L'ESCALE DU VIEUX PORT: Gran casa antigua en el corazón de un pueblo de pescadores a 20 m del puerto, completamente renovada y decorada con buen gusto por un diseñador de interiores. Disfruta del gimnasio o de la sala principal con TV (canales franceses, ingleses y alemanes), home cinema, radio, libros y juegos para pasar un rato en familia. Esta casa te ofrece amplios espacios. La gran cocina y la sala de estar se combinan armoniosamente y las acogedoras habitaciones invitan a relajarse. La chimenea con almacenamiento de leña ofrece privacidad y comodidad. 2 baños están a su disposición: uno en la planta baja con el gimnasio y el otro cerca de las habitaciones de arriba. Todas las habitaciones son independientes entre sí. Debido a la vida portuaria con comerciantes, restaurantes y pescadores cercanos, se puede disfrutar de la vida de un puerto pesquero y estar en contacto directo con los habitantes. Comprar pescado fresco aquí es tan fácil como croissants por la mañana.
La comarca también invita al relax con sus carriles bici, su campo de golf de 36 hoyos cerca de nuestra casa, nuestros caminos de ronda, etc...

Nuestra Región: Ofrece una variedad muy amplia de sitios históricos muy interesantes. Además de los conocidos pueblos del desembarco del Día D (OMAHA, ARROMANCHES, PORT EN BESSIN, el primer puerto petrolero aliado, LA POINTE DU HOC, LA CAMBE, etc.), puede visitar los numerosos castillos y mansiones de nuestra región. , así como los bellísimos pueblos de BAYEUX, que ha conservado toda su armonía histórica. El COTENTIN te espera con los puertos de ST VAAST LA HOUGUE, BARFLEUR, CHERBOURG, el faro de GATTEVILLE, los acantilados de NEZ DE JOBOURG, etc. Luego puede continuar hasta MONT SAINT MICHEL, preferiblemente por la mañana para evitar las multitudes. Magníficos paisajes, porque todo es accesible en pocos minutos en coche... Los románticos también zarparán hacia las islas CHAUSEY o TATIHOU...

Memorable stay

Excellent location, beautifully decorated, very well equipped. Lots of leaflets and books on the area and the Normandy Landings in particular. The owner, Mr Langlois, was so knowledgable about the town's past that his family had lived through. Plenty of places to eat, and it was very interesting to see the busy fishing harbour.

Incredible stay, highly recommend

We had a wonderful stay the house was lovely, spacious, and well equipped. The town itself was great, lovely shops, amazing crepes and a fantastic market on Sundays. The host went out of his way to make us feel welcome and was extremely informative. Overall a wonderful experience would highly recommend, we’re sad to be leaving such a lovely house and town.

Clean, spacious with all the facilities one needs. Wi-Fi to keep the kids happy, centrally located, bars and restaurants on your doorstep. Been coming here for the last 3 years and everything I ask the family where they'd like to go next year... always the same response.

Lovely area

Had a great hol, only negative comments are that no curtains in bedrooms due to being in roof space and difficult to sleep. Lovely host though and very helpful.

Spacious house in Port-en-Bessin near invasion beaches

Great stay in spacious town house, 20 paces from dockside, with private, secure car parking. Landlord Jean Francois extremely helpful. He speaks knowledgeably and passionately about the D-day landings,Port en Bessin, and the involvement of his family and neighbours. A stay here is recommended

An excellent property - even better than photos!

This is the very best Gite that we have ever stayed in France. It is a really wonderful and comfortable property with all the facilities that you need. It is very well appointed and in a great location. We enjoyed our stay and fully agree with all the previous comments made. Mr and Mrs LANGLOIS are extremely friendly and very helpful - really nice people! This property is very very highly recommended!!!!

Normandy Gem

We have stayed in many gites in all parts of France. This apartment is one of the best and most comfortable. The flat was even better in real life than the photos on the web site. The little fishing village was a great base for exploring Normandy, close to everything. I highly recommend this property!

Wonderful Normandy Holiday

This is a wonderful property. We stayed here before in 2019, so we knew this is a great apartment in a cool fishing village. We stayed for two weeks this year and had a great time. M. Langlois is the perfect host! We had several interesting conversations about Normandy, Port-en-Bessin, and the French and Americans. We have stayed in many properties all over France; this is one of the very best.

Fabulous Port-en-Bessin

Fantastic property in the perfect location. Great hosts who are available with plenty of information about the local area and history. Very accommodating and friendly. House is exactly as described and we found it larger than it looked in the photos. Despite the time of year we had some lovely sunny days and got to enjoy the “goût du large” event on the weekend of our arrival., definitely an added bonus. Great location from which to explore the Normandy coastline and WW2 sites.

Centrally located, with the bonus of secure off-street parking

This lovely old house is right in the centre of town, close to the fishing port, and it has been nicely refurbished by the owner, especially the 1st and 2nd floors (living room/kitchen/dining area on 1st floor and bedroom areas on 2nd floor). There is a washing machine and extra toilet on the ground floor. The secure off street parking is very useful and the location is (by car) very convenient for visiting key WWII D-day locations and the Bayeux tapestry. The fishing port itself has a rich history in which the owner is very knowledgeable and he is happy to take time to share his stories and answer questions. Communication with the owner was excellent, and he went out of his way to provide additional information to ensure we had a fabulous stay at Port-en-Bessin-Huppain!

Wonderful!

I so appreciate when the owner goes to the effort to make small touches to the property to make it a home. For example, a small table and chair in the bedroom to apply makeup. Lovely white sheets and quality towels . The tv in the bedroom was a plus. The kitchen was very well appointed, as I cook. Quality cookware and very nice dishes and glassware as we did entertain . Mr. Francois could not have been more kind. He escorted us to the local farmer’s market and guided us to the best vendors, Just a kind , thoughtful man. So lovely to meet such a thoughtful owner who truly cares about his renters.

Charm and convenience right in the heart of Normandy

My parents, wife and I spent 7 days at the property and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is larger than in the pictures, offers a great kitchen and three levels of living, while being in walking distance to three grocery stores and several restaurants in Port-en-Bessin. Jean (owner) was extremely helpful and welcoming, and even went above and beyond to help us get our parking pass to re-enter the town during the D-Day ceremonies. We would recommend this property and would absolutely stay here again if in the area. Pro’s: ——- + Large, modern space + Spacious kitchen and dining area. We cooked several meals on the stove with no problem + Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. All well equipped and the bedrooms have design charm being on the third floor with exposed beam ceilings + Laundry (washing) on-site, with room to hang clothes + Some workout equipment in the lower level + Great location. Right in the heart of Port en Bessin, walking distance to several restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacy and shops Also, driving to the landing beaches and museums was very convenient + Attentive, available and helpful owner + Good working Wi-Fi + Parking space right next to the home + Good light inside the home Con’s ——- - Lower floor toilet was slow to work and the lower floor bathroom is not very private. It is more of a shared space. - We were not able to understand how to use the oven, so some directions would be helpful - The beds are a little small. More like double bed size. - It was not an issue for us, but the property has a lot of stairs, so if you have a mobility issue, please be aware

Das sehr schön und liebevoll eingerichtete Ferienhaus hat uns genauso begeistert, wie die äußerst freundliche und großzügige Betreuung durch den Vermieter. Die ungewöhnliche Lage im Zentrum von Port en Bessin, die dennoch nie laut war, der abgeschlossene Privatparkplatz und die vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung haben im Gesamtpaket zu einem sehr gelungenen Urlaub geführt. Haus und Vermieter haben 11 von 10 Punkten verdient!

Sehr schöne geräumige Ferienwohnung mit allem was man braucht. Zwei Schlafzimmer, Bäder und eine große Küche mit Wohnzimmer. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Beste Lage im Ort und fußläufig zu vielen Restaurants. Es ist auch eine gute Lage um Tagesausflüge zu machen. Die Vermieter sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen.

80. Jahrestag D-Day

Port-en-Bessin ist ideal an den Landungsstränden gelegen. Die Wohnung ist mitten im Ort, nahe der Hafenpromenade mit viel Gastronomie, aber trotzdem ruhig. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich, hat angeboten alles über den Ort zu erzählen. Es gab ein Willkommensgruß und ein Abschiedsgeschenk. Ein wirklich schöner Aufenthalt! Empfehlenswert!

We have decided to rent our house in order to receive tourists who want to discover our beautiful region. Our activities are focused on tourism and the discovery of our region.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The house is situated at the heart of the region, only a few metres away from the harbour, the shops, the restaurants, and the regional activities. It is the reflection of the fishermen's houses in which a spirit remains, giving it a soothing atmosphere.
A decorator brought her own delicate touch. On the ground floor, you enter the house, through a corridor that leads you upstairs and to the rest of the house, as well as to relaxing area, a fitness room, a shower room (which includes a sink, a shower and an separate toilet), and a baggage room. Upstairs, the large spaces allow you to go easily from the living area (the kitchen open onto the dining room) and the living room, where you can enjoy the crackling of the fire coming from the closed fireplace. This living room consists of a comfortable sofa which can be turned into a double bed at night.
The two bedrooms are on the second floor and add to the soothing atmosphere of the house, with great spaces under the roof structure. There is also a shower room with WC on this floor.
The direct vicinity with the shops is very convenient and you can even buy fresh fish caught during the night less than 100 m away from the house.
A few meters away, you will have access to the harbour and its activities, and, during summer, great fireworks are launched from there.
Every Sunday morning, you can go to the local market, which is very popular in the region.
