This is a lovely home with incredible views. We loved spending time in the outdoor areas. It is well equipped for cooking and there is a small walkable market and a larger grocery in Plaka. Don’t miss the nearby Koutalas beach which you can walk down to. Mikalis is a wonderful host/property manager and bent over backwards to make our stay exceptional.

Truly amazing!

Stayed for a week and loved every minute. Photos online do not do it justice. Pool is much bigger than I thought and the view hypnotic. The bar is now set very high and not sure how we are going surpass this one!

Wonderful relaxing stay

We loved our week at this villa. The house has the most incredible views out over the sea and the distant mountains. It is well equipped and has air-conditioning in the bedrooms. The garden is beautifully maintained and is a pleasure to be in. Of special mention is the pool which is a brilliant size for really swimming around and doing laps in. Particularly useful is to have a little supermarket and a great Taverna just a few minutes walk away from the Villa. My husband and I would both recommend this villa very highly thank you Alain.

Great Villa, fantastic view

The Villa was just as advertised with a fantastic view, great pool, lots of places to sit and take it in, well equipped and very private. Also Michalis who managed it was excellent, helpful, responsive and very communicative, always felt like we had someone close by who could help and give advice on restaurants, shops, anything. He also came to find us when we couldn’t quite find the villa. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Spectacular view

The house was clean and well equipped. The location was spectacular with a beautiful view and close (within 2 miles) of several restaurants and markets. The property manager was available day or night. As a matter of fact, the property's driveway was difficult to find and the manager came out at 3:00 am to guide us in, which we weary travelers very much appreciated!

Amazing home with amazing views

We had a wonderful time in this lovely villa. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The property managers were great and responded to any problems or questions we had very promptly, we got a little lost trying to find the villa. There are so many places to eat around that area. Plaka is just down the road and offers quite a few restaurants and a little grocery store. We ate at Takis twice, such lovely people. A little further down is the beach town of Almyrida. We loved Crete and will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing stay for our 30th wedding anniversary!!!

We absolutely loved our stay here! We cannot say enough good things about our week long stay in this villa. The house is gorgeous, tons of sitting areas for groups, well equipped kitchen, washing machine with lots of hanging racks, plenty of loungers and umbrellas available around the pool. The pool!! It Is absolutely stunning. The communication was fantastic and prompt with the property manager. Always available for any questions we had. 1 bedroom is on the main floor and 2 upstairs which was great for any with mobility issues. Using Apple Maps or Google maps gave us perfect directions to the villa and we enjoyed regular dinners at Taki’s where there is bunch of restaurants and supermarkets only @5min drive away. Thanks for having us and we hope we can can return someday :)

Beautiful Villa, incredible view

Wow! What a beautiful villa with the most spectacular view. The sunsets are amazing. Our children had a wonderful time in the pool every day. Plenty of outdoor space and seating to make the most of the views of the bay and mountains. Two tavernas and mini market within strolling distance plus more at Almyrida about 10mins drive away. Owner kept good communication and the local manager who waited with the keys and brought us cake mid week was lovely (cake was delicious!) Thank you to Alain and Michalis for a truly wonderful stay - we didn’t want to leave!

Perfect stay

From the start the experience was great. Michalis was waiting for us at the villa when we arrived. He took the time to walk us through the inside and outside of the villa and provided us with several dining and sightseeing options. We stayed for 6 nights. The wonderful villa acted as both a point from which to explore Crete and an oasis of relaxation, hanging out on the decks, chatting and taking in the beautiful views. The villa had everything we needed. We did not have to think about a thing. Just showed up and started relaxing. We had a car and that made getting to nearby villages and towns easy but a lovely tavern and mini market were only a short walk away (under 10 minutes). The whole experience was fantastic and would definitely stay again should we be fortunate to have another opportunity to visit Crete.

Die Villa Massalia ist sehr gepflegt und komfortabel eingerichtet, es fehlt an nichts. Freundlicher Empfang durch Leonidas, der uns nach der Übergabe des Hauses noch per whatsapp viele weitere nützliche Informationen zur Umgebung zukommen liess. Auf dem Esstisch erwarteten uns ein riesiger Früchteteller und eine Flasche Weisswein. Die Lage der Villa ist traumhaft, von jeder Etage und selbst im grossen Infinity-Pool schwimmend geniesst man einen absolut spektakulären Blick auf das offene Meer und die Bucht von Souda. Der Garten ist schön angelegt und wirkt ebenfalls gepflegt. In Fussdistanz (5-10 Min.) gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt und eine Taverne, mit dem Auto erreicht man in wenigen Minuten das Nachbardorf mit weiteren Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und empfehlenswerten Tavernen; auch zum Meer ist es nicht weit. Wir hatten einen fantastischen Aufenthalt in der Villa Massalia und träumen von einer Rückkehr!

Superbe villa

La villa n'est pas réellement neuve comme indiqué sur le titre de l'annonce d'où quelle petit soucis ( climatisation, Nespresso défaillant...) Mais tout a été réglé très rapidement ( merci Mikalis) la villa est spacieuse et possède une vue à couper le souffle sur la baie. Mention spéciale pour la piscine à débordement. Nous avons passé un super séjour

Superbe vue et piscine

L’emplacement est superbe et on peut profiter d’une vue unique sur la mer de la terrasse et de la piscine. Piscine vraiment très belle, très agréable et très propre. Les hics et bémols qui ternissent un peu la belle qualité de la villa : Les photos de l’annonce ne montrent pas une villa accolée sur l’arrière de la maison. Bruits réguliers en provenance de l’aéroport et la base aérienne de Chania. Le titre de l’annonce mentionne « maison neuve » ?? C’est plutôt une maison bien rénovée extérieurement mais avec des points noirs à l’intérieur sur certains équipements: climatisation vieille et faible, 2 stores cassés, odeurs salle de bain rdc, plaque de cuisson peu efficace, coussins fauteuils fatigués La maison propose malgré tout beaucoup d’équipements de qualité: transats, parasols, … et grand merci à Michalis pour l’accueil et toutes ses bonnes adresses de restaurants et de lieux à visiter ainsi que quelques attentions de bienvenue.

Nous prenons en compte vos remarques sur notre maison Cependant, toutes les évaluations ne tarissent pas d éloge sur la villa , et ne mentionnent aucun bruit venant de l aeroport qui est a trois quart d heure de route Les désagréments dont vous faites état n ont jamais été relevés par nos précédents locataires dont certains reviennent chaque année Mikalis, notre manager répond immédiatement à tout souci. Tant qu à la maison derrière chez nous, elle est invisible dès le portail franchi .

Très belle villa

Cette villa est idéalement située pour visiter et découvrir la partie ouest de la Crète (15 minutes de La Canée et 45 minutes de Rethynium. Je vous recommande cette location le rapport qualité / prix est juste parfait. Une vue a couper le souffle et THE piscine. Merci à Michalis et à Françoise pour l’accueil et les informations.

Séjour exceptionnel

Nous avons passé 2 semaines inoubliables. Magnifique région, les crétois sont très gentils et très accueillants. La maison correspond exactement aux photos. Les prestations sont carrément exceptionnelles. Magnifique piscine. La vue est fascinante, nous avons pu admirer des coucher de soleils à couper le souffle. Un grand merci à Michalis pour ses conseils, son dévouement, il a toujours répondu présent lorsque nous en avions besoin. Un grand merci au poolman pour sa gentillesse ainsi qu’aux femmes de ménage qui ont nettoyé la maison de fond en comble. En résumé : Un petit coin de paradis sur terre, nous reviendrons dès que possible.

Do we really have to leave?

From the moment we booked this beautiful property until the moment we reluctantly drove away on our way to the airport everything was perfect. The owner was extremely helpful, answering even the most unusual of questions (are there inflatables at the pool?!) quickly and warmly via email. Michalis, who manages the property locally could not have been more helpful. We got lost finding the villa and rather than try and describe the location to us, he drove and found us and accompanied us to the property! Once we knew where it was, we didn’t get lost again though, as it’s not actually that hard to find once you know where you’re going. The villa itself is lovely. Spotlessly clean, spacious, and with views that are simply breathtaking. The pool is a great size and there’s nothing quite like swimming along whilst looking out across the bay - sublime! And the sunsets…It’s as though they’re being put on especially for the villa! Unreal. The landscaping of the gardens is stunning, with beautiful fruit trees, olive groves and the kind of planting reminiscent of the tropics. It all made for the perfect place to relax on the days when we weren’t out sightseeing. We hired a car at the airport and I would definitely recommend it. We used carrental.com and got a great deal with Hertz. Keep checking the prices after you’ve booked though, as a week before we flew, I managed to cancel and rebook the exact same car for £160 less! We drove to the beach and restaurants at Almyrida, 10 minutes away from the villa, several times, and we paid a couple of visits to Chania old town and Rethymno, both of which are well worth visiting. A highlight was a day at Elafonisi beach - stunning clear water and pink sand. It’s a 2 hour drive from the villa, the last hour of which is a bit challenging at times, along winding mountain roads. We left the villa at 7:40am and arrived by 9:40, by which time the beach was already starting to fill up, but we were able to get 4 sunbeds right on the shoreline - plus we could take photos of the sea without anyone in it! An hour or so later and the beach was full, and people were struggling to find sunbeds. Parking was free and sunbeds were €15 for 2. Cretan drivers can be intimidating at first, but once you accept that it’s normal for them to overtake you on the ‘motorway’ (don’t expect more than one lane!) you get used to it. We had an amazing holiday and can’t recommend this villa highly enough!

Villa ne correspond pas au descriptif La pisicne est dangereuse les escaliers pour y accéder ne sont pas antidérapends ce qui est dangereux (ayant moi moi meme une piscine) je me suis foulée la cheville Le propirétaire indique qu'il a des chaines françaises, ce qui faux il y avait juste deux chaines d'info et pour les enfants moins que dans les hôtels. ce qui peut induire en erreur les touristes français, le propriétaire n'a pas essayé de trouver une solution malgré l'intervention de son manager sur place qui ne connaissait pas la TV et mon insistance Villa non moderne mais la vue est caché par des villas en constructions. Villa loin de tout, il faut mieux louer pour ce prix une villa près des stations balnéaires. Je ne reviendrai pas dans cette villa

La villa correspond en tous points à la description de notre annonce, et jamais aucun locataire ne s'est plaint de quoi que ce soit de puis 10 ans. La piscine répond à toutes les normes de sécurité . La réception de la télévision se fait par satellite, et le bouquet proposé comprend environ 10 chaînes Françaises, faciles à trouver. De toute la villa,, on profite d'une vue à 18O° sur la mer. Il n'y a actuellement aucune villa en construction à proximité. Le village est à 10 mn à pied. Il nous a été impossible de répondre aux demandes inadaptées de cette cliente.
