Ok, let's exlpain better. If you coplmpalin about steps it means that you did not understand the so called Vertical Landscape you were visiting.... steep hills going down into the ocean, make the villages and the houses packed of STEPS. The apartment is inside a building originally built around 1600. All apartments were planned without elevators!!! and forgetting the needs of years 2000 tourists.... so the apartment is for 4 people, with adeguate accomodations. I wonder why you had to change the hot water set up, as none of the guest before you and after you complained. Beds are "hard", again based on your personal opinion. No complains in previous reviews. The sliding entrance gate does not close because it is easier to live with it in this way, for people and guests living in the building. As you say has a main entrance door and the apartment door. We live in a safe area, and 2 doors are enough. The welkome pass is a "new entrance " for the newly re-opened Via dell' Amore. It is very time consuming for the Host to ask for it for all guests, and it was not previewd until few weeks ago. I hope the process will be changed soon. Yes, the view is crazy, living in Cinque Terre is crazy! if you understand it. When I studied in San Diego 40 years ago, I did not complain for a not great American Food at the college. It was my personal opinion only.

Hi. I see hour note and I apologize for ants and the not perfect cleaning. Indeed it is the first rewiew to point it out. I am sorry. Regarding parking it is cheaper than public parking whixh is at 35 euro per day. Riomaggiore and 5 Terre region is named as The Vertical Landscape; maybe there is a ratio behind that. STEPS ARE EVERYWHERE. Inside houses, to go from sea up to the villages, from home to train station or car parking, to walk the paths. Maybe you were not aware of it. Then, because of high hills facing the ocean, there is NO SPACE. None of the villages has free parking or space enough to park cars. This is why most of visitors arrive by train. Logistic is complicated for food or whatever else. If you then decide to come in December it is highly probable to find rain and sea and wind storm. Even the snow in Jan.and Feb. For such events we can do really nothing.

Daily life in 5 Terre means to go up and down of steps....and I chose this apartment because it s quite confortable and easy to get to compared to our standards!!!
