Our family (2 adults and one teenager) rented this cabin for 4 weeks in June / early July. Cabin and lake are nice, but we found Richard, the owner, difficult to work with. He requires renters to print, sign, scan and return 2 additional legal agreements prior to staying. Even though it is listed as a 6-person cabin, we had to negotiate being able to have additional family members visit us during our stay.
While there, we had 2 power outages caused by storms, one for almost 2 days. We had no power, water, or bathroom facilities and had to stay at another location for one night. Later, while a leaky roof was being repaired, work crews were at the property for 2 days, with no advance notice. We did not appreciate being awakened at 7:30 AM to a loud compressor starting up.
At the end of the 4 weeks, we asked Richard to consider a refund or some accommodation for the 4 days of our stay that were impacted by the power outages and repair crew. Richard's response was typical: "Your request is unreasonable and therefore no refund." We won't be staying there again.
