Absolutely love this place! It is nice and secluded and quiet. You can tell the owners have put a lot of thought into the house. It is very well decorated, super clean, and has a rustic charm to it. It had everything we needed. This was actually our second time staying here and we loved it so much. Perfect place for a couple to spend a quiet kid-free weekend!

Perfect get away

Perfect for two

Lovely inside and out, outdoor seating is great, we enjoyed the fire pit as well. Very comfortable! Excellent hosts, very flexible when we had a change, would definitely stay again

Enjoyed our stay

Our first time doing vrbo. Really impressed with this rental. Managed professionally with excellent preparation: toiletries, kitchen supplies, etc. Decor was festive. We cooked at the house instead of going out to eat because restaurant options were slim.

Enjoyed immensely

We loved our little getaway to the Carriage House!! We were in the area because my wife graduated with her midwifery degree from Southwest Tech in nearby Fennimore. The carriage house was close enough and yet felt like a million miles away from the hustle and bustle. We were able to relax and enjoy our time together being cozy!!

Quiet retreat

The cabin was just as pictured/described. It was a good size for 2, with a very comfortable bed. The road is unpaved for the last 2 miles, so it is dusty. But that remoteness also means there is very little traffic. The location is near a great fly fishing stream. And we heard an owl. Nature lovers' delight.

Cozy Retreat

My fiance and I came for a weekend and wished we could have stayed for at least a week! The carriage house is a wonderfully cozy space -- elegantly rustic. We could not have asked for a better space. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen had all of the basic cooking/baking utensils/pans we needed to cook the meals we wanted. The Wi-Fi was a bit spotty during our visit. We told the manager, and after he fixed it, it worked for a few hours before cutting out again. However, at that point, we were ready to play games anyway. We played Battleship, Mastermind, and Trivial Pursuit, but ran out of time before we could get to Boggle. So many good game options, and we would have started one of the puzzles if we'd been there for more days. We also missed out on using the grill and fire pit, but we were so excited that these were possibilities. Absolutely a magical weekend!

Nice Getaway Home

It has a cute little loft+cabin vibe. It is definitely made for a getaway where you can forget about the rest of the world for awhile and it is perfect for that. Note to future travelers - VRBO's automated distances are wildly inaccurate since they are direct line computations. For example, it says about 15 miles to Prairie du Chien but it takes 30 minutes to make the drive.

Great escape

This property was thoughtfully decorated and supplied and located in a beautiful, secluded area. I didn’t really need Tammy and Wayne to follow up on anything, but when I reached out they were always quick to respond and nice to work with. Would recommend to anyone needing to get away and decompress!

Quaint and secluded

We absolutely loved it here! A nice scen8c drive out to the property. The house was so clean, beautifully decorated, and spacious enough for 2. It came with everything we needed for a long weekend. The bed was so comfortable! We loved the refurbished barnwood throughout the whole place. It gave it so much character. Highly recommend and we would love to stay here again!

Weekend retreat

Beautiful and clean. We settled right in each evening after our hiking, canoeing and brewery adventures in the area. We loved reading in the window seat, playing games and watching movies. Fantastic hosts - thank you. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in the area.

Relaxing environment

If you want a get away that is relaxing, this is the place for you. It is impeccably clean, well supplied with essentials, and close to "tourist' sites if that is your interest and also close to several state parks. We were here for 3 nights, did some park sightseeing, but could have been just as happy staying "home" here for the entire time.
