Great location and perfect place to come home to

What a great little place in an area that's wonderful for walking and close to the metro. Things that are very important to be: beds were firm and comfortable, the shower was hot with good pressure, and the hot tub was exactly needed for a cold season. I'll definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Location, Helpful Host

Property was conveniently located within a short walk of the metro and some truly delicious restaurants. Everything was clean and well maintained. Best of all, Pierre was extremely helpful, pleasant to talk with, and offered good advice on how to navigate Montreal and get the most out of our visit.

Very comfortable stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Pierre's accommodation. It was spacious and there was everything you needed. Pierre was readily available to help as he just lives upstairs. The location is great and the metro station is not too far. The grocery store is just around the corner. We would love to book again with Pierre. Thank you for a great stay!

We were fortunate to book this for a last minute trip. The location cannot be beat. Walking distance to playgrounds, grocery, restaurants and metro. The apartment was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. Pierre was a very kind host. Definitely recommend this property and we hope to visit again!

Pierre Paul And his family offer a charming well supplied apartment in one of the most vibrant areas of Montreal. Close to everything and transport yesterday in a quiet community. Pierre Paul is an exemplary host and you will feel like you have found a new friend.

Montreal At it’s Best

I have been traveling to Montreal for many years, and always stay in the Plateau. Simply the best neighborhood for everyone to enjoy. Pierre’s Les Gargoyles does not disappoint and is a wonderful appointed apartment. Everything in description is accurate and frankly understated. Close to all activities and restaurants, metro, Parc Lafontaine and much more. Amenities in Pierre’s apartment are exceptional. I stayed with my grandson to show him all the sights that I have enjoyed over the years. Thank you Pierre, hopefully I can return to Montreal and visit again Steve

Renter: Add $100 to your rental fee up front

Wonderful rental, had a great stay, but be sure to set aside an extra $100 in your vacation budget. The owner neglects to charge this fee upfront, yet insists repeatedly how you must be out by X time because another renter is arriving later on. So that the unit can be cleaned, right? Makes sense to me. So you pick up all your garbage, put the towels in the wash, wash all the dishes, and then get dinged with a cleaning bill after the fact. It's really disappointing, because until that moment it was an excellent place to stay. As described, adorable, safe, and within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, as well as the metro. Practically every listing on here has a cleaning fee up front. It's dissapointing that this one does not.

Hi Carrie, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Montreal and the apartment. Cleaning fees are always included. As I wrote to you earlier, the extra fees were because of damage to the apartment, specifically the sheets were stained in multiple places (apparently by blood). Photos were sent to you. Top quality sheets are expensive. 100$CND Finally, check out is always 11am, I did not request an early leave, same time as everyone. I mentioned it at the start of your stay (so can plan accordingly) and a reminder the day before your departure. Standard procedure.

COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE

The apartment was spacious and sparely furnished, which had a charm of its own. It was well supplied with absolutely everything that we needed. The queen bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The living room, which was private, had a comfortable Murphy bed and pull out couch. There was a spacious kitchen and area for eating and hanging out. Parking was supplied behind the building. It was conveniently located in the charming residential area of Mont-Royal, a block away from many wonderful restaurants and shops and a five minute walk from the Metro. There were also several beautiful parks in the area. Our landlord, Pierre, could not have been more helpful. He shared many helpful ideas about interesting things to do. He was very respectful of our privacy, and was always available by phone. When my wife got sick he gave us a Covid testing kit and a thermometer. And once it was clear that she did indeed have Covid and that we needed to leave early for our home in Massachusetts, he could not have been more helpful. We would definitely return to this apartment, and we heartily recommend it! Thank you, Pierre, for being the ideal landlord!

Nice place, perfect location, just what we needed

The apartment had everything we needed for two weeks. I had to be downtown every day for a conference but hotel rates were inflated. The location was perfect, a few blocks from the Mont-Royal metro station. Close to the Avenue but far enough off to be quiet. Maybe too close to St-Viateur Bagel and La Banquise poutine for my own good! Parking a huge plus. Pierre was a perfect host, attentive without being intrusive.

Perfect Spot

Perfect place to stay on the "Plateau". Definitely not a "party rental" but a perfect pied a terre when visiting the city. It's close to everything, a great bakery, market at the end of the street. The place is a nice condo, well furnished. The owner is very nice, easy to communicate with, accommodating. Truly a great place to stay in the area. Will be my go to when I come back to Montreal for sure.

Charming, spacious flat within walking distance or everything!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at this two-bedroom in the Plateau. Incredibly clean and spacious, it well exceeded our expectations. Situated on a lovely tree lined street, it seemed as though all amenities were a five minute walk away. Pierre was a very gracious host who ensured we had everything we needed. Definitely looking forward to staying here again on my next Montreal visit.

Great location, but fair warning...

Please let me start by saying that this review is not a knock on the place itself, but rather just fair warning for prospective renters that may be looking for something that they are not going to get here. The place itself and the neighborhood are great. The house is well kept and clean (albeit a tad worn), and the location can't be beat in Montréal. HOWEVER just a fair warning that the hosts are VERY present. Pierre and his partner live in the unit upstairs, so some crossover is to he expected. But if I wanted to stay in a place where I felt like my mother was always watching me and just waiting to criticize how we were living, then I'd go back to being a 16 year old and stay home. We were constantly talked to like we were children and felt watched like we were degenerates despite the fact that we are both successful young professionals and paid the hosts good money to stay here for four nights. I couldn't even get a day of work in without Pierre coming to knock on the window to tell me that I did something wrong. The place has a hot tub which, admittedly, is a great perk and quite rare for rentals in the city. But again, FAIR WARNING, it comes with a bunch of rules and apparently you aren't allowed to listen to music at a reasonable level at 12pm on a public holiday (we're talking Tragically Hip, not death metal or hard rap). I'll leave it at that. Please note that this review is not to discourage people from staying here as it is a great option in one of my favourite parts of the city. Rather, I want to ensure that prospective renters know what they are getting for their benefit and also for the benefit of the hosts! So if you are looking for a place with some privacy and freedom to enjoy your time away without the feeling of eyes constantly on you, this is probably not the place for you.

Hi Evan. Thanks for your comments. I've been renting this apartment for 12 years, had over 200 guests and have a 5 star rating. The apartment is in a quiet family neighborhood and so guests must be respectful of others. Just common sense. Regarding the spa, there is only one rule which is that it is to be used before 10PM. I agree with your warning and want to make it very clear: To all those like you that find it acceptable to be noisy, put loud music and use the spa at 2AM, yes 2AM like you did, this is NOT the apartment for you. Please rent elsewhere. In 12 years, I never had complains from neighbors but did during your stay. You are not welcomed to stay in my home again.

ATTENTION Fraudeur !! Le locataire a fait une demande de rétro-facturation alors qu'il a bel et bien séjourné. Et ce n'est pas Abritel/HomeAway qui absorbe la perte, c'est moi, le locateur !!!
