Unidad 047 - Jack's Shack - ¡Nuevo en el programa de alquiler!- Frente al mar en el extremo oeste de la isla Dauphin en la hermosa playa de arena del MS Sound. Disfrute de la piscina privada en la terraza exterior. Hay 360 vistas del agua desde la envoltura alrededor de la cubierta, con fácil acceso al Golfo de México justo al otro lado de la calle. Ancha, sala de estar abierta con cocina y ventanas que dan al agua. La casa de cuatro dormitorios / tres baños incluye lo siguiente: un buen maestro con una cama tamaño king y un baño privado. El segundo dormitorio tiene una cama extra grande también. El tercer dormitorio tiene un gemelo sobre una litera completa y un futón. El cuarto dormitorio recién agregado tiene una reina junto con un baño privado. Esta casa cuenta con televisión vía satélite y conexión inalámbrica a Internet se proporciona como una cortesía. Wonderful!

This was the best beach house we have stayed in to date. They have everything you could ever ask for in a rental and the artwork on the walls was really neat and apparently done by the owner.

I do not like to share rentals with roaches....

Let me say that the house is a beautiful home and we booked it because of this due to seeing pictures! The cleanliness of this home looked fine, until the roaches came out and we seen that the home was infested with them. We seen over 60 or more roaches in 3 days, and the 3rd day we couldn't take it anymore and cut our vacation short and left 4 days early. We were suppose to stay a week but couldn't handle the roach infestation. Roaches crawling in the master bed wasn't pleasant waking up to nor cooking and roaches crawling on your food. If the critters were not there, then this would have been a wonderful place to stay with great views and a nice swimming pool with lovely views of the sound. I understand 1 or 2 bugs, but not as many as we had to encounter. It was not something that I am use to and I didn't appreciate it at all.

Great Place To Stay

Best 2 weeks of my life. We will return. Everyone including our dog had a wonderful vacation. The island is perfect for vacation.

Our stay on Dauphin Island was wonderful. Jack’s Shack was great the house is in a perfect location.

Jack’s Shack was wonderful, the houses location is great. The house sits on the bayside right across the street from the gulf. It has a wrap around porch that you can sit on the back and enjoy the bay or you can sit out front and enjoy the gulf. When we first arrived we realized the air conditioner wasn’t working contacted ACP, they sent someone right out to check it out was decided that the air conditioner would have to be replaced they gave us another rental for the night. They replaced the air conditioner the next day and we enjoyed the rest of our vacation at Jack’s Shack. We had such an amazing experience with ACP and loved the house so much we have already booked it again for next year.

Great house and location

This was our second visit to the island. This house had plenty of room for my wife and I and our two daughters and their two friends. The property manager was very responsive when I texted on Sunday morning about a broken coffee maker. They had one set outside the main office within the hour for us to pick up. The boardwalk is nice down to a good sized beach area. They are currently adding a pier and boat dock, which was being worked on while we were there, but this didn’t have an impact on the stay. The workers added a ramp and path from current boardwalk so that we could still get to the beach after they had to remove the temporary stairs. One reason we choose this house was for the pool and it did not disappoint. It was good to have the option during the day for those done at the beach. Night swimming is always a plus too. This house is in a great location on the sound side of the island for that quite secluded feeling.

Overall Good Stay, just a few small fixes needed to be great

Positives-- Great response from the owners and help with the internet Property Mang Company was great The Pool Both Beach and Bay House was good size and Kitchen had every item needed for stay New walkway to the bay was great, just needed to be completed to the stairs, lacked 12 feet?? Disappointments --------- The picture of Jacks Shack shows mowed yard, but it had not been mowed in a while with lots of weeds everywhere. Had to walk through some tall grass/weeds to the stairs both front and back. The white deck and stairs needed a coat of paint, the picture on the site showed it was looking perfect, with looks like new paint, but paint needed badly. Pulled up Saturday to a old grill near the front parking area and another old grill under the house. Just some basic housekeeping needed. And perhaps I might be a little picky, just wasn't quite up to the standards we have been used to in past years in Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan. The great news is that everyone had a good time.

We would love to stay here again in a heart beat!!! Breathtaking views from every foot of the wrap around porch. It was like our own little piece of paradise. Check in and check out were easy and communication was wonderful!! We loved our stay!!

Working with ACP was great. They were very responsive and helpful when needed. The house location was perfect. Access to both beaches was fantastic. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Will definitely rent Jack's Shack again!

Simply Amazing!

We arrived on a Saturday night and felt right at home - even the teenage girl was impressed! The home was well stocked with everything you may need. It is bright and clean and the views were breathtaking. We were able to watch a pod of dolphins play in the bay from the back porch! We love Jack’s Shack!

Jack Shack was a nice house. We saw dolphins swimming and playing from back deck. Loved the sunsets in the evenings. We would rent again if ever in Dauphin Island.

Jack’s Shack

Colorful, clean, well stocked with anything you need. Right on the ocean- beautiful view from the balcony. The pool is a plus when you or the kids need a quiet refreshing swim. Inside was very clean. Our family used both sides of the island beaches- the one across the road for sandcastles and boogie boards and the one on our side for quieter water to swim and play. The Managing company is friendly and helpful. There were a few drawbacks- tall grass and weeds around the house block the stairs and the boardwalk. The end of the boardwalk is washed out so you can’t get to the water using the boardwalk. There were a couple of boxes of trash and some junk on the balcony including an old grill (and a new one that was very nice). Paintings inside were beautiful but there were too many nicknacks sitting around inside and surfaces were a bit cluttered for my taste. Overall a nice house and a memorable week!

Great week on the island!

First - the staff at ACP Real Estate are TOP NOTCH! They were so responsive and really helped out in a semi-difficult situation (coming to the island during a tropical storm). Jacks Shack was perfect for our group. House was clean with lots of space. Kitchen had everything we needed, but could use some updated pans. Cooking bacon and eggs or really anything in the pans was difficult (stuck really bad!) The pool was a must have since we weren’t able to swim in the ocean the first couple days. The house is on the bay side of the island. Smaller beach and no waves. Be careful, we found glass on the beach so we made the kiddo’s wear water shoes. We loved taking walks on the Bay side at night and be prepared… SO MANY hermit crabs!!! The kids loved it. The Gulf side is a quick walk across the street! I read in other reviews that the grass was really grown up. This is true. & Mosquitos are TERRIBLE! Definitely pack bug spray. The house had a couple citronella candles which was helpful. I recommend Jacks Shack for a great getaway!

Wonderful west-end location

This property was as advertised and our family enjoyed it! We love having walking distance to the beach side as well as the bay side. My wife would enjoy paddle boarding on the bay side and the kids would enjoy the ocean waves on the other. You could see the sunrises and sunsets from the back porch without obstruction. The house was beautiful and well kept. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would likely stay here again. Here are some additional points that can help some of you who are thinking of staying here: 1. The kitchen was well stocked with plentiful plates, knives, cutting boards, storage containers, etc. We cooked most of our dinners at home, so this was welcomed. 2. This house has some items that were not originally listed (we didn't use them, as we packed them too). There was a collapsible beach wagon, boogie board, and small beach chairs. They were stored in different closets. 3. There is an outdoor spray on both the front deck (faucet) and the back deck (shower). The hose and pex lines on the back have holes and should be replaced. 4. We prefer the west-end beach (0.7 miles away) compared to the central public beach. There are many more shells on the west-end and is a little more isolated. 5. There will be standing water on the roads as you go to the west end. We were glad that we took a tall passenger van with us due to the water. Lower cars may have an issue after a rain. We brought our bikes thinking we would bike more, but the standing water didn't make this feasible. 6. Bring bug spray! In the evening the bugs in the back will come out. It is also a necessity if you visit the Bird Sanctuary.

Jacks shack is beautiful. I like the non commercial aspect. No signs, water slides or putput golf lol. Enjoyed the beach and biking.

Jack’s Shack

We had a wonderful time staying at Jack’s shack. The inside of the house was very clean and surprisingly roomy. We loved the location and being so close to both the bay and gulf sides. We also liked having a pool on the deck. The only thing that might need some improvements is the decking (especially down to the water.) There were some boards with nails sticking up underneath the decking. It looks like all the waste was just thrown down on the ground under the house. Other than that, we loved it and had a fabulous time!

COVID Getaway

This trip was the perfect opportunity to get away and stay safe during COVID! We didn't have to come within 50 yards (let alone 6 ft) of anyone during this trip. We basically had our own beach and were able to enjoy the water and sunshine worry-free. The dogs had a blast chasing all the birds and running up and down the beach. The house was clean and comfortable and fully stocked. We much appreciated the beach chairs (which of course I had forgotten to pack) as well as all of the kitchen tools! The rental process was easy and stress-free. The house has a heartwarming backstory, comforting atmosphere, and we can definitely see ourselves returning in the future!

Never wanted to leave

When it seems like life is full of chaos and heartache (thanks 2020!) we decided on a last minute trip to pause and breathe. We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect destination, and the house was everything we could have asked for. Plenty of room and the house had all the amenities you could ask for. We will definitely stay here again!

Good trip

One thing I really like to complain is mosquitoes, too many there, I think you need to do some treatment for the renters, also, grass was not cut, besides that, all good, we will try again next year.
