Gull’s Rest is such a beautiful, peaceful oceanfront home with stunning views from every window! The livingroom, sunroom and bedrooms are all open, airy and filled with stylish, comfortable decor, with lots of space for gatherings. It was the perfect home for 6 artists friends to gather and enjoy painting the beautiful Maine coast together. We look forward to returning again soon!

Basking in the lovely views!

We loved the location, especially the view. They wwere truly from every window. The kitchen was well equipped. We cooked lobster in the lobster pot and when finished, enjoyed the dining room views. Christmas Cove is a beautiful neighborhood, the setting for a lovely vacation.

Our family has been renting oceanfront homes for over 20 years in the Long Island, Connecticut coast area. The view from this home is as listed, spectacular. Appreciated the quiet, relaxing 5 days our family spent at this lovely home. Even with 10 people, of all ages, had plenty of room to enjoy peace and quiet. Loved the views. Have to drive a ways to get anywhere. Maids could use some lessons in cleaning. Basement apartment hard to get to from house. Lots of stairs to front door. Loved the dock on the water and the balcony. Sleeps nine not ten. Overall, the views were worth everything!

Beautiful Maine Coastal House

We had a great stay, but did not realize how long of a drive it was to go and visit other towns and areas of interest so be prepared to drive if you like to sightsee. Another thing we had no idea about were ticks. Be aware that if you walk around in long grass or weeds you will probably pick up a tick or two. Not a big deal, but just be aware of it.

No description can do this property justice!

We just got home today from a wonderful vacation. The scenery from the windows is stunning. The rooftop deck on the 2nd floor was a great place to just hang out in the evenings and watch the sun set. The public beach within walking distance was perfect for a 7 year old and a 9 year old to play in the water while the adults sat on the rocks. The kitchen had everything you could need to cook any meal. It was a wonderful place for 3 generations of our family to come together for a week. We usually stay around Boothbay Harbor but this house was close enough to go to Boothbay and Pemaquid every day of you want or perfect to stay at from the usual tourist spots and just lounge around. There's a gas station/convenience store/grill just right up the road. They'll sell you live lobster right off the boat or they'll steam them for you. And everybody was so friendly. I could go on and on about how great this house was but you can't understand how special it is until you experience it yourself.

This home was very cozy and had amazing views! You can see the sun rise and the sun set! The kitchen was very well stocked with anything you would ever need to cook. The owners are very nice and available. We are staying there again next year!

The View!

We loved this property. The views are breathtaking. Since we were traveling with both family and friends, the lack of a half bath on first floor was a bit odd - didn't want to go through the bedroom that wasn't yours, but we made it work. Bring a power strip if you need to be able to plug in computers, phones, etc. Dining room is great for a big group. Can't wait to go back!

Great friend getaway!

Gulls Rest offered multiple common spaces for all 8 of us to be together, or to seek out a quiet space for alone time. The setting never disappointed in terms of views/nature watching; sunrises, sunsets, eagles, herons, and much more! The beach area was a bit of a walk but offered a gradual, sandy entry into the water. Away from the neighborhood we enjoyed time in Damariscotta, at Pemiquid Point, walking trails at one of the several area preserves. Everyone in our group agreed that a stay at Gulls Rest should be a “do over”!

Christmas Cove rental

This place was just what we were looking for! There were nine of us total (two children) and the house accomodated us well without using the attached apartment. The house had plenty of space, was clean and quiet, the kitchen reasonably well equipped (including a nice Webber bbq grill just out the kitchen door) , and linens and towels (including beach towels) provided. The deck below the house near the water was amazing, the dinning room window had a great view, as did the second floor deck off a room with two single beds. A small rocky beach was within walking distance. What more could you ask for in a Maine summer vaction place?

Quintessential Maine

Gulls Rest at Christmas Cove was the perfect retreat to bring our extended family together. Originally from Maine, I felt at home in this quintessential coastal house/village. A Coastal Beauty

My wife and I had the privilege of spending 4 wonderful days at Christmas Cove. This property is fabulous and the online pictures are just a tease. The views and location are perfect for a coastal getaway. The furnishings are comfortable with a beautiful sunroom and cozy living room. There is a water level deck where you can take in the salt air and enjoy the sound of the gentle waves and the sea birds. We absolutely loved this place! Booth bay and Damariscotta are fun little towns to visit. Nice restaurants and shops. Don’t pass up the opportunity for a lobster roll at Osiers in South Bristol either! A great day trip is a visit to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens outside of Boothbay. Spoiler Alert!! Troll sightings have been reported! This was our first trip to Maine and we will be back. Thank you Diane! Check in was a breeze and the beauty of this place blew us away.

Amazing!

This house was so nice. Not only is it spacious, clean and cozy, but it is also the best appointed rental I have ever stayed in. The owners have gone above and beyond to make sure that you not only have everything you need but that everything provided is high quality as well. The master bed was so comfortable and the bedding was cozy. The bath towels were thick and absorbent. The kitchen had all the amenities of home and then some. There was an incredible supply of firewood, which we utilized nightly and much to our surprise, there were 3 sets of binoculars available for enjoying all the breathtaking views. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful Family Reunion

The property is beautiful, with breath taking views! The home was perfect for our group, enough room for everyone to have their own space. We enjoyed the working fireplace in the evenings, as well as a couple of the cool days. The kitchen is well equipped, with plenty of dishes, utensils, etc. If you need it, the wi fi worked fine. We enjoyed the deck right on the water, as well as the deck leading from the bedroom on the 2nd floor. The area was great for taking walks on the quiet roads. The shoreline at the property was not walkable, but we were very close to Pemaquid, where we spent the day on the rocks. Thank you Megan, for sharing your lovely home!
