This vacation rental could just as easily be offered as a vacation home. It’s located in the annex of a beautiful half-timbered building and has its own entrance. You’ll be the only ones using this entrance, so you’ll hardly notice the other residents. There are also no other apartments in this annex. So it’s almost like a vacation home.
The apartment is located on the first floor of the annex and covers an area of about 70m². Let’s take a quick tour. As soon as you come up the stairs, you’ll find a coat rack and a shoe cabinet just before the actual apartment door. After the front door, you’ll enter the hallway; the bathroom is to the left, and the other rooms are straight ahead.
The bathroom features a sink, shower, bathtub, and toilet.
In the kitchen, you’ll find all the necessary appliances, such as a stove, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a microwave, a coffee maker, a kettle, and a toaster. In addition to the beautiful built-in kitchen, there’s also a dining table that seats four people.
In the living room, a couch invites you to relax. Here you’ll find a TV (satellite), a DVD player (Blu-ray), and a small stereo system with CD, cassette, and USB ports.
Finally, each of the two bedrooms features a double bed (180x200 cm). In bedroom one, you’ll find a four-door wardrobe with a large mirror. In bedroom two, you can get a small taste of what a walk-in closet might feel like. Here’s a miniature version of one. Both bedrooms also feature valet stands for storing clothes overnight.
Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the entire apartment.
You have a designated parking space for one car. Otherwise, there are plenty of parking options within 50 and 250 meters. Just about 300 meters away, there’s a playground for the little ones. Schalkau is located on the southern edge of the Thuringian Forest in the “Schaumberger Land vor dem Wald” region. To the south lies the Franconian hill country, and to the north, the Thuringian Forest. The well-known “Samba City” of Coburg is only about a 15-minute drive away. The surrounding area offers many hiking and biking trails. There are also numerous museums, such as the Toy Museum in Sonneberg, the Gold Museum near Rauenstein, and many more. Several interesting ruins are also worth visiting. For those seeking relaxation, there are several spa resorts in the immediate and wider vicinity, such as Masserberg and Staffelstein. Winter sports enthusiasts won’t be disappointed either, as there are summer toboggan runs in Waffenrod and Ernstthal, as well as easily accessible ski resorts, such as the Silbersattel Ski Arena in Steinach.
