Thanks so much for your input! We really rely on guests' thoughts so we can improve as needed. There are no stairs leading from upstairs deck to the yard below as it is important to limit access to the house. This is for safety to prevent possible break-ins as the house is often empty. The yard is semi-secluded so safety is foremost in our minds!

To All Future Renters, In response to the last review and to provide needed information to future renters, let me please address some issues raised about the "Barn House". There is no longer a caretaker that comes on occasion to work in the space on the ground floor of the barn. This was addressed at the time in the "Renters' Agreement" and if the caretaker's presence was not wanted, we should have been made aware of that. It is obvious that some renters do not take the time to read the agreement and we wish to avoid this and any other misunderstanding in the future. Please read the Rental Agreement carefully as there's lots of important information in there. We have never had any problem (until the last renters came and went) about the cleanliness of the unit and have always had a reliable and thorough cleaning crew. If ever you come to the house and it is not cleaned to your satisfaction or anything needs to be addressed, please call us on our cell at anytime so we can have the matter resolved. As we tell all our renters as they check in (and we have given our cell phones), no issue is too small for us if something bothers you or needs work. Please understand that if we are not told about any problem while staying at our house, we will be unable to address any issues brought up after you have left. We charge a basic cleaning fee that involves cleaning, washing and changing linens, and removing trash from the house. If there is an unusual mess, such as stains on the upholstery, stickers on walls and furniture, etc. that causes our cleaning crew to stay longer or require an extra person to help clean (with a tight time limit btwn. guests arr. & depart.) there will be an additional charge as stated in the Renters Agreement. Also, please check to insure the front door is closed and locked when departing. We've had the misfortune to have the front foyer flooded from the door being left open. As stated in the Rental Agreement, we urge renters to take advantage of the additional Protection Insurance that is offered by VRBO. This added insurance will cover many items one can be held responsible for if the directions in the house and in the Rental Agreement are not followed.
