I am so pleased you had a good time and love the idea of your boy in his own 'cave'. Having the basement/playroom/cave (!) is one of the things that makes Julanda such a good family house as kids and adults can have their own separate social spaces. I am glad you managed to get to Crete in these troubled times. I am sure the sunshine and scenery lifted spirits all round as it is such a beautiful place.

Hi Jennifer - I am pleased you had a lovely stay and enjoyed the location and views. Plaka is a fantastic holiday destination. The Homeaway website lets owners list the facilities and holiday makers can then decide if the property meets their needs. It would be odd to work the reverse way and describe what isn’t available. Your rating seems to be based on choosing a property that didn't meet the requirements of your party for air conditioning and stair gates. As you note other renters have found the fans keep things cool enough. I have updated the property description to emphasise that small children need careful supervision as there are a number of staircases to navigate. It is clear from the photo of the pool and the open stairs down to it that vigilance would be required. The railings were renovated last year but I will ask the property manager to make another safety check. I am glad you would recommend the villa for adults and older children and hope you will want to return to this lovely part of the island sometime in the future.

Really pleased you had a relaxing time. We love the fact that everything is within easy walking distance so you don’t have to worry about driving. Glad it provided the perfect break.

I am so pleased that you had a good time. I think the Apokoronas is the nicest part of Crete and there is so much to see and do or if you just want to chill it is great sitting on the terrace and watching all the ships out in Souda Bay. Thank you for your review.
