Do you know what the market share of sparkling wine from 6 euros upwards is? the winemaker asked me. Answer: 1.5 %! The house is made for guests who appreciate something special.First of all, the huge wooden balcony is for me the most beautiful box seat for Moselle and vineyards on the Middle Moselle - you sit there with the wine, look at the panorama and are happy, whether in the morning, at noon or in the evening. All guests book practically only for this reason, arrive, stand on the balcony, look at the Moselle and vineyards and are blown away. The stylish and practical gas barbecue there is loved by me and the guests.Nobody else lives in the house and garden except you, it's a detached house and spacious - if you add the balcony, it's about 180 square metres of living space, plus the garden and barbecue area. I think the location is brilliant, pretty much exactly between Bernkastel Kues and Traben Trarbach, it is surrounded by wonderful places and stunning nature. It is very close to the Moselle, where you are no longer allowed to build nowadays, it was built shortly after the death of Napoleon, at that time there was no such regulation. This marvel is constructed in such a way that you always have sun or shade, see everything but at the same time are not seen, also because the house is so special, elevated on the railway embankment. It is in a very quiet location.Guest quote: "A pearl on the Moselle. When we travelled around, we always unconsciously compared, we didn't see anything better, really."There is a lot of space under the balcony (guests like to park their e-bikes there), a meadow and a beautiful barbecue area, but it is practically not used because the balcony offers so much more. That's why it's a wild meadow. But what is really great is that you can park your car comfortably there (access via the railway embankment of the former Moselle railway, the "Saufbähnchen"), it couldn't be closer to the house and safer. Cyclists can also ride directly over the railway embankment to the house and park their bikes safely and dryly under the balcony. The two bedrooms are actually like two separate studios, almost like holiday flats in a holiday home, so to speak, and can be reached separately via two staircases, can be separated by an elegant loft element and can be cooled separately:Guest quote: "The air conditioning is great, by the way, a good night's sleep"Bedroom 1 has its own small bathroom with washbasin and toilet and, in addition to the wide staircase, can be reached via a gallery with a spiral staircase above the kitchen. There is also a huge panoramic window with seating and a direct view of the Moselle, which alone is incredibly beautiful and the absolute highlight no. 2 after the box seat.In the living room there is a modern TV (QE55S95B QD OLED 4K TV) and you have fast internet. The furnishings combine carefully selected pieces of furniture with contemporary classics and relics from days gone by.Excerpt from Hans Josef Ortheil Die Moselreise: A child's novel because it fits so beautifully:I asked Dad why he always hiked along rivers, and Dad replied that there were particularly beautiful places and towns along beautiful rivers and that the sight of a beautiful river was very calming and went very deep into the soul. People are usually calmer and more level-headed by rivers and the sea, and he likes that....The house and garden are only for the guests, nobody else is there. The lower floor is unoccupied and is a storage room because the Moselle likes to visit from time to time, especially between Christmas and New Year. The main entrance is from Schiffergasse. But you can also walk over the railway embankment to the house, or drive straight into the garden by car and park there, the guests love that.
