Hermosa casa en la tranquila calle Old Makena con vista al mar desde todas las habitaciones.

Póngase sus zapatos de playa, camine por su dogleg de 40 pies a la izquierda de su jardín delantero, pise pequeñas rocas y nade con las tortugas en nuestra playa privada.

Hermosas puestas de sol todas las noches desde un lote de medio acre en el océano.

La cría de ballenas jorobadas se puede ver cerca de la costa en los meses de invierno.

La casa de tres dormitorios y 2250 pies cuadrados ha sido decorada con arte de estilo hawaiano, muebles de teca de Bali, alfombras, pisos de travertino y electrodomésticos nuevos. Cada habitación tiene su propio baño completo.

Lujoso dormitorio principal con vista al mar desde su cama extra grande. El segundo dormitorio tiene una cama de matrimonio. El tercer dormitorio tiene dos gemelos que se convierten en un rey.

We stayed for 6 nights in this nice home in just a beautiful location. This is a quiet neighborhood and the view can't be beat. Perfect for ocean photos and a glass of wine at sunset.The house and furnishings are "genuine Hawaiian" which we prefer (we aren't really resort people). The only drawback I can think of is one bedroom that did not have a window you can open, so you basically have to keep the AC on all night. But the 2 other bedrooms (the main ones) have screened windows, the family members who stayed in those opened the windows at night and loved them.Communication with the owners and the on-island managers was prompt and good. All in all, this is a great location for a vacation stay.

Our stay was wonderful! The view from this home is absolutely gorgeous—breathtaking sunsets, so many whales, turtles along the shore, relaxing and taking in the sound of the waves. AMAZING! The house managers were so helpful during our stay and made sure to answer any questions we had about the property.

We arrived on the tail end of the second set of Kona storms. The property had some flooding damage which still needed to be repaired, but they did their best not to let that interfere with our stay. The manager was extremely kind, attentive, and helpful. The house could use a little updating, but it was very comfortable, and the location is absolutely unbeatable. We loved being right on the ocean, but away from a public beach. The rocks out front were lovely, and we enjoyed seeing turtles and fish right in from of the house. It felt very private and peaceful, and we LOVED the sunsets! We also loved that Maluaka beach is a short walk away, and the snorkeling right in front and at Maluaka was awesome! Considering the cost of lodging on Maui, especially for 3 bedrooms, this was a great value. We hope to stay again in the future.

It's hard to put into words how magical our stay was at Makena Makai. To sum it up, we said the most memorable part of the trip was our time spent at the home. Wonderful property, quiet location but still convenient to local activities, restaurants, etc. The snorkeling right off the property was *fabulous* with many turtles (keep your distance) and plenty of reef wildlife. It’s best to get out early in the day when the water is most calm and before the big snorkel tour boats start pulling up nearby. The great snorkeling here isn’t a secret unfortunately!Mahalo, Sue and Clark!

Relaxing Makena Retreat

Our family had an amazing stay at this superb property in Makena. Secluded and private yet a short drive to amazing restaurants and shopping. We saw sea turtles every day and snorkeled in the clear water off the back yard. Truly a gem and a perfect family vacation!

Perfect place for a Maui vacation.

Beautiful property in a perfect location. Whether as a launching point to see all the sights of Maui or a spot to just sit and relax, this home is perfect. Beautifully maintained with attentive management, we couldn't recommend this home any more.

Best location on Maui

best possible place to stay. Hale O Honu is absolutely unique. The house is outfitted with everything you’ll need. There’s plenty of extra snorkel masks, fins, and shoes. We spent mornings swimming and snorkeling, mid day touring the island or hiking, then great evenings at home watching the sunsets before tribal council. Most mornings there were sea turtles on the beach sunning in the back yard. I cannot recommend highly enough. Location, location, location.

Amazing Location!!!!

I have been to Maui several times and have always enjoyed my stay at the resorts, so this was the 1st time at a home and it did not disappoint! Incredible location in the heart of turtle town and the house was simply stunning in its ambiance and proximity to the best snorkeling around, PERIOD!!! Loved Sue and the commutation.

Great property and a wonderful stay

Our family stayed here in late March / early April of this year. The setting is second to none and there were few things more relaxing than sitting and the table and enjoying the sound of the waves. The property was fully stocked with everything you could ever need, including boogie boards, beach towels, and chairs. Sue was wonderful throughout the process and we would definitely stay again.

Amazing property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There are snorkels, fins and water shoes available for use right out the back door. We saw the turtles every morning and enjoyed the sunset over the ocean from the back yard every evening. The location is private but close to shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend this property.

Home is in a beautiful, quiet location. Short drive to shops and restaurants. Access to snorkeling from property. The home is well equipped including supplies for a beach trip. Will definitely rent again!

A slice of Heaven

Makena Makai is a beautiful, quaint home with views that won't disappoint. I enjoyed snorkeling with the turtles each morning. The owner/manager's are easy to speak with. We had no issues throughout our entire stay. (November 16-23, 2024) I would love another opportunity to stay at this wonderful place. ❤️

The wonderful loavation and access to the ocean cannot be better!

Love it! All great! This is the second time we’ve stayed here and it’s the perfect place to make memories: great family meals prepared in the kitchen with a view, snorkeling, kayaking, sunset revelries, peaceful evenings when all that is heard are the ocean, crickets, and starlight.

We saw more sea turtles within a few blocks of this quiet neighborhood than we have seen in all our other trips to the islands combined! Perfect!

My parents built this home in 1969, when the only access was a dirt road. They lived here year round, but had no mail or paper delivery for many years. Its a lovely, quiet location in a pristine area, which my husband and I regularly update, and keep decorated in the Hawaiian style.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Snorkeling, turtle and whale viewing (in winter months) is awesome from our location. We can also swim off the left front side of our property. Our oceanfront location with sunset views overlooking 3 islands and 2 peninsulas is truly unparalleled.
