The house is located at the edge of the forest in the small village of Älvsjöhyttan. It is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Our spacious garden of 2000 m² borders a small lake with crystal-clear water. 100 metres away is a large lake where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, rowing, stand-up paddling and paddling. Next to our property is a small stable with two horses belonging to our neighbour.
The surrounding nature is breathtaking. The area offers plenty of opportunities for active activities. Our guest book describes some beautiful walking and cycling paths. In the evening, it is worth taking a calm walk through the forest to look for moose or other wild animals. While fishing, you might catch a glimpse of a beaver swimming by.
The village itself has no amenities such as shops. For grocery stores, bakeries or visits to restaurants, cafés or terraces, it is about a 20-minute drive.
From Älvsjöhyttan, there are many day trips to other cities and attractions. Cities such as Hagfors, Ekshärrad, Mora, Karlstad, Ludvika and Örebro are a one or one and a half hour drive away and are well worth a visit.
Even winter offers many opportunities. Just a 20-minute drive away in Fredriksberg, you'll find the winter sports area Säfsen, where you can ski, cross-country ski or book a snowmobile tour. Ice fishing and dog sledding through the forests are also possible in the area.
Floor plan:
The house has a living area of 107 m² on a plot of over 2000 m². The ground floor consists of a bedroom with a double bed, a spacious kitchen with a large family table and all necessary tools for extensive cooking, a toilet, a living room with a couple of comfortable armchairs and a living room with an open fireplace. The living room has a TV (with Chromecast) and plenty of DVD discs with movies and music. The house has excellent Wi-Fi (500 Mbps up and down/fibre optic).
The first floor has a spacious landing with access to a small roof terrace of 4 m². There is also a toilet, a bathroom with a shower and three additional bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed and the other two have two single beds each.
The house has a large basement with an integrated garage and a workshop with a heat pump. In the basement, there is also an extra shower, washing machine, and a drying room for wet laundry.
Next to the house, there is a shed where you can store a motorcycle or bicycles. Garden furniture is also stored here. At the back of the garden, near the small lake, there is a log cabin with several beds. This is an excellent place for children to sleep.
The lake next to the garden is not yet available for swimming.
It is also possible to make a campfire and grill in the garden. Note: a ban on burning wood may apply during the summer to prevent forest fires. You can find this information on the Filipstad municipality's website.
In the garage under the house, there are several bicycles that you can use. Various fishing equipment is also stored here. By the large lake near the lock in the village, there is a red rowing boat with the name "Pike" and our house number 144 on it. This belongs to the house and is welcome to use. Life jackets, a waterproof bag, and oars are in the garage under the house. After using the rowing boat, please take it out of the water and turn it with the open end towards the ground to prevent it from filling with rain. Note: this rowing boat is very heavy.
There is also a yellow two-person canoe in the garden that is available for use. Oars and life jackets are in the garage. There is also an inflatable paddleboard in the garage for paddling on the lake.
Bedding and towels:
Duvets and pillows are provided.
The tenant must BRING THEIR OWN bedding if needed.

Cleaning of the accommodation:
We ask the tenant to clean the accommodation themselves after the rental period and leave it clean for the next tenant. The accommodation has no cleaning service. Cleaning materials are available in the house.
