Un día en el carril: pase sus días relajándose bajo el sol, descansando a la sombra, explorando la playa, observando águilas, barcos y remolcadores mientras se acurruca con un libro o pasea por nuestro camino rural. A menos de 30 minutos de Seattle o Bellevue y 10 minutos de Boeing en Paine Field, Everett, estamos a medio camino entre Edmonds y Mukilteo, la línea de costa en Picnic Point. El Picnic Point Park con playa pública tiene piscinas de marea y está a media milla a pie. Cuando la marea está baja, la vasta playa se extiende hacia el frente, donde se pueden encontrar lechos de arena, cangrejos, erizos y estrellas de mar, escondidos en la hierba marina. Si estás aquí en marzo y abril, es común ver a las ballenas jorobadas pasar mientras se alimentan, rompen y nadan entre Picnic Point y el extremo sur de Whidbey Island. Estamos a minutos de Boeing en Paine Field, el edificio más grande de los EE. UU. Numerosos museos relacionados con vuelos y aviones históricos están muy cerca.

NOTAS MUY IMPORTANTES:
1. ¡HAY MUCHAS ESCALERAS!
Nuestra casa es frente al mar y fue construida en un lote empinado. Por lo tanto, como muestran las imágenes, baja un tramo de escaleras muy largo para ingresar a la unidad de alquiler y retroceder esos pasos cuando se vaya. Si las escaleras no son un problema, disfrutará de vistas despejadas y de un hermoso entorno para descansar y relajarse.

2. HAY NUMEROSOS TRENES, DIARIOS Y ALGO MENOS DE NOCHE
La línea de costa en nuestra área significa trenes, y nuestros huéspedes escucharán (ya veces sentirán) los trenes a medida que pasan. Para algunos, el sonido es calmante y relajante. Es sólo una parte del encanto local en el carril. Algunos usan tapones para los oídos para dormir, también ofrecemos un ventilador en la habitación y los huéspedes pueden encender el escape de la cocina y el baño para el ruido blanco en la habitación por la noche. También puedes descargar aplicaciones "White Noise" en tu teléfono inteligente, iPad u otro dispositivo si tienes el sueño ligero.

3. Tranquilo, carril privado
Nuestro carril es un camino privado, tranquilo y estrecho, y muchos residentes locales han vivido aquí durante 40 años. Las noches son extremadamente tranquilas, y pedimos a nuestros huéspedes que respeten los "volúmenes silenciosos" en cualquier momento después de las 9 pm y hasta las 7:30 am.

Perfect start to the new year!

This was a lovely place to bring in the new year. The weather was great for the end of December and there were a couple of great sunsets from the deck. I loved every thing about my stay. The hosts were very gracious! Thank you!

Beautiful spot on the water

This was a perfect place to both work and relax. The owners do a good job of describing the place, including the warning that there are steep stairs to access the entrance. The view is fantastic and relaxing on the deck was perfect. I can't wait to go back.

Amazing!!

This place was wonderful! I was staying for 3 days and ended up adding two more days to my trip. The view is unbelievable, the trains were fun to watch, they didn't make much noise. I have stayed at many places over the last 20 years and I have to say, this is my favorite place.

Easy get away!

The Haven was spectacular! The stairs were worth the view; having the full wall of windows overlooking the sound was amazing! The kitchen had everything we needed and the little table on the deck was perfect for us to enjoy coffee in the morning and our meals outside. This will definitely be on our list to come back to!

Just what the doctor ordered

5 out of 5! Hosts were great and very responsive. The scenery was incredible. Very simple check-in and check out process. The stairs were not as bad as I anticipated. Property is ducked off out of the way and provides and very calm and serene experience!

Sara & Don are GREAT hosts. I asked about the heat and next thing I knew I had a heater at my door. The view is amazing. So quiet & peaceful. Loved the trains. All The Haven is missingbis an "E" after the "A" bc its where serenity lives.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If there was a 10 I'd give that as well!!

Great waterfront property with amazing sunset view's

Very Comfortable and memorable experience. Working in Everett that week, I stayed 4 nights. A lot of steps to get down to the unit but worth every step. The trains going by were fun to watch, I looked forward to the next one coming by. Really enjoyed watching the fishermen and crabbers in their boats from the deck and the view of the sunset is priceless. Overall, a really special place with great hosts! Thank you Don and Sara

Stairs

The stairs going down to the property were scary. I counted 90 stairs in all. Everything else was wonderful. The view was fantastic.

I was concerned about your elderly mother on the outside stairs, and guests who need an accommodation can always use the interior stairs to access the unit and exit when we are home.

Beautiful

Beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Well organized and stocked with everything you would need to cook. The owners are one text message away and responded immediately. I had a little trouble with the code to enter but Sara was quick to remedy it. She is also gracioulsy sending me my wedding rings I left behind. As a solo travelor I felt safe. The property is in a beautiful location with an amazing view of the sound.

The view is spectacular!!

Everything about this apartment is perfectly described in all reviews!! Spotless! Beautiful! Views! Great location! Sunsets 1 in a million! Trains (not a problem)!! But the steps are a problem if you have any health issues or in our case AGE issues!! But I’d rent it again and just be prepared. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful spot.

Quiet and great views!

The rental was beautiful, had everything we needed, and had great views. The stairs are a bit steep, but we knew that going in. Hosts were accommodating and communicated quickly with us, though we never met them personally. That was okay as we felt like we had privacy and like it was our place to come and go as we pleased. The road in and out was pretty small and very dark at night. I might not have felt entirely comfortable on it with a large SUV or truck, but worked out with our small rental vehicle. We would definitely stay again.

Good experience

Clean, comfortable, spacious. Stairs down to the bottom, then one level up to the unit was challenging (over age 60), but felt more in shape after the week. For out of town guest and myself it was perfect, between Seattle and San Juan Island. Went to Underground Seattle tour, Chihuly Glass, Pier 57 Wings Over Washington, and the Ballard Locks. Walked on Friday Harbor ferry, rented a Chevy Tracker from Susie's Mopeds and zipped around the island. Tried to see whales, went to Roche Harbor, Amaro Farm, and Krystal Farm. Spent the night at Discovery Inn which has very spacious, lush grounds with seating all over and a hot tub. The owners were easy to communicate with. Thank-you!

The property and owners are first class

Went to Seattle to watch some baseball. Don and Sara were great to deal with and layout very clear instructions both before and when you get to the unit. So there are no surprises and it is very easy to feel at home quickly. This is a great home with good finishing, appliances and amenities. The patio is a great place to relax, watch the sunset and bbq. Yes there are a lot of stairs, but this is a good heart starter for the day. Note: You do need a car to get to shopping, dining etc. This location is removed from the commercial services. However, nothing is more than a 10 to 15 minute drive away.

We fell in love with this property from the first moment we pulled onto the Lane in 2011. There is a steep wooded bluff to one side of the Lane and Possession Sound stretching out in beautiful blue to the other side. The sunsets we see here are spectacular in every season. We watch weather systems come and go where we can see 8 miles out into the shipping lane, the south end of Whidbey Island and the lights of Hansville in front, Edmonds to the South and the picturesque Pacific Queen shipwreck to the North. We are halfway between Edmonds and Mukilteo, so at all times 2 or 3 of our beautiful Washington State Ferries can be seen as they take their passengers from the mainland to Whidbey Island or the Peninsula and back. The home is so close to the water we often feel like we live on a cruise ship. The sound of gently lapping waves is something we will never grow tired of, and when it's stormy the white caps and crashes of the waves breaking on the bulkhead reminds us why the name Wind and Tide was given to this area.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This is a beautiful new unit with large windows, 9 foot ceilings, 8 foot doors and elegant but comfortable furnishings. The home is a reverse 3 story, which means the main floor is at street level, and the unit we've created as a guest studio is down a long flight of steps, with its own private exterior access on the 3rd floor deck. The neighborhood is part of The Wind and Tide development, and like most waterfront, has a wide range of unique and interesting homes. When you walk the lane you will see cabin style homes that have been here for 100 years as well as new construction and everything unique in between.

Although we are waterfront, the water and beach is best accessed via the Picnic Point Park which is 1/2 mile to the south. Railroad tracks and a bulkhead that's challenging to navigate separate our property from the water. Also, see the tides website I've included to check for minus tides while you are here. The seafloor here is extremely level, so there are miles of tidepools to explore when the tide is out, but during high tide the only access is Picnic Point Park.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Eagles fly past at deck level numerous times a day, and it's common to spy a seal, sea lion or otter as they fish in the shallows. In summer the mother seals leave their pups tucked into the rocks of the bulkhead, but we respect them and give them distance despite their sweet cries. Humpback whales and orcas are sighted year round, and chasing fish in the tide pools during minus tides never gets tiring.
