But first: Welcome to your cozy temporary home at Rømåsen 83—a well-established and popular neighborhood in the mountains above the Olympic city of Lillehammer.

This is the perfect starting point for your excursions. This is where ambitious athletes begin their training sessions, summer and winter alike. You’ll have direct access to 320 km of cross-country trails and skating tracks that are freshly groomed and packed daily.
Or you can let huskies pull you through the countryside on a sled.

And during the snow-free season, you can begin your hikes on the Rømåsrunden, through marshlands and heaths, past ponds, pools, and lakes, up to the summits of Natrudstilen, Sollifjell, Moste, and Snørvillen. The network of hiking trails around Sjusjoen is one of the best in Norway.
The gravel roads in the mountains are perfect for day trips on a mountain bike.

Summer temperatures are very pleasant. Nevertheless, swimming is possible in numerous lakes. There are fishing spots, canoe rentals, and a lakeside sauna.

At the biathlon center, you can watch world-class athletes train on their roller-ski circuits and at the shooting range. Here, you also have the opportunity to run on snow starting November 1—thanks to snow farming. And at the alpine center, chairlifts carry skiers up to Natrudstilen.
Here, you can sample cinnamon rolls and enjoy the spectacular 360-degree view. On the way down to the cabin, you can still stop at Rømåsetra during the summer holidays to sample some regional rømmegrøt.
The little ones can ride a pony or watch the chickens and rabbits.

But first, park conveniently on the property right in front of the entrance. The area is regularly cleared of snow in winter (included in the price).

Three steps (or a ramp in summer) lead to the entryway with a coat rack.

From here, you’ll reach the bathroom with a shower, toilet, and small sauna. You’ll find a washer and dryer here.

The other door leads directly into the well-equipped kitchen with a cozy dining area.

Here you can prepare and enjoy meals together. A food processor, smoothie maker, raclette machine, fondue pot, hand blender, toaster, stovetop, oven, dishwasher, and drip coffee maker (no microwave!) are available, along with a spacious refrigerator and freezer.

The kitchen flows into the living area. Here, the fire crackles in the fireplace or the Jötul stove. A heat pump and underfloor heating provide additional sources of warmth.

Unwind on one of the three sofas—or in the rocking chair. Discover board games, the well-stocked library, and the CD collection.

From the main room, you can access the cozy nook and the two other bedrooms, which were expanded via an addition in November 2024.

The cabin offers space for individualists, families, athletes, and those seeking relaxation, and is also equipped for longer stays. Six guests can comfortably settle in over 100 m² and two bathrooms.

Make yourself comfortable by the fireplace. Relax in the sauna. Enjoy the views. Bake a cake. Grill or cook to your heart’s content. Fondue or raclette?

Head straight to the cross-country ski trail below the cabin. During the snow-free season, this is the entry point to the hiking trail network.

And if you’re looking for culture or shopping, a trip to Lillehammer is well worth it. There are movie theaters, museums, and galleries to discover. Storgata and the shopping center feature numerous stores, small cafés, and restaurants serving regional and international cuisine.
Sports stores and the Swix Outlet offer everything an active guest could wish for. Knitting enthusiasts are guaranteed to find what they’re looking for in one of the three well-stocked yarn shops in the pedestrian zone. Just go with the flow. Lillehammer is always worth a visit.
