Una casa de finales de siglo con un jardín privado ubicado en el centro de Coniston, a 2 minutos a pie de las tiendas del pueblo, pubs y restaurantes.
A un corto paseo de las costas de Coniston Water ya un paso de las colinas y senderos. Las vistas del viejo hombre y Yewdale Crags de la casa y el jardín son inspiradores.
Toda la casa ha sido renovada y amueblada con un alto estándar con accesorios y accesorios de calidad. En toda la casa hay una hermosa fotografía proporcionada por un amigo de la familia, David Bretnall.(www. db-photo. com).
Hay una pieza única y sorprendente de vidrio con plomo artesanal en el salón que representa a Coniston Water and Fells, diseñada y fabricada por Sarah Lace, una amiga y vecina (Sarah hace encargos si tienes una idea para una pieza de vidrio única)
Distribuidos en tres plantas, hay un salón, un comedor separado, una cocina nueva totalmente equipada, 2 dormitorios con cama extra grande y un dormitorio con 2 camas individuales, un baño y un aseo con ducha.
La cocina tiene una cocina y encimera Bosch, frigorífico Zannusi y lavavajillas Neff.
En el salón se encuentran 2 suntuosos sofás Bouyant en los que sumergirse después de un día en las colinas y una estufa de leña Stovax en un hermoso hogar de pizarra verde para mantenerlo acogedor por la noche.
Las dos habitaciones dobles grandes cuentan con impresionantes camas de roble y colchones de muelles muy cómodos. El dormitorio principal en el piso superior tiene una cómoda de roble y mesitas de noche a juego con cajones. Hay un vestidor incorporado / walk in El dormitorio con dos camas en la parte trasera de la casa tiene 2 modernas camas individuales de tamaño completo con colchones de calidad, armario de pino, con cajones y mesita de noche a juego y una vista de Coniston Old Man para despertarse.

La habitación doble delantera en el primer piso también tiene una hermosa cama king size de roble, un elegante armario doble estilo época y una cómoda con incrustaciones decorativas, uno de los gabinetes de noche es encantador pino granulado

En el piso superior hay un baño familiar con azulejos con un baño de 800 mm de ancho, ducha mira mezclador, lavabos para él y para ella y un inodoro.
También contamos con una sala de ducha en la planta baja con un gran recinto, inodoro y lavabo de tamaño completo. Está decorado con hermosos mosaicos de travertino.

En la parte trasera hay un patio cerrado pavimentado con piedra local y al otro lado del pequeño carril privado está el jardín y el garaje.
El jardín es principalmente césped y bordes herbáceos con un área de patio pequeño. Es una trampa para el sol orientada al sur y hay una vista absolutamente fantástica de las colinas.
Hemos proporcionado muebles de jardín de buena calidad para seis personas.
A solo 2 minutos de la casa se encuentra el centro del pueblo. Aquí encontrará todos los servicios necesarios y, afortunadamente, algunos pubs geniales. Hay un carnicero del pueblo dentro de la tienda Nisa, el tocino curado casero y las salchichas son geniales. Cada pub tiene su propio carácter, buenas cervezas y comida excelente. ¡El Black Bull tiene su propia cervecería! Incluso hay un excelente restaurante indio y el Gastro Bistro Steam es muy recomendable (se necesita reserva previa)
La casa tiene wifi ilimitado, un televisor inteligente, solo permitimos un perro bien educado que no debe subir ni a los muebles.
Las escaleras son empinadas y no permitimos fumar de ningún tipo.

Perfect location in Coniston

A beautifully decorated house, with everything you could need provided. Information from the owners was excellent, with plenty of local recommendations for activities and eating out. Well located in the heart of Coniston, with lovely views of the fells.

Lovely property, very nicely done+perfect location

We were very impressed with the property. Really well equipped, nice decor, very comfortable beds and very cosy. Loved the wood burner... Couldn't be more impressed with the house and that along with perfect location for a visit to the lakes... Will definitely be staying here again next time we're in the lakes.

Return to Coniston

Returned to stay in this lovely house in Coniston. Ideally located for walking, paddle boarding, and enjoying the lakes. Close to all the amenities Coniston has to offer. This characterful house is well equipped and maintained with a lovely little garden.

Ideally placed, immaculate home

We arrived late on Friday night, but it didn't cause a problem, as the heating had been turned on and we had been given clear instructions about where to get provisions. The house was great, plenty of crockery and cooking equipment and very comfy beds. Coniston is a great base for walking and exploring the Lakes and the house made relaxing in the evenings or visiting pubs and restaurants very easy.

Nice house and very handy for shops, access for walks and pubs

All mod cons, clean and ready to use. A sack of logs was left for us but the weather was too mild to warrant lighting the wood burner. Would come again so long as the group wasn’t more than 4 - a bit cramped in the dining room.

Exceeded our Expectaions!

We booked to stay in this accommodation and expected it to be nice but the photos really don't do it justice. The place has very large rooms, it was very clean, well equipped and in the perfect location. It has a very homely feel, the log burning fire was fantastic and there was a lot of books and maps to help with the local area if you are unfamiliar with it as we were. We can't wait for our next stay here next year in August! David & Jayne - October 2017

Excellent Weekend in the Lakes

This property is perfect for a weekend away in the lakes. It’s very central in Coniston but still quiet so much so we never took the cars out at all! The house is well equipped and beautifully appointed and the communication from Brad was excellent. As noted in the details the staircase is steep and one of the bathrooms is one the second floor but we just felt you needed to be careful on them and then they were fine. Thanks Brad and Sue for a very memorable stay.

Wonderful cosy Christmas stay

This is the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in, because it’s a beautiful home. Stayed for 5 days over Christmas. The home was spotlessly clean, and had lots of lovely little touches, Christmas Tree and lots of lovely decorations, door mat, logs for the fire, hand soap, games, logs for the wood burner, basically everything you need, it felt very thoughtful and extremely homely. The house is very spacious for 6, with lovely rooms, comfortable beds and the best stocked kitchen, which was superb for cooking our Christmas lunch in. Highly recommend the property, Brad and Sue were great, good communication, they gave us tips on the area, and a few walks which we did and really enjoyed. We would love to stay again. Coniston is such a lovely place to stay, especially in the winter, we had some stunning walks and views. Thank you for sharing your home!

Delightful property within 1 minute of Coniston centre

We were delighted with the property - it was spotless on arrival with ample space for a family of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers). The lounge was a great place to relax at the end of a long day walking. With the kitchen at the rear and a shower room at the end of the kitchen this made getting clean so much easier and helped to keep the rest of the house mud free (we had rain) and all the more relaxing for it. The top bedroom was very cosy and comfortable giving a good nights sleep. The kids seemed to like their rooms too and this allowed them to have some space to themselves too. Brad and Sue (the owners) have everything covered and provided lots of excellent information before hand on where to eat and drink etc. We had a fantastic meal in the Steam Bistro but you will have to book in advance. We also ate in 3 of the pubs while there - we first visited the Yewdale Inn where the general bar staff were very welcoming and helpful and the food was very good overall. However, we were disappointed by the landlords attitude who ignored our children at the bar when no-one else was waiting and, initially, told us we would have to eat somewhere else because his kitchen would close in 15 minutes. Thankfully his bar staff recovered it for him and checked if the kitchen would be able to take another order. The landlord seemed more intent on imparting his knowledge or fine wine and gins to anyone who would listen rather than looking after customers. Its a nice pub with nice food and staff and would recommend regardless. One to avoid is the Sun Inn - we had a drink in here on the second night and they were very welcoming and we had a great time. As a result we decided to go back and eat there and very much wish we hadn't. The food arrived extremely quickly but with one dish (fish and chips) missing. This didn't arrive without chasing and when it did the fish batter was a pale grey and looked half cooked - which it was. The sun did replace it and offer a drink on the house which recovered some ground for them but the food overall was not up to scratch and lacked a little flavour and imagination compared to: The Black Bull - we stopped in here for a quick drink after a 13 mile hike - the food looked excellent and the fish and chips was superb (several classes above the Ship's offering). The range of beers and ales was also better in here and the whole atmosphere was so much more enjoyable. This was our favourite pub for food and drink

Great house, beautiful location

Beautifully presented and excellently equipped house with tremendous views of the hills around Coniston, particularly from ensuite bedroom on top floor. Feels more like a home than a holiday rental with all the framed pictures, books, maps and very well equipped kitchen. Good shower in downstairs bathroom which is accessed from the kitchen. Choice of 3 food shops and 3 pubs within 5 minutes walk offer dining choices. We preferred cooking ourselves after an early evening drink sitting in the sunshine outside a pub. Communication with owners Brad and Sue was simple and efficient from start to finish.Would highly recommend staying here.

Drei Tage im Lake District

Wir haben mit unserer Familie eine England Rundreise gemacht, bei der unser dritte Stop das Haus von Brad und Sue in Coniston war. Im Haus war alles in Ordnung. Was uns gefehlt hat war die direkte Anbindung vom Haus zum Garten, was aber bei vielen Unternehmungen außerhalb des Hauses und bei dem wechselhaften englischen Wetter akzeptabel war.

Superb property in the heart of Coniston

Myself and 2 friends rented this property for our annual visit to the lakes. The house was super clean, very well equipped (up-to-date) and tastefully decorated. It's location is fantastic with only a few minutes walk to shops and pubs. There's takeaways in the village if you don't want to eat at the pubs also. There's a dedicated parking space for 1 car and the house has a lovely log burning stove in the kitchen which makes for a lovely warm sitting room after a day walking the fells. The owner was very helpful with suggested walks and places to eat and very responsive to emails and queries. The only thing to note is that the staircase to the 1st floor is very steep so anyone whom is infirm or has difficulty with stairs might struggle. The house was exactly as described/shown on the advertisement and I cannot recommend the house enough for a welcoming place to stay in Coniston as a base. I'd wouldn't hesitate to use the property again when visiting Coniston in the future.

Excellent Property - Shame About the Parking

An excellent base for exploring this area of The Lakes. A real home from home, very comfortable, clean & well equipped. However, one of the key reasons we booked this property was for the off road parking & use of the garage to store bikes & kayaks. What we didn’t foresee was the neighbour deciding to not only use the parking space for themselves but to also block the garage door access. Sadly when asked to move the car the neighbour was less than obliging & very rude. We contacted the owner & he did his best to sort it but tbh it soured the end of our holiday.

Very comfortable and well-equipped house.

We were very comfortable in this house in Coniston. It was spotlessly clean, furnished and decorated to a high standard and everything felt new or nearly new. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The little garden was charming. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough for us to spend much time in it. The house is in a quiet side road just a couple of minutes walk from the village centre and about ten down to the lake. Gave 4 stars not 5 for location only because the view from the lounge is the houses across the street. Not a big deal, and obviously you pay more for a view. Brad was very helpful with lots of information about walks and places to eat, and when I couldn't get the heating to turn on (easily fixed). If you like somewhere quiet with lakes and hills on the doorstep this is a lovely place to stay.

Lovely property in a great location

A lovely traditional property in a good location. Coniston is a lovely quiet village, away from the crazy busyness of the more tourist areas, yet only 20 minutes from Windermere. I hope we will have the opportunity to stay again.

We live in South Cheshire and have spent many happy days around the fells and mountains of the Lake District and Snowdonia. The photo above is us near the Summit of the Old Man after traversing Dow Crag last September, terrific day out.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We have always loved the Lake District and especially the quieter unspoilt towns and villages such as Coniston, it is a privilege to be able to spend time and relax in such a community in the midst of some of Britain's most stunning scenery. We worked hard for a year to create a home in the village, during that time we experienced unbelievable help and hospitality and made new friends, this makes Coniston a special place for us.
We have refirbished, decorated and furnished the house as a home as though we were intending to live there and so you should find every comfort needed for great holiday.
You really could dump the car and not need it all week. From the house you can access every level of walk from flat easy trek to serious mountain day out. Just over the hill is Grizedale Forest if mountain biking is your sport. You're only a short distance from all central high fells and within reach of the remote western fells if you want a longer day out. You can easily get back to base camp in Coniston from any of these .
If you really want to visit the hub bub of the big town you can pop up to Ambleside safe in the knowledge that Coniston isn't far away!
The house is 2 minutes from the village centre where you can find the Co op, cafes, bakers, hardware shop and Hutchinsons butcher in the Nisa shop, the home cured bacon is great. There's outdoor shops, news agents and gift shops too, including the famous Honesty Shop selling a variety of hand made products, jam and cakes.
The Spar /garage which sells practically everything is open until 22:00. There are several good pubs in the village centre and more further afield. The Black Bull has a brewery making great real ales including famous Bluebird bitter.
We have a great bakery supplying a whole range of artisan breads.
Saras Indian restaurant is very good. Steam Bistro is excellent "gastro" dining (150m from home) Both are unlicensed so take your own "medicine". Saras is cash only. You must book ahead at Steam.

The views from the house and garden are incredible, we find it impossible not to delight at the morning sun lighting up Yewdale Crags when you pull back the curtains, when you step out of the back door you can't help but glance up to the fells. If you sit in the garden you'll undoubtedly end up studying the endless cliffs and crags of the Old Man whilst all the time you will hear Church Beck rushing off to Coniston Water.
The house has every home comfort that you may need from comfortable beds to a range of Bosh appliances. BT super fast broadband allows you to stream movies on the smart TV. Plenty of guide books help you plan your days out.
