This was absolutely the best rental we have ever stayed in! It exceeded all of our expectations. Not only was it pristine but it was fully stocked with anything we could possibly need. The garden was beautiful, even in winter. The hosts were kind, welcoming, and informative about their property and the surrounding areas. We found the home so romantic and are honestly sad to be leaving.

More beautiful than the description

Amazing home. We (2 adults, 2 teens) loved our stay in the water tower. It was the most fully prepared and stocked Vrbo i have ever stayed in, and had a really cool folding bed in the sitting room. Loved the chickens, THE GARDEN, and all the thriving plants in every window. We were lucky to see the Queen of the Night cactus share her rare bloom. Claus and Roger were very responsive and offered great suggestions about options for exploration. Easy access to many interesting places. Would love to go back some day!

Perfect weekend

We had a perfect stay at the Water tower. We went to Phantasialand, which is a 15 min drive from the location. The house was in perfect condition, clean and everything was taken care of, from towels, beds and even food and drinks. Thank you to the owners!

Unique opportunity!

We had an amazing time staying at the water tower for two nights! Such a quaint quiet neighborhood. The location was great for us to venture to Belgium one day and up to Cologne on the second. So many details to list - fresh eggs from the chickens who live on the property, a stunning garden and the most pleasant hosts.

Amazing attention to detail ♥️

The property is just stunning, inside and out. Everything you could possibly need is thought about by the wonderful hosts. They provided some food essentials including vegan options which was perfect as my husband is Vegan. The rooms are well equipped, clean and decorated so beautifully. We had a wonderful time. 😀

Our trip took us to Germany to visit the Christmas Markets and the tower was the perfect place to adventure out to all the different villages. We arrived late in the evening and found fresh eggs, bread, milk, pasta etc left for us in the kitchen. It was a lifesaver in the morning. It was super clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's hard to put into words how incredible our stay was at the tower. It us such a unique property...it feels like you stepped into a fairy tale!10/10 recommend.

A lot of stairs in a rural setting

This property is on four storeys with stairs between each and not within walking distance of any shops or cafes. If that's going to be a problem for you I'd not recommend this property. For us it was perfect. We were travelling by car and the property was perfectly located mid way between Cologne and Bonn. It was an easy drive to both cities. The house itself is beautifully fitted out and was more than comfortable for our family of two parents and three kids.

Beautifully converted water tower over four floors. Living room, kitchen and main bathroom on the ground floor, bedroom with quality double sofa bed on the first floor, small bathroom and bedroom with double bed on the third floor, and large bedroom with double bed on the fourth floor. Lovely and cool inside even when the weather was hot (but with heating for if it got cold). Tastefully appointed with a mixture of modern furniture and more classic styles. Very clean and appointed with quality items, in particular, the kitchen which was very well stocked with cutlery, utensils and welcoming items like eggs (from the chickens), milk, wine, butter and popcorn :-) , etc. We could not find anything that we lacked. Added to that, there was a beautiful garden, with multiple sitting areas, and of course the chickens. The local area is made up of countryside (growing a lot of apples and pears) and villages and has plenty of places to visit and eat and drink and of course Bonn and Cologne are relatively close. Claus and Rüdiger were excellent hosts and put a lot of effort into making it a beautiful visit.

A perfect outer city stay!

The hosts clearly care about their guests. Their property is lovely and attention to every detail is made for their guests comfort. Our family of 4 were thrilled with the water tower as a living space. It is so unique and fun. It was very nicely decorated and comfortable with ‘little extras’ provided to leave guests want for nothing. Roger and Claus went above and beyond. Such friendly and hospitable hosts. The property is located in a very quiet suburban neighbourhood. The nearest towns are easy to access and have all you need for shopping needs. In these towns you can catch trains into Cologne. Very convenient. We highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet, unique, and lovingly cared for accommodation, to stay at the Water Tower house. It is not an ideal place for anyone with mobility issues due to the number of stairs, but everyone else will enjoy it immensely. Thank you Roger and Claus. We’d love to come back.

Ankommen und sich sofort willkommen fühlen.Der Aufenthalt im Wasserturm war etwas ganz Besonderes, man weiß gar nicht wo man anfangen soll. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Kommunikation war schnell und reibungslos. Die Wohnung ist sehr gemütlich, mit viel Liebe eingerichtet und extrem sauber. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, es ist alles da, was man braucht. Zudem waren der Kühlschrank und die Schränke so gut gefüllt, dass man sofort das Gefühl hatte, Freunde zu besuchen. Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt.

Ankommen und wohlfühlen - das war unser erstes Empfinden als wir in dieser architektonisch tollen Unterkunft eintrafen, und dabei ist es bis zum Schluss geblieben. Der Wasserturm ist eine wirklich individuelle Wohnstätte inmitten eines bezaubernden Gartens mit vielen bunten Blumen, auch mit einigen Hühnern.Die Ausstattung, vorrangig die der Küche, ließ bei uns keine Wünsche offen. Alles ist sehr gepflegt, sauber, durchdacht gestaltet und liebevoll eingerichtet.Unsere Gastgeber waren außergewöhnlich herzlich, aufmerksam und trugen dazu bei, unseren Aufenthalt besonders angenehm zu empfinden.Wer was Besonderes sucht, ist hier genau richtig - einfach genießen, staunen und wiederkommen wollen.

Der Wasserturm ist mit sehr viel Liebe und kleinen Details eingerichtet und man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment wohl. Idyllisch

Speziell, aussergewöhnlich, herrlich... das Ambiente war fantastisch. In einem Wasserturm zu übernachten, einfach der Hammer. Obwohl es draussen über 35 Celsius war, im Turm war ist kühl. Es viel Liebe zum Detail erkennbar. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet, nicht nur mit Küchenutensilien, ja auch mit Lebensmitteln (Gewürze, Hönig, Milch im Kühlschrank, Teigwaren, Tee, Kaffee...). Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Garten lud zum morgentlichen Kaffee ein bei Sonnenaufgang, Vogelzwitschern und kunterbunten Pflanzen. Sehr ruhig. Wir sind begeistert. Vielen lieben Dank.

Steiler Aufenthalt

Unser Aufenthalt im Wasserturm war gigantisch. Die Vermieter waren super sympathisch und die Wohnung war sehr sauber und richtig gut ausgestattet. Wir hatten noch nie eine so gute Austattung an Lebensmitteln, Badutensilien und sonstigem. Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt und wir würden sehr gerne wieder kommen, wenn wir in der Nähe sind.
