounded by vineyards, you’ll have a 3,000-square-meter garden at your disposal. On sunny days, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner on the terrace, which, of course, also features a grill.<br>In the fall, you can enjoy the juicy grapes straight from the vines; the variety grown here is called Isabella, one of the oldest grape varieties, from which the regionally famous Uhudler wine is produced.<br>The house is equipped with all modern amenities: a fully equipped kitchen; a very nice, large, comfortable box-spring bed in the bedroom; a pull-out couch in the living room; a dining table in the living room; and a bathroom with a shower. The living room and bedroom are equipped with satellite TV, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.<br><br>Spend your vacation in the vineyards of Eisenberg; you’ll be living on the Hungarian side of Eisenberg—if you drive 700 meters up the highway from the house, you’ll already be in Austria. The village is called Vaskeresztes (German: “Großdorf”), one of the last German-speaking communities in western Hungary; this region—Burgenland and Eisenburg—was part of German-Hungary until 1921. There are numerous activities that will make your vacation unforgettable. Right in town, you can go fishing on a man-made lake, go cycling, and stop for a bite to eat at the many Heurigen and Buschenschank (wine taverns) in Austria or Hungary. Hike through the beautiful vineyards of Eisenberg. Take day trips to the numerous thermal spas in Austria (Bad Waltersdorf, Bad Blumau, etc.), all within a radius of 30 to 40 km. The beautiful Roman city of Szombathely—meaning “Stone on the Meadow” in German—is well worth a visit. Just 14 km from your accommodation, you’ll find various museums, the Baroque bishop’s residence with the cathedral in the background, and the Cathedral of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary—all must-see attractions. The lake in the heart of Szombathely is perfect for boating.
