Preciosa casa de piedra con jardín, en un castillo cerca de la playa ya 1 hora de Venecia - 3

Casa La Vicinia está situado en uno de los castillos privados más antiguos del norte de Italia. Los propietarios han restaurado con amor tres hermosas casas de piedra que les proporcionan todas las comodidades.

Tiene su propio jardín privado, cerrado con una cerca para garantizar la privacidad de los huéspedes, que también tienen acceso a los jardines del castillo.

En la planta baja hay un comedor / sala de estar con un sofá cama, sillón, varias sillas, alfombras, escritorio, mesitas, armario empotrado, televisión por satélite, mesa y sillas de madera, cajón.
También hay una cocina totalmente equipada.
Desde el comedor / sala de estar tiene acceso a un precioso pórtico arqueado y en el jardín para descansar y comer al aire libre. Hay una mesa y sillas de madera, una mesa redonda con sillas, una barbacoa y tumbonas.

En el primer piso hay:
-un vasto espacio abierto con cama de matrimonio y un
-Una gran habitación doble.
Tanto el área de espacio abierto como la habitación doble tienen un armario, un cajón, mesas de noche, sillas, escritorio, espejo, alfombra y cada uno tiene su propio cuarto de baño con ducha, lavabo, bidé y wc

Se han hecho todos los esfuerzos para ofrecer una estancia maravillosa.

El complejo del castillo está formado por el edificio principal, rodeado por una serie de hermosos edificios de piedra utilizados como casas de guardias, centro administrativo y judicial, establos, taller artesanal, graneros, archivos, molino de arroz y la torre.

Por un lado el edificio principal está conectado por un arco a la iglesia de St. Nikolaus, anteriormente la capilla del castillo que fue donada a la aldea (las misas católicas los domingos) y en el otro lado está la antigua torre.

El entorno es realmente precioso y el conjunto está rodeado de preciosos jardines, atravesado por arroyos de agua de manantial y ríos.

Strassoldo es una joya preciosa de una encantadora y aún desconocida región que no es invadido por los turistas. De hecho, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, tiene muchos sitios históricos importantes, una naturaleza encantadora con muchos paisajes maravillosos diferentes que van desde altas montañas, a través de colinas y llanuras verdes a las playas de roca o arena.

El castillo está situado en una posición muy central desde donde es fácil llegar a todas estas atracciones.
Solo por mencionar algunos, #Venecia es accesible en 1 hora en coche, la antigua colonia romana de Aquileia (la segunda colonia más grande de Roma) en 10 minutos, la playa dorada de Grado en 20 minutos, la hermosa ciudad de Udine en 30 minutos , el maravilloso Golfo Adriático con la ciudad / puerto de Trieste en 38 minutos, Eslovenia en 35 minutos y Austria en 60 minutos.

Los huéspedes pueden relajarse, dar agradables paseos por la campiña de Friulan, andar en bicicleta por pequeños pueblos rurales, nadar en el cercano mar Adriático y hacer agradables excursiones de un día a muchos sitios y ciudades regionales interesantes.

La región también ofrece la posibilidad de degustar excelentes vinos y comida friulana.

Great Accommodation

Overall we really liked the accommodation and our stay in Strassoldo. The location is very near to many hot spots and you can also stay there well and just relax.

Lovely, wonderful stay

We had an amazing time in Strassoldo. One of our favourite short term stays we have had. The unit was spotelessly clean, and had all the conveniences you could think of. The castle of Strassoldo is very interesting to wander around, and the town is centrally located for many daytrips. We loved it!

The King (and Queen) of the Castle

We had a wonderful week in Strassoldo. The house was extremely comfortable with a small but perfectly serviceable kitchen. The bedrooms were large and bright with very comfortable beds, The outdoor area is beautiful and a wonderful place to wander with a glass of wine in the evening. The are two restaurants and an excellent little grocery store just around the corner. Nidia was charming, sweet and very attentive. Even though she didn't speak a word of English we got along famously.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments. We are so happy you appreciated our Casa La Vicinia and the garden of the same, which is connected to the park of the castle. The fact of having good restaurants and a grocery store and even a post office and a hairdresser in the small village is practical. I am always available via whatsapp and phone for any request, although our sweet and unreplaceable Nidia, who is also my partner, seems to be doing very well without the need to involve me. Being a private castle with only 5 holiday homes, our guests breathe the normal and ancient atmosphere of the castle and Nidia is part of this since many years and knows the history of the last 30 years of the castle.

Lovely Village Stay

Castello Di Strassoldo is a lovely spot, not fancy but comfortable and well equipped, in a unique and special setting. The owner Gabriella and helper Nidia are wonderful and it is clear that you are staying somewhere with tremendous history and charm. The castle complex is fascinating and the morning and hourly bells from the small church remind you regularly that you are in a bit of a fantasy land! There is not much to the town other than a small grocery store, a pharmacy and a post office but that's really all you need! Except, of course, a truly wonderful bar called BarBagianni (you will understand the name when you get there!) that is run by a lovely group of women and seems to be the social center of the town. It is a vibrant place that made our stay perfect.

We are happy that you have grasped the special atmosphere of a place where history has never been interrupted for a thousand years as it has always belonged to the same family. We only have a few holiday homes and it is precisely that special atmosphere that we wish to preserve and offer our guests, of course, providing all the necessary modern comforts, but without denaturing the place by turning it into a relais like many others.

A beautiful step back in time!!!

Our week in Strassoldo at La Vicinia was perfect! Beautiful gardens, cobblestone walkways, a river complete with water wheel, traditional foods in the quaint village restaurants, church bells, and a roomy two bedroom, two bathroom castle apartment all contributed to our desire to return as soon as possible. Our host, Gabriella, and her dear assistant, Nidia, made us feel like we were visiting family rather than Americans they had never met. The village is located within very close access to beach communities, historical villages with noted early Roman mosaics and ruins, wineries, Venice, the lagoons of the Adriatic, and other areas of interest. Yet, the village and the castle are an oasis of peacefulness and beauty.

Wonderful location and bui a quiet corner of Italy

The accommodation was well within our expectations. Spacious bedrooms, nicely furnished, maintained and well equipped. The bathrooms were clean and adequate. And the bonus of all bonuses was our hosts. We simply could not ask for more, both Lella and Midia bent over backwards to make our stay a pleasant and memorable one. We had several wet days and how nice it was to be given a freshly baked pie as compensation for the bad weather. On other days were were given freshly baked bread, wine and chocolates. Despite the weather we were able to see the surrounding areas and particularly liked Grado, Palmanova. We managed to visit Udine in the pouring rain and catch up with a mosiac master. We highly recommend this property and everything it has to offer.

Great location - could use more personal attention

We spent a week here, and loved the location and the apartment. There was a lot to see and do in the area, as long as you had a car, and there were restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated, with a lovely outdoor sitting area. Our only complaints: - the owner had three very large dogs who roamed freely in close proximity to our outdoor space. We love dogs, but they defecated profusely. The owners cleaned it up every couple of days, but it detracted from our enjoyment of the area. - the person who greeted us on arrival could not speak English at all, so it made it difficult to understand where we were supposed to go, where to park the car, etc. The instructions that were provided to us prior to arrival were difficult to understand. - Gabriella (the owner) said she was looking forward to meeting us, but despite her assurances that she would be there to greet us, we didn't meet her until the day before our departure. By then, it was too late to visit the various sites that she recommended to us.

Thank you for your nice review and advice. I'm happy you liked the home and environment that is really pretty. Thanks to the free internet access available in the home and the nice regional and local websites with plenty of useful information plus the drawer full of folders and iadditional nformation I personally researched and wrote for my guests it is easy get to know our beautiful region. After having spent I my life practically alone through enormous difficulties restoring the castle and gardens which were a ruin only 20 years ago, it Is motivating to hear that the guests like it and their comments are very important to know the pros and cons and improve the hospitaly I offer in the three holdiay homes I restored a few years ago. Many guests come back every year and I feel sustained by their friendship and advice that I take into serious consideration in order to improve the hospitality I offer Nidia the local lady that greets the guests on arrival is my "second mother". She is sweet and has given me the force to continue together with all the nice guests I have met. Now I am organising, again with little help, a huge exhibition with around 100 exhibitors (excellent artisans, artists and plant nurseries) in the both the castles of Strassoldo, which is also a fundraising activity I lauched 19 years ago that the public seems to love as there are regularly a mean of 7000 visitors on a week- end. Also here ai take so much care in making it fascinating and personally also make a lot of decorations. I am behind every detail and sensitive people realize that and this is the force of the place.

La Vicinia, Home with Garden in Castle

This property is utterly amazing! If you are looking for a romantic getaway in Northeast part of Italy, you have found your place! The property manager is highly responsive, very friendly, and fluently speaks and understands several different languages...including perfect English. The property itself has recently been completely renovated and both the home and surrounding gardens are immaculately kept. The home and castle environs offer visitors an "old world" feel, but yet with all the modern conveniences including very fast (and reliable!) WiFi, satellite (and local, over-the-air) television...as well as air conditioning (which we didn't need for our stay in early Fall). The home is also located near enough to the Italian Autostrata to be convenient to get to, but yet far enough "off the beaten path" (in a small town) to still afford visitors peace and quiet. The home is within easy walking distance of a well-stocked grocery store and Trattoria (restuarant), and just a few Km's drive from a number of excellent, up-scale restaurants. Larger supermarkets in both Palmanova and Cervignano are also just a short drive away. Roman ruins at Aquileia and beaches at Grado are located a few Km's South while the beautiful Dolomite Alps mountains of Italy (and the Julian Alps of Slovenia) are just a few hours drive to the North and/or East. Trains to and from Venice are easily accessible via the IialiaRail train station close by in Cervignano. All in all, this property affords a great place to relax and unwind, while also offering "old world" charm and a central location for some fantastic Italian sightseeing for those so inclined. We will most certainly be back!

Wunderschöner Aufenthalt in einem idyllischen Schloss. Um die Ecke eine urige Bar, die wir sofort als unsere "Stammkneipe" auserkoren hatten. Von hier aus kann man Ausflüge in alle Richtungen unternehmen. "Unser Haus" und der total schöne dazugehörige Garten war mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht, um sich wohlzufühlen. Sehr aufmerksame Gastgeberinnen! Wir hatten sofort bei Ankunft das Gefühl, dass wir wirklich willkommen sind. Danke für die schöne Zeit bei euch!

Alles ist in Wahrheit noch schöner als auf den Fotos!Das Haus ist mit Gefühl, Geschmack und hochwertigen Materialien renoviert. Sehr sauber! Die Küche ist mit allem was das Herz begehrt ausgestattet. Sogar Kaffee steht bereit, sodass man direkt nach Ankunft erstmal ein Tässchen genießen kann. In den Schlafzimmern gibt es Klimaanlagen und die Betten sind hervorragend - wir haben sehr gut geschlafen.Die Gärten, eigentlich muss man sagen Parks, sind wunderschön und perfekt gepflegt.Der private Garten direkt vor dem Haus, ist komplett umzäunt. Unser Hund, Französische Bulldogge, konnte so den Garten super nutzen.Neben diesem privaten Garten gibt es noch zwei weitere - wie gesagt, alles rundherum eingezäunt.Nidia und Gabriella haben uns und unserem Hund das Gefühl gegeben, sehr willkommen zu sein. Sie waren gut erreichbar, es gibt alle nötigen Infos und viele Tipps rechtzeitig.Die geografische Lage ist ebenfalls perfekt. Udine und Grado - 25km, Triest - 62km, Venedig - ca. 100km. Nidia hat uns sogar eine "Antimosquito"-Ausrüstung zur Verfügung gestellt. Brot und Wein gab es auch noch - es war einfach toll!

Historische Unterkunft als Basis zur Erkundung Friauls

Wir haben diese interessante, historische Unterkunft in Strassoldo als Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung Friauls gewählt, weil sie günstig zwischen Trieste, Udine und Gorizia liegt. Bei einem historischen Gebäude wie diesem muß man einige Abstriche in Sachen Sauberkeit machen, was als ‚Patina‘ durchgehen darf. Die Schlaf- und Badezimmer waren diesbezüglich in sehr gutem Zustand, die bereitgestellte Bettwäsche, Handtücher und Tischdecken frisch. Auch die Küche ist sauber und bietet, was man so braucht - was den guten Eindruck allerdings trübt, ist der Schimmelgeruch von unter der Spüle. Hier sollte man dringend Abhilfe schaffen. Der Garten ist weitläufig zugänglich und die Sitzmöglichkeiten laden zum Essen unter dem Bogengang oder zum Entspannen im Liegestuhl im Schatten der Bäume ein. Gegen die stets vorhandenen Mücken wurde eine sehr effektive Hochspannungslampe zur Verfügung gestellt. Die schriftliche Kommunikation mit Gabriella war sehr einfach und effektiv, persönlich kennengelernt haben wir allerdings nur die sehr freundliche und fürsorgliche Nidia (die uns zum Empfang ein leckeres, selbstgebackenes Brot gebracht hat), die aber nur Italienisch spricht. Verstanden haben wir uns trotzdem irgendwie. Alles in allem haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden gerne wiederkommen.

Charmantes Steinhaus

Wir wurden von der liebenswuerdigen Nidia, einer guten Flasche Cabernet und selbstgebackenem Brot in der Casa VICINIA im Borgo Strassoldo nett empfangen. Das Haus ist gross genug fuer 4 Personen und mit einem Mix aus antiken -und Stilmoebeln individuell eingerichtet. Von hier aus lassen sich Städte und Küste schnell erkunden. Da das Haupthaus normal bewohnt wird, ist es leider nur nach Anmeldung ab 20 Personen mit Fuehrung zu sehen; die Gaeste haben jedoch Zutritt zu beiden Gärten.

Das Ambiente ist wunderbar. Es ist wie das eintauchen in eine andere Welt. Die Gastgeber sind äußerst charmant und zuverlässig. Strassoldo ist ein wunderbarer Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen ins Umland. Selbst die viel erwähnten Mücken waren bei uns kein Problem. Danke!!! Wir freuen uns, dass wir Sie in unserem Vicinìa beherbergen durften und dass die Umgebung Sie fasziniert hat. Sie war im Mittelalter Verwaltungssitz und kurzzeitig auch Gericht. Da unsere Familie das Schloss seit mehr als tausend Jahren gebaut hat und bewohnt, ist es von einer alten Geschichte durchdrungen, die nie unterbrochen wurde. Tatsächlich ist es ein sehr zentraler, aber ruhiger Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die gesamte Region. Wir haben gelernt, die Mücken mit für den Menschen unschädlichen Mitteln zu bekämpfen, die von einer Spezialfirma durchgeführt werden. Diese Insekten sind leider heute auf der ganzen Welt verbreitet, außer in Island und der Antarktis.

Eine Übernachtungsmöglichkeit der besonderen Art! Nirgendwo haben wir bisher so viel Grün um unsere Unterkunft gehabt! Die Betreuung war hervorragend. Wir haben eine knappe Woche die Umgebung erkundet. Der Ort Strassoldo bietet selbst nicht viel. Ein Fahrzeug wird auf jeden Fall benötigt. Gerne wieder!

Wir haben uns gefreut, Sie als Gäste zu haben. Für uns ist es eine Freude, dass unsere Gäste wiederkommen wollen. Die Gärten sind eine der Besonderheiten des Schlosses, ebenso wie die Ruhe aufgrund der geringen Einwohnerzahl. Glücklicherweise gibt es im Dorf außerhalb des Burgdorfes zumindest die wesentlichen Dienstleistungen wie Supermarkt, Post, einige Restaurants, ein Café, eine Bank und einen Friseur. Für den Rest herrscht Frieden. Un caro saluto da Strassoldo!

Verwunschen schön

Auf die anfänglichen Probleme bei der Buchung über FeWo hat man sehr gut reagiert. Die Kommunikation diesbezüglich lief einwandfrei. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben wegen der anfänglichen Buchungsprobleme eine größere Wohnung bekommen. Das Castello ist einfach traumhaft. Die Wohnung und der Garten lassen einen richtig zur Ruhe kommen. Jederzeit wieder!

Gelungener Urlaub

Wir haben in den 10 Tage in "La Vicinia" im Schloß von Strassoldo einen wunderschönen Urlaub verbracht. Die Wohnung ist vorbildlich restauriert, schön eingerichtet und sehr gepflegt. Ein Traum war die Loggia hinter dem Haus zu unserem Garten hin. Hier konnte man ungestört und unabhängig vom Wetter sitzen, sich entspannen und essen. Allerdings sollte in der Küche, bei einer Ferienwohnung dieser Preisklasse, manches erneuert und ergänzt werden; so gab es z.B. nur zwei Weingläser, die durch langen Gebrauch schon trüb und abgeschabt waren - nicht sehr appetitlich. Wissen sollten Gäste, daß die kleine Kirche der Burg, direkt neben der Wohnung, morgens um sieben Uhr Sturm läutet. Vorbereitet sein sollte man auch auf die Unmengen von Mücken und sich ausreichend Mittel mitbringen. Ansonsten sind alle Angaben in der Beschreibung richtig. In Strassoldo selbst findet man alles, was man braucht: einen kleinen Supermarkt, zwei Bars, mehrere Restaurants. Und über das Friaul brauchen wir nicht mehr zu sagen als: die Reise hierher lohnt sich. Es war ein wirklich schöner Urlaub, und die schöne Wohnung hatte daran einen großen Anteil!

As a child living abroad, my visits to my grandparents here planted seeds of wonder that grew into a deep connection with this ancient place.
When the restoration work began, much of the complex lay in ruins - the rice mill, the tower, the guards' houses, la vicinìa, and the new kitchen all needed extensive work. Even the chancellery, which had been sold years earlier, was repurchased to prevent its conversion into a brewery and to maintain the historical integrity of the estate.
Many comment that living in a castle must be a privilege. The reality is that preserving such heritage requires tremendous determination. The work has often progressed without external support, against considerable challenges. What sustains such efforts isn't just personal resolve, but perhaps also the echoes of the generations who built and maintained these walls before us.
The restoration has always followed historical principles, using natural materials and traditional techniques. Each building tells its own story, each stone speaks of continuity rather than reinvention.
The greatest reward comes from seeing visitors connect with the authentic character of the place.

Here, the crystal-clear spring waters flow through meadows and gardens, creating a landscape of rare beauty.
