Muchos visitantes quieren estar cerca de la acción en el centro de Gatlinburg y no necesariamente quieren gastar tanto o necesitan todo lo que una cabaña tiene para ofrecer. Pero eso no significa que deba permanecer en una habitación de hotel y perder todos los beneficios de un alquiler de vacaciones. En Gatehouse 106 tendrá una chimenea, terraza, amplia sala de estar, cocina completa para preparar comidas en condominios y acceso a una piscina al aire libre de temporada. Más importante aún, Gatehouse es el edificio de condominios desarrollado más recientemente que está a poca distancia del centro. Es un edificio más nuevo que es privado, bien mantenido y tranquilo. ¡para que tenga todas las comodidades de estar en Gatlinburg en una unidad más nueva al precio de valor de cabina!

Pros: Location; nicely landscaped, quiet and clean complex; spacious unit; comfy chairs on the balcony; nice view of the creek; great water pressure; convenient to grocery store; washer and dryer in unit; excellent communication from the unit’s property management company; and first floor unit close to the parking lot and enjoyable pool.Cons: the entire unit could use a thorough cleaning and painting; both bedspreads were stained; some of the towels were more gray than white; the jets in the en-suite tub were dirty; no grab bars on that tub/shower combo; and the carpet was stained.The cons were reported to the unit’s property management company and I felt the issues were taken seriously.We had a relaxing break and the location was convenient.

Comfortable Economy Stay

We found the layout comfortable and it was a good price compared to us having a cabin or two hotel rooms. The unit could use a renovation for some stained carpeting, the bathroom and bed coverings. It was fairly clean, but some dust bunnies were left behind. We were disappointed by the lack of basic amenities like coffee & filters and toilet paper, which are common everywhere else we stay. Overall, we were happy here at this price point and would stay again, but with a few touch-ups it could be a premium rental.

I will say it is a bit dated and the mattresses need to be replaced with better quality. There was no extra toilet paper, only what was on the rolls and no extra towels provided. Those items would have been nice. If you have mobility issues, you will have difficulty getting in and out of the shower/tub combos.

Nice condo, but falsely advertised

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything seemed great with the condo until we went to use the sofa bed for the evening. Trying to get the sofa bed out was extremely difficult and once we got it out we noticed that the frame had been zip tied together, making it unusable. We then tried to get the sofa bed back in and literally couldn't. We had to wait until maintenance got there around midnight for him to manhandle it back in place in order for us to even be able to use it. While waiting for maintenance to get there, we read through the journal and it was noted in June that the sofa bed was broken. So this unit had been falsely advertised since at least June. We would not have stayed in this unit had we known that, as it did not fit our party with only 2 beds. We asked if there was another unit they could move us to and they did not have anything. So someone in our group had to sleep on the couch the entire time, which was not the most comfortable experience. We asked for some form of compensation and the only thing they offered was a 15% discount, which didn't even cover the portion paid by the person that was stuck sleeping on the couch!

The building, unit and locations is what brings us back. The unit could use some TLC. New mattresses, fix the screen on the patio door and a new master bath sink faucet (drips a lot). Will definitely be back.

The furniture was comfortable and it was just close enough to all the action. There were a few this that could have been better. The unit wasn't very clen. Yes, the floors were swept and things were tidy, but there was more. The walls were dirty, cobwebs thick in the bedroom window. The kitchen sinks had a yellowish crusty film. The worst was the black mold that came out of the jets of the whirlpool tube.

We did have one incident the morning of departure, where the smoke alarm went off twice at 7:40 AM, while we were still sleeping, but resolved quickly.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was great but that was about it. When you walked in there was an old musty smell and the unit felt/looked dirty. The living room furniture and beds were not comfortable. The walls could have used a good coat of paint at least 10 years ago. The walls were very dirty with cobwebs and other stuff splattered throughout. The shower curtains were dirty. The unit looks to have had nothing updated in the past 25-30 years. With the thick layer of dust to go along with it on the lamps and decorations. The kitchen looked clean but we chose not to use it.

It is obviously dated, but who goes to Gatlinburg to stay inside. The kitchen has everything you need (who wants to cook while on vacation ?) If you’re looking for a place to have a cup of coffee in the morning and adult beverages at night this is the perfect place for you. It was for us!!

Amazing Stay

The condo was super clean and nice and spacious. We loved the patio, it was so relaxing. We will definitely stay here again! We bought the ripleys package and enjoyed the aquarium (which was awesome) and 7 other activities!! The kids loved the sarcasm at Dicks! We have 2 teenagers and they had fun and loved condo! My hubby also enjoyed the jacuzzi tub!!

Very nice open floor plan on the inside, great bedrooms and the view from the patio was great. Its a bit of a walk to "downtown" (1.1 miles),,, the thing to remember though,, its downhill on the way into town,, its uphill on your way back to the condo. All in all,, the rental company was super attentive, checked on us a couple of times,, the place was great,,, the location is awesome,, would stay here again.

Unit 106 could use some upgrades starting with the beds. The beds are very noisy to the point you hear the people in the other room get in and out of their bed. Some general upgrades would make this unit outstanding.

Nice stay at Gatehouse 106

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was very large. The pool was a nice plus. Very refreshing. There were 7 lights in the kitchen that need to be replaced by brighter led lights. That would help big time. We had a maintenance man out but he could only replace one bulb that was actually out. It was up to the owner to replace them. Elk Spring Resorts was very professional and very quick to respond, which I loved. They text me the day before to see what time I would be arriving and told them noon. They said they would shoot for 3:00. Well, as we were on our way there, I got a text at 11:59 saying our condo was ready. So nice. Great service. You can walk to town from the condo. A little farther than I thought. But it's very doable. We were there 3 days and walked to town the first day. Second day we hiked up to Mt. LeConte Lodge via Alum Cave Trail for the 19th time. Third day we went white water rafting and had a blast!! My husband also seen a bear in the creek 2 nights we were there. I would most likely stay there again. We enjoyed sitting out on the back porch.

Two nice sized bedrooms. Functional kitchen and AC system was great. I liked the location as we could use backroads to Pigeon Forge or go down 1/2 mile to two Gatlinburg parking lots if going to town. Walking to Gatlinburg is not idea for most but note the easy access to parking lots.
