Located at west of Madeira, Orchid House is a Madeira typical accommodation surrounded by small plots of land were locals work daily on their vegetables and fruits.
The accommodation suits four persons, in two double bedrooms with air conditioning. The living room with a large sofa and a fireplace offers confort and cosiness.
There is a place to park the car, and proximity to some levada hikes, such Rocha Vermelha - PR 28, Levada Nova - PR7, 25 Fontes - PR 6, Rabaçal, Risco PR - 6.1.

très agréable demeure

Quel bel accueil sur l'île ! De plus, logée dans une très agréable demeure, impeccablement propre, très bien équipée, spacieuse, balcon, emplacement de parking, en bref, parfait .... La localisation près de Calheta nous a permis de profiter de la plage, ce qui n'est pas évident sur le reste de l'île. Bref, nous ne gardons que de très bons souvenirs !

Perfect place to stay and explore Madeira

We have stayed with 4 persons in this house for one week to see Madeira. It was comfortable and clean. All the necessary comfort you need, you find in this house. There is enough space as well . The surrounding is also very beautiful and very peaceful. The village is also very nice. Nearby there is also a supermarket. The house owner was very kind and helpful. Definitely we will return! thanks for everything.

A wonderful surprise

The house is very spacious and clean and perfect in every way for our purposes, car touring around the island and for hiking. The location is good to leave to different directions of the island. The hostess was very pleasant and respectful of privacy.

Nice and clean house

We stayed at Silvias House for one week in November. Unfortunately the weather was bad and cold. The House has nö heating, so it was a little cold in the evening. The House is well equipped, we found everything we needed in best condition. The view from the balcony is great and the balcony a wonderful Place to be, if weather is Fine :) Thanks Silvia for these wonderful days. Regards from Germany

preciosa casa

Me encantó la casa,muy recomendable.Todo muy limpio y ordenado. Unas vistas preciosas,me gusto mucho el lugar,tranquilo pero cerca de sitios de interes. La propietaria muy simpatica,sabe ingles y se desenvuelve bastante bien en español. Recomiendo comer en el restaurante del puerto de calheta rocha mar,todo riquisimo y bien precio.

Very beautiful holiday house

Very beautiful holiday house, we enjoyed each day of our vacation. The house had everything we need, even WLAN/Internet (it was even faster than my Internet connection at home). Very nice view over the ocean and it's also very quiet and peaceful there. Silvia did respond to all of our requests very quickly. Recommended!

prima appartement en een mooi eiland!

Wij hebben met 4 personen dit appartement gehuurd voor 2 weken, erg netjes en ook een vriendelijke eigenares. Alles wat we nodig hadden was aanwezig. Madeira is een geweldig eiland om te bezoeken en te bewonderen. Deze locatie is ook erg mooi en vanuit dit plaatsje ook leuke tripjes te maken. Echt een aanrader en voor ons de moeite waard om het nog eens te herhalen.

Amazing Villa, beautiful place

It was a great week on Madeira Island! The House in Calheta is very good located, perfect to hike to Rabaçal and Paul da Serra. Its in a calm place and with a beautiful mountain and sea view. The lady owner is very kind and always ready to help us in anything. We recomend for sure this lovely House to all.

Wohlfühlhaus

Wir haben uns sehr wohl im "Orchid House" gefühlt. Alles war sehr sauber und bei Problemen stand Silvia hilfreich zur Seite. Der Blick auf Meer und Landschaft vom Balkon an der Frontseite des Hauses aus war sehr schön!

Sehr schönes Haus mit Meerblick und Top Ausstattung

Das Orchidenhaus ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Der Blick auf das Meer ist einfach traumhaft. Das Haus ist sehr sauber , gepflegt und bietet alles was man braucht zum Wohnen und seinen Urlaub zu genießen. Der Kontakt mit Silvia war sehr angenehm und herzlich. Ich kann den Aufenthalt im Orchidenhaus nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Danke Silvia und Liebe Grüße aus dem Schwarzwald Marko

A great property in great place!

We had a fantastic time in Madeira! The property was very clean, cosy and well equipped and was a pleasure to come back to at the end of long day of walking. Breakfast on the balcony was great and the views were amazing. The property is ideally based for exploring Madeira and is close to a supermarket which was very useful. Silvia was there to meet us which was a lovely touch. Silvia was also very good at providing information via WhatsApp when we had questions. Madeira is a wonderful, peaceful island and would recommend this property to anybody wishing to spend a relaxing time in this beautiful place.

Gemütliches und sehr sauberes Ferienhaus

Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin Silvia war schon vor der Anreise sehr hilfreich. Auch vor Ort stand sie für Fragen jederzeit zur Verfügung und erkundigte sich gelegentlich und auf angenehme Art nach unserem Wohlbefinden. Die Unterkunft selbst ist gut ausgestattet, gemütlich und sehr sauber. Das Haus ist ruhig und schön gelegen und lädt zum Entspannen auf den ebenfalls vorhandenen Liegestühlen ein. Auf dem Balkon sowie auf dem hinter dem Haus gelegenen Außenbereich mit Grillstelle kann man den Tag perfekt ausklingen lassen. Der dazugehörige Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus ist ebenfalls von Vorteil. Insgesamt ist das Orchid House absolut zu empfehlen.

Schön gelegenes, gemütliches, sauberes Ferienhaus im Süden Madeiras

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Orchid House sehr genossen. Durch seine Lage in ca. 500 m Höhe hat man vom Balkon aus einen tollen Blick über das Meer und in die umliegenden Hügel. Man benötigt aber einen Mietwagen, ein Stellplatz vor dem Haus ist vorhanden. Das Haus hat alles, was man für den Aufenthalt benötigt. Silvia ist über Whatsapp immer gut erreichbar und kümmert sich aufmerksam und unaufdringlich um ihre Gäste.

Sehr schönes Haus mit Meerblick und guter Ausstattung

Wir waren 2 Wochen in diesem sehr schönen Haus. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und es ist alles vorhanden was man zum täglichen Leben braucht. Neuerdings gibt es sogar einen Kaminofen der bisher noch nicht in der Beschreibung aufgeführt ist. Wifi arbeitet schnell und störungsfrei. Fernseher mit Sat-Empfang aller internationaler Kanäle. (auch alle deutschen). Ein Auto ist auf jeden Fall erforderlich wegen der Hanglage. Dafür gibt es allerdings kostenlos den tollen Ausblick. Das Haus liegt oberhalb von Calheta mitten zwischen Einheimischen und nicht in einer Anlage. Man kann den Einheimischen bei der Gartenarbeit auf ihren kleinen Terassenfeldern zuschauen. Ausgenommen positiv zu erwähnen ist der nette Kontakt zur Vermieterin, die sich während des Aufenthaltes immer wieder per whatsapp erkundigt, ob alles in Ordnung ist und es an nichts fehlt. In dieser positiven absolut unaufdringlichen Art haben wir das bisher noch nie erlebt. Es war unser erster Aufenthalt auf Madeira. Die Insel ist traumhaft schön und hat für den jeden etwas zu bieten. In erster Linie natürlich auch für Wanderer. Da man in 2 Wochen nicht alles sehen kann werden wir auf jeden Fall versuchen noch einmal wieder zu kommen. Wonderful site to explore the island

We are thinking so much back to the wonderful days we spent at Madeira and at Silvia's house which is situated in an authentic environment of Madeira - of course uphills and a good site to explore most parts of the Island. While sitting on the balcony we enjoyed the beautiful views of the southern coast and watched the locals' "normal life" The house is equiped with everything you need incl. television (no german programm) and wifi. Silvia is a perfect host always providing tipps and recommendations. The rent is more than worth while.

Lovely country house

Great views from terrace. Very comfortable beds. Wonderful host Silvia. Top floor is all open tile floor....great place to do yoga. Good cable tv and wifi. Excellent location for getting to many towns and hiking trails.

Quiet place, perfect to relax and watch the locals regular days. Perfect to hear birds singing, walk by the neighbour experiencing rural life and exchange smiles saying 'bom dia' - good morning, with residents, its a must at this place!
