Well maintained condo complex. Smaller complex and quiet. Seems to attract an older crowd. Just a short walk to Napili beach and more beaches beyond. On a rocky cove that was a little difficult to get in and out of the water. Pleasant place to stay in Maui. Easy parking and very pleasant staff, and clean. Basic kitchen supplies. Picturesque lawn and pool overlooking the ocean. Unit could use a little plumbing and electrical maintenance. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this complex but I may consider a different unit next time.

The other guests were friendly and great to talk to and hang out with. The onsite management is great. If there are any issues, which there really wasn’t much, it was addressed and taken care of right away. Communications on check in and check out policies were very clear and simple. Grounds are well kept and beautiful.

Wonderful condo on a private cove with some of the best snorkeling in the Lahaina area. Everything was clean, comfortable and nice. The upper loft gets a little warm at night with the small air conditioner in the two twin-bed room below. Sleep on top of the sheets and it’s fine. Other than that we loved our visit there and hope to return.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the third time we've been here and I always marvel at how great the cove is and how well positioned this property is on the cove. It's an intimate setting, not a huge development and Ray and the team do an amazing job keeping in tip-top shape. Everything is cared for every day. You don't find properties this well managed very often. Great location. The Individual units are all different and the ONE thing I would recommend is that units in the rental pool all have a similar level of appointments (Toasters, knives etc., ) in the unit so that you can count on it.

We loved staying at the cove. The only thing we didn’t like was the noise next door and the noise in general once it got to the weekend. You have to sleep with the windows open due to heat and it gets loud outside early. The TV upstairs is very small and if the one downstairs is on, you can’t use the one upstairs. The stairs are very steep but overall a great place! We hope to come back some day! The outside part is our favorite!

Paradise, really!

The location of this condo is very specially located right on a quiet cove that hosts beautiful fish and lots of turtles who come rest up on the rocks! Easy snorkeling for me, a beginner! Get cold? Hop in the warm pool! Or lay on the many lounges on the grass. Just a beautiful place, with lots of friendly and loyal guests who return every year. Watched the whale action from the balcony, too! Beds were comfortable. Outfitted with kitchen and snorkeling gear!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Honokeana is definitely my happy place! When I arrive and go out on the lanai and take in the view, such a sense of calm and joy comes over me! We stayed in a different unit this year and there were a few things missing. The kitchen didn't have a good serving bowl or wine opener. We did appreciate the tupperware, but there were no measuring cups (one large mixing bowl with amounts on the side) and the knives were pretty dull. A workman came to try to fix the ceiling light/fan in the master bedroom, but was unsuccessful. One of the cabinets was missing its knob. All these were little things, but I do hope they were just small oversights, not a change in management efficiency. But I wouldn't trade the view with any of the high-dollar resorts on the island! The whales and turtles, the proximity to good beaches and great dining and the beautifully kept pool and grounds make Honokeana the place I want to return to year after year.

Our unit was clean and a great fit for our family:) We were a family of four Adults. We all had a wonderful time. Perfect location and feel for us:). Only things I would want next renters to know in advance is that this unit had a small TV that is not a smart TV. The other would be that the complex has a fence around it but there is not one around the pool. We were very happy there was not one around the pool it would have taken away from the view and old Hawaiian carefree feel but anyone staying with young children take note you can walk straight from your bottom unit into the pool etc. Again we were very happy it was not fenced and believe parents need to be responsible for watching their children 24/7 it’s just a heads up to parents of little ones.

Reviewer Comments: Photos don’t do Honokeana Cove justice - it’s exquisitely beautiful, with views to die for, turtles bobbing around in the Cove and basking on the shore, immaculate gardens. We loved every minute of our stay here - if only it was a bit closer to home for us! Our condo #212 was comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, it was clean and the lanai was a lovely place to eat each evening. The breezes and ceiling fans kept us cool - we didn’t miss having air conditioning. Thank you for a lovely stay.

UNIT 212 Honokeana Cove

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful location, grounds well kept. Unit 212 is old and needed updating. Screens were blown out on slider, slider squeaked, closet doors fell off, bathroom door squeaked and did not close completely, light bulbs missing in bathroom, louver windows did not close, fridge was really, really noisy, wall mirrors were stained due to age, walls were dirty and needed to be repainted, there is no ac, ceiling fans needed maintenance - random squeaking noises at all speeds, curtains did not block out lights from grounds at night, no bathroom products provided beyond bar soap. Really difficult to get a good nights sleep here due to the lights and constant noise - from fans, from fridge, from road.

A piece of paradise!

As stated property is old style Hawaiian! We LOVED it! if you love to snorkel with turtles and a wide variety of fish, this is the place to stay! my only comment with this particular condo, is that if you are a light sleeper the nearby traffic might keep you awake at night. Betty and Su are absolutely fabulous. You couldn't ask for better customer service, Mahalo to you both! See you next year!

New Years Eve @ The Cove unit 212

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 5th time staying here and we stayed for New Years in 2019.Probably going to be our last time. It has been an amazing place to stay with beautiful lawn and the cove so close. However, since the pandemic, no PooPoo Wednesday, no NewYears BBQ, New Years Eve sounded like a war zone, almost like pipe bombs going off- whizzing in the bushes nearby, for 5 hours around the neighborhood. Can’t control the neighborhood, I know. Just sayin’- if you decide to book New Years.The Aloha was lacking. Our unit was woeful. I know the owner just passed but it was dirty, 1/2 a roll of paper towels, two dish clothes, no dish rags, lack of plastic cups to take to the pool, no cleaning supplies to clean countertops or the filthy lanai table. Finally found the broom in the upstairs clothes closet. Beach towels were worn with holes in them. LOTS of little kids. We arrived to about 20 littles with a family reunion running around the lawn, having a very good time. Okay. I like kids, but it wasn’t peaceful like I remembered. It’s a family place,our timing was off, toys all over the lawn. Check in 4pm -check out 10 am (seems early) Overall it’s a magical place, but tourist still wear sunscreen that they bring from home, the reef is dying and it’s so sad. I think Honokeana Cove needs to educate and sell mineral sunscreen in the office. Put up some signed letting people know what sunscreen is doing. It’s like you all agree but continue to do nothing to make it better. The Pandemic didn’t help at all. But come on folks don’t lose your edge. Definitely some units better than others. I would read the reviews carefully instead of just taking what they have available.PS: went to the Old Lahaina Luau. Last time as well......food just not up to snuff anymore. Dancers still amazing, beautiful and talented. George Kahumoku show is awesome and down home Aloha. Recommend.Sea Maui whale watching. Go

The unit was nice with old Hawaiian charm & updated amenities.The loft can get a bit WARM with only a ceiling fan.But the view was spectacular,the grounds immaculate,the snorkeling FANTASTIC. The only problem we see with it is keeping this gem a SECRET,selfishly for ourselves. Mahalo!!
