Absolutely outstanding

The house is absolutely beautiful, the views are magnificent and Monique,the host, is amazing. Every little detail has been thought of and catered for, the pool is a dream and we enjoyed every second we spent here. We spent hours in the pool, eating on the terrace and walking around the lake. We can't wait to make a return vist!

This property was beautifully and tastefully decorated. One of the nicest places we have stayed in. Kitchen had everything you needed. The view from the garden was great. Monique could not have been more helpful. If your looking for a nice relaxing holiday this is the place would highly recommend it

This excellent property is good for families seeking a chance to enjoy tranquility and excellent views. The property has everything you could possibly need and an excellent kitchen. The owner is quite simply one of the nicest people you could ever meet. So welcoming and nothing was too much trouble to deal with. A real hidden gem.

What a wonderful holiday!

Our family of four adults and three children stayed at Chateau Guibert for 2 weeks in June 2018 and from the moment we arrived, our host Monique made us extremely welcome. The spacious property was amazing, with everything available that you could possibly need for a comfortable stay.....the swimming pool was enjoyed every day! We have been going to France on holiday for a number of years and this has to be the very best property we have stayed at. Das Ferienhaus ist ein außergewöhnliches Juwel sowohl was die idyllische Lage am Wasser mit atemberaubender Aussicht angeht als auch bezüglich der hochwertigen Ausstattung. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts und alles ist liebevoll und praktisch eingerichtet. Im Außenbereich muss die große Plancha erwähnt werden, die das Grillen im Garten zu einem entspannten Erlebnis macht. Im etwas von der Terrasse abgetrennten Poolbereich konnten sich die Kinder amüsieren, während die Erwachsenen ruhige Rückzugsorte im Garten fanden. Der Sonnenuntergang von der Terrasse aus war unbeschreiblich und nachts stört kein Umgebungslicht den Blick auf den Sternenhimmel.Der Ort hat keinen Supermarkt oder Restaurants, so dass ein Auto für die Versorgung notwendig ist. Der Baguette-Automat direkt neben dem Haus gewährleistet aber rund um die Uhr frisches Brot.Die nähere Umgebung biete viel Natur und hübsche kleinen Ortschaften. Das Marais poitevin ist nicht weit und auch die Küste mit ihren Stränden ist gut erreichbar.Das Haus ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen und wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Ein wundervoller Ort zum relaxen

Das Haus ist ein Traum, alles super sauber und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. An Ausstattung fehlt wirklich nichts! Man könnte das Haus auch ohne weiteres mit 3 Paaren mieten, da es wirklich sehr groß ist und jedes Schlafzimmer über ein eigenes Bad verfügt. Der Pool ist beheitzt, groß genug um auch ein paar Bahnen zu schwimmen und wurde mehrmals gereinigt. Für alle, die Erholung suchen ist dieses Objekt bestens zu empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Die Gastgeberin war sehr angagiert und war immer erreichbar :)

Wonderful fully kitted out property

We had a tremendous time staying in Monique’s house. The property is perfectly placed for touring the area by car - with most destinations about an hour away - be it coast or further inland. Communications were excellent and Monique was just a phone call away if any issues arose, which they did not. Highly recommended home.

Perfect in every way - the pictures do not do it justice.

Can we please take La Metairie everywhere we go in the future? I can only echo all the other reviews. Tastefully restored, spotlessly clean, loads of space, great views and everything else you could think to need in a home. Although the house was well placed to venture into the Vendee, on most days we chose to laze around the pool and patio. To ease our guilt, some mornings we undertook the 4 mile walk around the lake. The local supermarket has everything you need including a variety of pork or beef kebabs which are best cooked on the outside grill with an ice cold beer in hand, looking out over the lake - heaven!. In addition to the above, it was all the other little things that added to our stay, including ample clean linen and cutlery, coffee maker, the home cinema, wifi in very room (for the kids!!), the pool furniture, the patio furniture etc. etc. We have stayed in properties in France, Spain and Italy - this is best. All of the above, plus Monique was an absolute honey. We would certainly come here again.

The perfect home for a relaxing weekend in the french countryside, it doesnt get any better

I can not recommend this property enough, it was faultless in every way. This is not just a house but a home, upon arrival Monique (the owner) made us feel very welcome and showed us around, making sure we were settled in before leaving us to enjoy the property for our long weekend. The whole property is beautifully decorated with a homely rustic feel. Although rustic the finish and quality is superb, the mattresses were very comfy, and the kitchen is better equipped than in my own home. Even the TV was top of the range with a great sound system and quick wi-fi. It was also spotless from top to bottom. We stayed as a group of eight and everyone had plenty of space to come and go as they needed. You will need cars though as the nearest town with any shops are around 7km away, but even that is a small town with just a few places. However that was exactly what we wanted, it was very tranquil and made you feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Getting from La Rochelle airport to the accommodation was very easy and takes around an hour by car, with a large supermarket around 20mins away (but en-route). We are all looking forward to going back again, although it was very pretty in the winter I think when it's warm it will be even nicer with the use of the large private pool and lots of outdoor activities.

Großartiges Ferienhaus in ruhiger Natur

Das Haus in sehr ruhiger Lage ist überaus hochwertig und perfekt ausgestattet. Die Einrichtung ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Der Blick sowohl aus der großen hellen Wohnküche wie auch aus dem Garten auf See, Wald und Wiesen ist atemberaubend. Alles ist sehr sauber. Bequeme Betten, umfängliche Ausstattung an Handtüchern, Geschirrtüchern und Tischwäsche. Die Küche ist bestens mit vielen verschiedenen Geräten, etc. bestückt. Kerzen und viele andere Accessoires machen das Anwesen besonders gemütlich und strahlen eine sehr erholsame Atmosphäre aus. Auch ist ein hervorragender Gasgrill vorhanden. Die Vermieter haben uns herzlich empfangen und waren hervorragende Gastgeber. Sie haben den Pool umfassend und sehr regelmäßig gereinigt. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Excellent accomodation

The property was very clean, modern and comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and the bath/shower rooms were very well equipped and we were supplied with ample towels and linens.The owners were very charming, welcoming and helpful. The view from the kitchen/dining area was very pleasant and in spite of some dismal weather during the week we were very warm and cosy and appreciated the log burning stove and the underfloor heating. The property and our welcome by the owners exceeded our best expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend this holiday home.

Charme et confort!

Le charme de cette maison paysanne rénovée avec un goût remarquable fait que notre séjour à Château-Guibert aura été synonyme de découverte, d'enchantement et de ressourcement. L'accueil des propriétaires de cette maison, très bien équipée à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur, et dotée de salles de bains privatives pour chacune des trois chambres, ajoute le petit plus qui permet à tout locataire de se sentir comme il le souhaite afin de visiter une région dont l'offre est riche et variée. Encore merci pour les excellents pots de confiture maison et pour l'hospitalité qui nous a été offerte. Les familles Chevalier et Gremion
