Great Puerta del Sol location

It was in a great location of Madrid. Lots of energy and things to do around the square Able to walk to all of the major destinations The only downside was some noise and partying at night from the street and square

Amazing Location!

We really enjoyed our stay! Property was great! This was our first time staying in a VRBO so we were really nervous. But the communication was excellent, apartment was very clean and the location was amazing. Highly recommend to anyone traveling to Madrid. You won’t be disappointed.

Spacious apartment in an amazing location

Everything we needed (restaurants, groceries) was less than a five minute walk from the apartment. Top places to see (Palace and were no more than a 15-20 minute walk or metro ride. It was fantastic that we never needed car transportation.

Positives - excellent location, spacious unit with large bedrooms and good storage, English speaking TV stations, nice kitchen, nice showers, check in and checkout was easy, nice furnishings Negatives - front bedroom much too noisy all night long, unit had a very poor smell, bathrooms are very poorly lit, no outside living space

Incredible Central Location

Great location overlooking Puerta del Sol. You can walk to everything and the Sol Metro is right outside of the door. Apartment is spacious and well-appointed. It looks just like the photos and the management staff is extremely helpful. Cristina met us at the apt. Our family of 5 was very comfortable during our 3 Days in Madrid. Note - the apartment is on the top floor, but it is in the same bldg as a 2-Star hostel. You can hear the door buzzer for the hostel. However, the location is AMAZING!

Amazing Place to Stay, Right in the Heart of Madrid

If you want maximum comfort, right in the heart of Madrid's bustle, this place is for you. The apartment is huge (much more that I was expecting), as well as being clean and modern. I was really surprised by how quiet the interior of the apartment was, considering that the non-stop action of Puerta del Sol is right outside the window. The apartment is fully air-conditioned (which is essential if you're visiting Madrid between June and September). Enrique and Cristina were wonderful in organizing all of the details. I would also highly recommend using their airport transportation service. The drivers were punctual and the price was reasonable. I've already booked this apartment again for another trip to Madrid in early September.

street construction!

The apartment is clean, nice, and in a great location. The street construction was a little overwhelming. Large trucks and equipment, and jack hammering right in front of the apartment everyday but one day of our 6 day stay. At one time I took a picture because they had 26 workers sawing, jack hammering and large equipment making an unbearable amount of noise that started at 7:30 am. I would avoid this property until the construction is complete. Without the constant noise I would have rated this a 5 star review.

Great Location and Nice Big Apartment

This apartment is absolutely in the perfect location in Madrid. It is right next to the busiest and safest plaza in town and there is subway access just 50 meters from the building. You can get anywhere in Madrid on the subway in just minutes for less than a Euro. We rented it for a whole month and could not have been more pleased. It has two bathrooms and three bedrooms and is absolutely in the center of the city within 20 feet of Puerta Del Sol. We had some very minor issues and the owner took care of them immediately. If there is any issue it is that the living room and front bedroom have full height balcony windows that open up to the large plaza where crowds are often noisy until about midnight. For us it was not a problem and we enjoyed being able to watch the parades and concerts from our balcony. We would definitely rent this apartment again in the future.

Perfect location

Located right above the Puerta Del Sol, this apartment is perfectly centered. We walked everywhere from the Prado to the Palace and everything in between. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well appointed with excellent air conditioning! I rated it 4 stars due to the noise at night. Every night it seemed someone thought ringing the buzzer from the street would be a good prank. Maybe we could have disabled it but it was an annoyance. There was also quite a bit of street noise in the front bedroom but very quiet in the back. Except the wifi didn't work in the back bedroom. Not a huge issue and something an extender could easily fix. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to be in the center of the action and doesn't mind a little noise.

Location, confortable and clean

Our family reunion for Christmas 2016 was enhanced by being in this wonderful location for a week. The space is inspiring: the view of Puerta del Sol was mesmerizing on Xmas eve, and every day of our stay. The apartment is literally one building away from the corner of Puerta del Sol, the clock tower is right outside the window. The two balconies in the living room were large enough for two people to stand, or for one person to sit. The lively sounds were squelched when the doors were latched shut, amazingly. Beds were superior supportive - some sort of memory foam that permitted this back pain sufferer great rest. Kitchen was spacious. Bathrooms were luxurious. TV and WiFi dependable. We discovered three english language stations at channel 114-116. Transfer service arranged by Cristina was extremely professional, timely, and bargain priced. We enjoyed several days of 5 mile plus walks: including Salamanca, the Sorolla Museum (an absolute treasure), the Regina Sofia, the Prado, the Palace Real, the Atocha train station (for a quick Toledo visit), and El Rastro.

Lindo Apartamento

Muy buena elección. Daniel fue muy amable y nos atendió muy bien a la llegada. Nos explico cómo funcionaba todo en el apartamento y nos dio muchas recomendaciones de restaurantes y cosas que hacer en Madrid. El apartamento es tal cual se ve en fotografías y muy acogedor. Era bastante silencioso y estaba muy bien equipado. Sin duda repetiremos con Vanrays. Gracias chicos por vuestra ayuda!

Very Nice Apartment - Excellent Location

This is a very nice apartment in a perfect location. The metro is less than two minutes away & the apartment can be accessed via elevator or stairs. Our family of four (2 adult sons) found the apartment to be very comfortable, clean, well appointed and more spacious than we had expected. The beds were comfortable, and we had lots of closet space. The living room balconies provided us with beautiful views & were perfect for watching the plaza entertainment below. The windows were well insulated such that any evening music & street noise were never a problem. Each room had it’s own A/C controller which was really nice. The owner was always prompt in responding to e-mails (sometimes on the same day!) We were met at the apartment by an assistant for check-in, and she made sure all questions were answered. Our security deposit was refunded promptly to our PayPal account. We would definitely recommend this apartment and would enjoy returning in the future.

Beautiful apartment - Excellent location

We loved, loved, loved this apartment. It is very clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The location is perfect. We could stand on the balcony and watch the Puerta del Sol street performances and when we came inside the apartment was perfectly quiet. Daniel was waiting for us when we arrived. He made the check-in process easy and had great restaurant suggestions. We will definitely recommend this apartment to everyone we know who may be planning a trip to Madrid.

Great location. Cool, modern apartment.

You won’t find a better location in Madrid. Every morning when we left this apartment for a day of sightseeing we were reminded how right we were to select this unit. Many places claim to be centrally located. This one delivered. Located on the Puerta del Sol, when we walked out the front door, we were steps from the Metro and other transportation options, near shops, great bars and restaurants as well as significant sights, markets and interesting streets. Late at night from the apartment’s balconies, we watched the revelers in the Puerta del Sol and scanned the rooftops of the city. (The balconies were also great perches from which to photograph a full moon, a lovely clock and the iconic Tio Pepe sign.) Once the balcony doors were closed, the apartment was very quiet. But a great location is no good if the apartment itself isn’t up to par. This one exceeded expectations. The apartment was ideal for our group of 5. My wife and I were joined by our sons and daughter-in-law for a week and this was a great setup. Two clean, modern bathrooms. Three bedrooms with plenty of storage. A spacious, well-equipped kitchen. Even though we arrived at midnight, we were greeted promptly at the apartment and shown into a delightful space that was clean, cool and well-appointed - a perfect retreat at the end of busy - and hot - July days touring Madrid. When you’re renting an apartment sight unseen, you’re always concerned that the photos in the listing might not be accurate. The photos of this apartment were precisely what you’ll find - and you’ll be pleased.

Fantastic

We could not have had a better experience. The three bedroom, two bath condo provided exactly what we needed. It is an unbelievable location. You can look down on Sol from the windows and see all the ongoing activities. We were privileged to be in Madrid during Holy Week and we were able to view the procession/Semana Santa with gowns/capirotes representing shame and penitence as it passed through Sol. We were also within walking distance to so many iconic places, including Plaza Mayor, Museo del Prado, the Palace and their gardens to name just a few. The metro stop just outside the entrance made it easy to go anywhere in Madrid. The only downside was finding the exact entrance to the condo but that may be because of the inexperience of locating addresses by Americans.You need to find the correct door at street level then walk down the hallway to the elevator and go to the 5th floor. We loved Madrid and love Spain and the Spanish people. Also be prepared to purchase napkins and paper towels if you plan to use the kitchen for cooking.

Loved the location!

This was a beautiful apartment in an unbeatable location! The photos are accurate. My family of 5 found the apartment to be bright, spacious, and comfortable. The air conditioning (which was in all of the rooms) was wonderful. We didn't use the kitchen equipment, so I cannot speak to that. We did take advantage of the transfer service from the airport to the apartment. We are so glad we did. It was very easy. We were also delighted that we could have an early check-in (for a fee). A couple of things to note - first, the wifi doesn't work in the rear bedroom, so be careful - you'll get switched to your data plan. Second, the front bedroom is exposed to noise generated in Puerta del Sol. My son had a hard time sleeping due to late-night (1-3am) partying in the square. Don't know if we just happened to be here during particularly festive summer evenings, or if the noise is standard. Also, we were taken aback by the amount of people coming and going from (and loitering outside) the building. The front door of the building was routinely propped open (we think by a couple of guys who hung out in the doorway). (We would be sure to push the front door closed/remove whatever was being used to keep it open.) We didn't love the hostel being located on the two floors below the apartment. With all of that said, we had a great visit. We felt safe on the 5th floor. The location was a perfect launching point for us to see the city. The metro was literally a few steps from the front door, the Hop On Hop Off bus stop was just around the corner, you are in easy walking distance to many of the major sites, and there are more restaurants and shops than you could ever visit. Daniel, the apartment manager who greeted us, was friendly and very helpful.

Good location for authentic experience in the center of Madrid

I thought the location and condition of the unit was as described. Also, the hosts were responsive at the beginning and during our stay. The unit was clean when we arrived. A lot of great restaurants around the hotel. The downsides are as follows: The apartment was in a building that's mostly a hostel (i.e., most apartments have turned into a hostel) so there's a lot of people coming and going/noise. The pans which we used for cooking breakfast were all scratched up and needed to be changed. There didn't appear to be any smoke alarms and the apartments at the hop floor...one way to evacuate. Further, if you're used to beds at top American hotel brands, you may find the beds to be less than fully comfortable.
