Exactly What We Needed!

We were looking for a spot to stay close to the Ocracoke Island Ferry Dock and this is almost as close as you can get! Drive out to the house is beautiful, location is nice and property is clean. Highly recommend.

We stayed here because of the proximity to the ferry, and for that, the location is really perfect. A short 3 miles to the terminal can’t be beat. The drive into Cedar Island is really amazing. And while the property is very spacious and has so many beds to offer to a group, it is not the Hilton, so be extra aware of that if bringing little ones with you. The beds were not the most comfortable, the air freshener scent was very strong, there was a super thick layer of dust on all the blinds, the wifi didn’t work, the dvd player in the living room didn’t turn on. The kitchen isn’t very well equipped for cooking, and the bar stools at the kitchen island were a little too rickety for our kids to sit safely. Living room furniture is very worn out, and we nearly went through the floor closing the blinds in the living room where the subfloor is not stable. If you’re up for a rustic stay near the ferry, it works, but we probably wouldn’t bring our family back.

This place was so appallingly filthy it should be condemned. The kitchen was loaded w mouse droppings. All in the dishes. Pots and pans. And in a open box of pancake mix Roaches were everywhere thru the house. Kitchen being the worst. Exhaustion made me not just blow out of this place and forget the entire stay here. Fortunately there was a gallon of bleach in the laundry room. We washed the dishes we ended up using and just didn’t cook there at all. Seriously. It was the grossest place I’ve ever stayed in. Do not book this place. You will be very sorry.

AMAZING!!! Great for large Groups!

We booked this rental for a softball tournament for almost half the team to stay. It was perfect! Plenty of space and more beds that what the original listing says. 1 Queen, 1 double & twin, 2 doubles, and 1 twin. The washer and dryer work well as we were washing uniforms every night. Thanks for hosting us Zak!!

The perfect spot if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway

The property was very nice, plenty of room for my family of 5. We were a short drive (3 miles) from the beach and ferry to Ocracoke. There is only one gas station and one restaurant on Cedar island, so this is not a resort with tons of options. This is more of a laid back vacation without crowding and waits. If you travel South about an hour from Cedar Island you will find Beaufort which is full of Restaurants and things to do. Also another 20 minutes down the road from there and you will be to the Atlantic Beach and eventually Emerald Isle which has beautiful beaches with no crowds. Additionally we went on a deep sea fishing trip with the owner and had an awesome time. I've been deep sea fishing a couple of times and usually in my experience you just sit back and wait to reel the fish in. There was no real involvement with baiting the hook, casting the line, or taking the fish off of the hook. This experience was much more hands on. It was like my family was doing all of the fishing and Zak was assisting us, teaching us really. I absolutely loved it, highlight of our getaway. We must have pulled in 30-40 fish easy (may have been more, I lost count honestly), my kids loved it. In closing, if you're looking for a quiet place to stay that is away from things, this is the spot. The owners and everybody we encountered on Cedar Island were very nice.

A place to stay with few steps

My daughter was married on the beach at Cedar Island and i needed a place to stay with minimum steps. I am handicapped! My son and his wife took me down there and we had a wonderful time!!

I was surprise of how large it was ..: older home but well kept and very clean I would definitely stay there again or tell others to do so .. and all immediate little needs met like coffee teas shampoo conditioner etc … wish I could have seen the black lab all past guest had the pleasure seen

Perfect for our needs

House was clean and neat, more room than we needed for 2 adults and their sons. Perfect for our needs. Fishing weekend, house was a short drive to the boat ramp. Will definitely look to stay here again for our annual cedar island trip.

Fisherman’s paradise

Fished the drum tournament at cedar island and all the houses and hotels was already rented! The house is 3 miles from the ferry but well worth it! Already booked for next year’s tournament! Will be staying there every year

Very Spacious

This property was very roomy and spacious!!! The AC worked very well and we were very comfortable. If you plan on watching any TV bring some DVDs. We went down east so my dad could go fishing, so the location was perfect for that. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great Getaway Cabin

Great Cabin so close to the beach and only 45 minutes from Beaufort! Roman was a great host, really helpful and on top of communication. This is an awesome property with a lot of character, and the nicest black lab you’ll ever meet that lives next door. We will definitely be back again to go on one of his fishing charters!

Great Location, Wonderful House

We were only there for a night but could have stayed so much longer! The house was very clean and very spacious. It was right on the road to the Ferry but away from the road enough that you the traffic wasn't disruptive.

Nice and spacious property but lack pantry items

The place is spacious, more than enough for the 8 of us, (4 adults, 4 kids). However, if you plan to cook you may want to bring basic pantry items along (cooking oil, s+p). Water bottles is recommended as well.

This is a beautiful property with lots of room. There was an additional unlisted perk. Gunner the black lab was a treat to spend time with. The hosts were very informative and our stay was a great experience.
